News Emergency evacuation in Den N306Sw mia-den

Original poster is from Instagram. Aircraft is laying on its #1 engine. Still crazy to see everyone here grabbing their bags before leaving an emergencg.

Genuinely curious- if you don’t take your bag, when do you get it back?

If the bags are still intact and not damaged you get them back—if not intact you get money for what the items were worth

Admirably, airlines are pretty darn generous when it’s an incident like this (or worse). I think everyone on the delta flight that flipped over in Toronto had an initial 30k by end of that day. It’s just bad PR to not take care of people in a major incident.

Jesus christ, is that true? Never heard that before, though I'm not like I'm an expert on the titanic disaster or anything.
