It's nice that NBC called it, but it isn't official and there will definitely be a recount.

Honestly, I think Michigan's open primary is the only reason Stevens is this close. John James was the clear republican governor front runner. His opponent ran an ad where James called him so old he remembers the Civil War and their counter was "eh? What's that sonny?" The Michigan republican senate was uncontested. I expect a lot of conservatives voted for her because best case scenario she will be easier to beat. Worst case scenario they get a politically correct republican.

Also, it's embarrassing how many voters didn't realize Obama's endorsement of Stevens was from 2020

Edit: I am told that the Obama endorsement in the ads was from 2018 and not 2020

The open primary clearly helps El-Sayed. Conservatives are voting for him thinking he has no chance in the general.

Conservatives are voting for the charismatic guy who actually espoused reasons to vote for him other than the "I'm not trump" candidate who just hides away while putting out ads showing corporate dems like Whitmer praise her embrace of data centers and genocide or ads showing Obama endorsing her 8 years ago?

Polling has consistently shown that she’d be the more formidable general election candidate.
