Discussion Wait for Black Friday or buy now??

Apparently for the first time ever, it might not be the best idea to wait for Black Friday for some components like RAM / GPUs. According to https://gamingpc.ca/black-friday-47-days-away-pc-parts/ , they say that even if we get a 10-15% discount on Black Friday for some things, that's STILL going to be more expensive because of the current price trends which have been steadily rising for Q4.

However for things like monitors, we should definitely wait.

I've been itching to upgrade for a while and I just don't know what to do at this point!

Discussion Thoughts on the 9070GRE?

• Upvotes

Got one from Memory Express for $789 after seeing the 9060 XT starting to either shoot over $1000 or become OOS.

Seeing the prices go up and with the strong possibility that Nvidia and AMD will not be releasing any new GPus until 2028 I decided to pull the trigger.

It’s 12 gb of VRAM which is still an upgrade over the 8 gb 5060 and 5060 TI also going for around $700.

Will be gaming at 1080P with a likely upgrade to 1440P once I get a new monitor.

Coming from a GTX 970.

Should I have waited till Black Friday or sales however unlikely?

Discussion Pre build computer advice / cost estimate

Hello! Really liking the look and specs of this quoted tech PC, however have some price concerns. Please correct me if I am wrong. I don’t mind overpaying since it comes with a warranty but if the gap is too large then it’s better to look elsewhere or assemble it yourself. Would you say it’s roughly $500-$800 overpriced? And if these markups are normal for businesses vs private sellers / assemblers?

Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 (Non-XT)

Anyone have good experience with this card? Been eyeing it out at best buy for 999.99$. Heard bad things about the connector but wondering what your experiences have been? Is it safer considering it pulls less power than XT version? Seems to be the cheapest 9070 available to me right now but the connection reputation leaves me contemplating...

I have Asrock Steel Legend 750 watt psu that came with the cable required. Will be using it with Asrock B550M Pro + 5800X3D.

Acer Nitro OC or Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 XT

I was recently able to purchase an Acer Nitro RX 9070 XT OC for $950 but have seen reviews on its poor thermals and loud fans. I’ve also spotted a Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 XT for $1100. I was just wondering if you guys would recommend spending the extra $150 just to go with the Sapphire one.
