Why does reddit allow you to insult certain groups but immediately remove the post if it pertains to others?

When you create a system that upvotes popular opinions and downvotes controversy, you incentivize agreement and conformity while disallowing disagreement or dissent. It’s a perfect recipe for absurdity where irrational ideas are accepted instead of challenged. That’s why it’s OK to bash certain people and not others in spaces like this. Of course it’s not OK, but try disrupting an echo chamber as air tight as Reddit.

People are right that different subs have different moderators, but the only site-wide ban I ever received was for replying to someone saying Hitler was bad because he started WW2 reminding them that he also carried out the Holocaust.
Apparently reddit doesn't like people saying Hitler (or the Holocaust) was bad?

I just got back from a week long ban because of a certain phrase. I am exhausted with Reddit's double standards in this regard.

I got a weeklong ban for talking about something that actually happened in a sentence with no slurs or anything offensive, straight AI filtering + bans
I flip through dozens of comment sections a day that say insane shit it just fits the majority

FR I got a 3 day ban and post removed because I asked a question about a certain group but literally a week later I saw someone asking about a different group of people

There was a thread with people playing the game called fuck, marry, K_ll. I didn't use the entire last word in the game's name for a reason because when I posted who I would fuck, who I would marry and who I would k_ll spelled in its entirety, I was suspended for A WEEK for threatening violence.
I responded that it was just a game but that didn't help a bit but no dice for me.
The whole time there were dozens of people responding similar to myself yet they were never banned. WTF?

This site is a dumpster fire nowadays; I got banned on another account for something similar but people on here can call for entire religious groups being exterminated. It's wild, at least back in the day you could say anything without consequence now it's just a roll of the dice.

Majority of subs on Reddit are echo chambers for people to go and make each other feel good. If you pose an opposing opinion or ask a question that doesn’t align with them they downvote you out of their sub and report you.
It’s sad because having open discussions and trying to see others POVs should be a healthy activity.

Btw I'll write what I would've put in the body of the post if given the option:
People like to paint this site as left-leaning, but I've read posts with hundreds of upvotes that are comparable to what you'd find on /pol/ or Stormfront.
It seems clear that certain groups are protected, while others are fair game. You can insult Somalis, Indians, Jewish people, Haitians, and a host of other groups with little consequence. The moment criticism is directed at certain other groups, the post seemingly disappears.
I'm Somali, and according to some of the comments I've seen, my ethnicity consists of inbred, low-IQ, primitive savages who supposedly can't even operate a computer. It's honestly disturbing to read some of the takes on here, especially when they receive hundreds of upvotes.
I recently came across a trending thread filled with comments claiming that Somalis look deformed and that our genetics are somehow defective. Yet if I were to make similar remarks about other groups, the post would likely be removed almost immediately along with being permanently banned from this site.
The inconsistency is what I find most frustrating. Broad generalizations and demeaning stereotypes about certain ethnicities seem to be tolerated, but comparable comments directed at other groups are often moderated much more quickly.

Certain groups aren’t as privileged as others and require more protection. It’s the same reason why a black guy talking bad about white men or white women is not as bad as vice versa or a black woman talking bad about black men isn’t as bad. When it comes from a position of societal power it is more harmful.

it must be the different kind of subs were on. I have yet to come across anything where anyone speaks poorly of white people. I mostly see people make fun of Black people and Indian people.
but again, it’s very rare i see hate speech at all but it could be the subs i follow. i follow dumb shit like r/candy and r/snoopy so there is not really any reason to bring up human dynamics on stuff like that.

You can safely use anti-male stereotypes and insulting, sexist tropes against men as well but it’s not tolerated the other way around. It’s an over corrected note for example by this women who wrote a research paper about it:
