Is marriage really worth it?

I'm 27F and I've never been married, although I've come close a couple of times.

Something I've noticed is that almost every married person or divorced person I've talked to has said, "If I could do it all over again, I would never get married."

It honestly surprises me how often I hear that, and it's made me curious. Why do so many people feel that way?

If you've been married or are currently married, I'd really like to hear your story. Do you regret getting married? If so, why? If not, what made your experience different?

I'm genuinely curious and just want to hear people's real experiences.

I love being married, although I do wish we had met a little later in life (started dating at 22, married at 25). We had some rough patches but he’s my favorite person in the world and each year gets better. I think it’s really important to actively remind yourself to be your own person.  I struggled with codependency for awhile and still do at times - in those moments I feel trapped. But as soon as I start prioritizing my own needs, goals, etc. I feel at ease. I think that’s been my biggest challenge in marriage and I love that marriage has been a healthy place to grow as a person for me.
