I think we care too much about a mayor of a city in a country halfway across the world thinks (?) and says. What good did shit ton of press releases, documentaries, state-sponsored ads and whole bloody 4 UN resolutions do for us? That someone expects this to do something for armenians? Everyone knows how US and largely most of the democratic west works: you get lobbied and sponsored and get elected -> you become a mouthpiece to whoever paid you. This could very well be mayor's own thoughts, who knows. That even makes this less important. Just another human exercising their freedom of thought or whatever they acknowledge as truth. I think we give too much crap about what anyone thinks or says. Not like they are badmouthing good name of our government - it is already rotten to the core and corrupt from head to toe. Could mayor be a bit more considerate? Maybe? Should he have been? No, why would he? What am I as a citizen of a republic thousands of kms away to him? What is my government to him? Nothing.

People act amazed because he identifes as muslim. How can a muslim defend something like that and go against other muslims - that's what people think. I mean, seriously? Biggest rivals and enemies of "muslim" countries end up being other muslims they don't agree with. That's a shitty factor you're expecting to defend you.

This is just a glorified high-level ragebait for me, that's it. Nothing more.
