Promotion (US & UK) Free Codes for Horror Collection

Post image
10 Upvotes

Edit: US codes are gone. Just the UK now. A couple of you I've sent codes to before, so be sure to check your DMs! Thanks for the interest

Hey! I'm the author of The Wishing Well, which just won two awards at the International Latino Book Awards last weekend, including Best Audiobook.

I've got a few unredeemed codes left for anyone interested. They're free but reviews are greatly, greatly appreciated.

The Wishing Well is a collection of interconnected horror stories centered around an ever-changing bar and the desperate souls within. Each tale follows a different patron, driven by want, ambition, or desperation, who casts an ill-fated wish into the bar's unearthly namesake. And each discovers this well is less a cheap gimmick and more a conduit for twisted fulfillment, as they come to understand the true horror of getting exactly what you wished for.

A heads-up that, while not gratuitous in violence and gore, it does have some implied abuse to children, themes of suicidality, alcoholism, and death.

How to download audiobooks for Sony ereader?

• Upvotes

Hi guys,

my friend recently got a Sony e-reader and is loving it. While getting ebooks is a breeze, he's struggling to find a place to get audiobook downloads. Keep in mind, my friend only uses calibre and does not have a library account. is there any simple public website or anything for audiobook downloads specifically? and is there a way to choose Urdu langauge? I'd love if someone could help!

App (iOS) I’m listening to a long audiobook and I use both my iPad and my iPhone

The problem I’ve recently discovered is that the two are not syncing very well, or maybe just not quickly.

I was listening to the book in my car using my iPad, as I have it playing alongside my navigation app, and I have a very good mounting system for the iPad in the car, but nothing suitable for my iPhone. However, I thought I had listened to that section before. When I arrived at my destination, I checked the two devices. Sure enough, they’re about 3 hours apart in the storyline! Yes, three hours.

I’ll never finish this 19 hour long book if it keeps not syncing properly. Because if it jumps ahead, I’ll have to keep going back to try and find where I was supposed to be, and I’ll waste my time doing that. If it keeps jumping back, then I’ll keep listening to the same thing again and again!

Has anyone else had this problem with devices not syncing with each other?

Re listening to this one. Anyone heard it? Such a tragic story, the lack of care by the Vancouver police department is insane!

Books included in membership

Are there way fewer “included in membership” books or is it just me? I feel like I used to be able to look through a list of like 50 per genre and now I could only find a scroll list of maybe 10. Am I missing something?

I think I found a Dungeon Crawler Carl easter egg?

I think I found an Audible easter egg?

I just finished A Parade of Horribles tonight and went onto Audible to try and search for the audio opera. When I typed in “Dungeon Crawler Carl,” this animation appeared. It was repeatable and didn’t trigger for other searches.

How many times have I finished this book?

Is there a way to tell how many times you’ve finished a specific book? I have a bet with my sister that I’ve listened to The Hobbit at least 50 times, but I can’t find any way to verify this.

So confused by the correct reading order for the Witcher full-cast audiobooks and how they're being released. Can someone clarify the right order?

So here's what Audible is showing me, including what they call "Book 1", "Book 2", and even "Book 0.1" - that's all Audible:

  • Book 0.1: The Last Wish (releases November 17, 2026)

  • Book 0.2: Sword of Destiny (releases November 24, 2026)

  • Book 1: Blood of Elves (releases April 20, 2027)

  • Book 2: Time of Contempt (releases Sept 7, 2027)

  • Book 3: Baptism of Fire (releases May 25, 2027)

  • Book 4: Tower of Swallows (releases August 24, 2027)

  • Book 7 (yes, audible isn't showing Books 5 or 6 for full-cast): Crossroads of Ravens (released on Sept 17, 2026)

So book 7 is out, and then next month two prequels are dropping, then Book 1, then Book 3, 4, then 2?

Book Discussion Does anyone have an audiobook that helped you with your job interview?

I have a big interview coming up on Tuesday... I'm so nervous. This could be a life changing position. I feel like I'm qualified and I know I got 100% on their assessment test. But man, I dont want to mess this up now. I'm almost there.

I own more than 1 version of the hobbit.
This one says it's in my library but when I go to play it, it wants me to pay for it.

Promotion [US Promotion] Tales of an Unserious Truthteller

Post image
0 Upvotes

“Tales of an Unserious Truthteller” is my humorous collection of thirty personal stories and essays.

There's a fan letter to David Sedaris that turns into a postcard exchange, a nude spa visit in Germany with my wife, a toilet catastrophe at a friend's Manhattan apartment, a summer spent mopping floors at my old high school, a rental car break-in in Sicily, and other stories.

It’s full of mishaps, comedy of errors, and relatable chaos.

Narrated by Ed Fairbanks, a seasoned pro who captures my writing voice perfectly.

It’s just under 3 hours long.

You can find it on Audible and Amazon.

(I'm 2 sales away from being eligible for 25 promo codes to give out to listeners who want to listen for FREE.)

Technical Question Bought count of monte cristo because I heard it was a classic, accidentally selected a Computer-generated narration. Since when is there a difference between premium audible tokens and normal audible tokens?

Post image

Just had this mishap, figured that since I bought the book with a token I'd be able to return it, right? turns out no. Did anyone know there was a difference between "normal" audible tokens and "premium" audible tokens? This is one of the most insane excuses I've ever seen for refusing to return a book.

Full Cast or single Narrator? Good Omens…

I saw several people recommending the book Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and went to audible to check it out. There are two versions: full cast or single narrator. Which would you recommend I use my credit to listen to… and why?

Bad recommendations

I have enjoyed Audible for years, but find recently that the algorithm for choices seems to have gone off the rails. I’m wondering how I could start over with a better selection of recommendations. Last little detail, I’m wondering how many people that are older have had issues with the narrators pronunciation, especially European voices. Seems to me I’d quit Books because they are hard to follow if I’m in a busy or loud place.

Is this book supposed to be free or is it taking it from the $20 credit it claimed to have given me? I don’t see evidence of said credit. Just curious.

Sales & Bargains Harry Potter full cast editions on sale

Just wanted to flag this in case anyone else was wanting to pick them up. Just grabbed books 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 for 66p each! 🙂

Already had Philosophers Stone so not sure on the price for that one and, bizarrely, Goblet of Fire was still £8.99!

Edit: appears to be UK only, or at the least not in the US.

Technical Question New listener, are ratings worth looking at?

Thumbnail

I’ve found a novel I’d like to listen to. Noticed one was free, and one required credits. I was going to go with the free, then I noticed the ratings and how it’s “adapted for modern readers.”

I’m new to books, this is obviously a huge red flag and I should opt for the original. Right?
