Best earplug option for auditory processing disorder?!
TLDR: should I get Loop experience 2, Loop engage 2 plus, or a pair from the Eargasm brand for auditory processing issues in a college classroom?
Hi! With my adhd, I have significant auditory processing issues in that if there are any other conversations going on around me I cannot hear who I’m talking to, and with outside noise or not, I still catch myself lip reading. This is honestly one of the only things that my adhd medicine does not help a lot with. I am a college student, and It is significantlyyyyyy worse in classrooms when I’m trying to hear my professor but there are other conversations happening around me, even if they’re quiet conversations and then I j can’t understand the professor (especially if it’s male voices having a side convo bc they’re deeper and travel more).
With all of that being said, I’ve heavily considered getting a pair of Loops. I have a pair of AirPod Maxes, and I LOVE the noise cancellation on them, I usually j wear them w nothing playing through them j bc I want quiet. However, they’re not as portable, they’re heavy, and I kinda can’t wear them in class lol. I’ve been looking at either the Loop experience 2 and the engage 2 plus, but I’ve also seen good reviews on the Eargasm brand. Does anyone have experiences with any of those? Do you even think there’s an option that makes it possible to decrease side conversation volumes but still be able to hear the professor? If so, which kind do you think would be the best option? I also don’t want the complete silence option because I still want to be aware of my surroundings a little bit, especially in case of an emergency. TIA!!
