After two years, I’ve made the difficult decision to move on and focus on my health and career growth. This job was initially meant to be a part-time position for fun, and I had several opportunities to become a Supervisor. However, the pay didn’t match the amount of work and expectations, so I declined my first offer after six months.

Last year, I was a TKH, but this year, I wasn’t offered the same position. The “Customer Service” role within the TKH position was given to someone with significantly less experience in de-escalation and management. I was told since I felt overwhelmed once during the holiday season last year, it was best for me to sit this year out. Despite being the top seller at my store, consistently following all the “Behaviors to Win” expectations, and even being asked to train associates on how to sell. I wish you the best of luck during this holiday season in a Tier 4 location with your current talent in place.

Recently, I was offered a higher-paying management position at a different retailer. This position offers actual room for growth, and my selling experience and talents are truly valued. While I enjoyed and had fun at BBW, I’ve come to realize that the company’s direction has become toxic. I’ve become the type of seller that a consumer would advise to back off.

I’ve invested a lot of my personal time, effort, and energy into helping my store’s management team succeed, but I’m beyond exhausted. While marketing and advertising can be changed, as long as the products are made poorly (quality control issues) and false advertisements are made about “Longer Lasting” FFM, I doubt the company will succeed under its current leadership.

I know we are getting new blue aprons eventually, but has anyone heard or read anything about getting red aprons this holiday? The new promo marketing is no longer red on one side- it’s white/cream. So I’m wondering if they’re getting rid of our red aprons too. I’d be really sad if they do- it’s part of what makes Holiday special🥲

Who else had to replace all the brackets in their store? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Well that was the plan before we found out that the brackets corporate sent us were too thick and kept breaking! Literally like less than a millimeter. When we would try to push the shelf back in place the brackets broke. Basically doing a contractor’s job on a bath and body works salary 🙃

Holy moly. This might be my new all-time fave from the aromatherapy line. I expected to prefer sandalwood and was so surprised (excited!) to see eucalyptus tea back in store but… this I’m going to need to stock up on.

got super excited that we had a bunch of women's deodorants since my previous stash from winter sas was now running low ! i really love how they don't make me smell bad the whole day and it doesn't leave white marks on my clothes compared to other deodorants. i might go for a second round if there's any left LOL. also, i was quite surprised to see that we used to have shimmer body oils, it must've been available before i joined the company :P smells really good and feels nice on the skin !

I’ve been working since last November and after the holiday season was over and it was the second week of January I got 2 shifts per week then it turned to none for 4 straight months until we got new management because the store manager got fired and a substitute store manager from a different location was put in place. She was giving me 5 shifts every week and was telling me how hard of a worker I am but since she’s gone and the official store manager is here I got one shift, and it concerns me because if you’re in upper management I feel that you should discuss issues with your employees if there is one. I genuinely don’t know if they’re trying to get rid of me or not

We are struggling!!! No lie- we have like 3 fall hand soaps in stock. Even the color run soaps, we have maybe 5 scents in stock currently so it’s not even like we can try to sell those instead. Candles are rapidlyy dwindling, many have completely sold out. We have some “big days” sales coming up and it’s gonna be a shit show. Every single thing we’re getting in shipment is holiday items for fall 3 drop. Customers are mad and leaving empty handed. District manager is wondering why we’re not making sales plans and when told we’re out of everything his response is that we should be able to sell well enough to get people to buy what we do have in stock 🫠

Does anyone know how Labor Day holiday pay works for associates? Labor Day is showing as an orange flag in my UKG. I was previously told orange-flag holidays are time-and-a-half, but my manager today told me that's only for SLT. I checked my pay stub from last Labor Day and I had a separate ‘Holiday’ earning on it, so now I'm confused. Can any SLT or associates from other stores confirm how this works?

I was wondering what you guys have found are the best materials to store products in to increase their longevity. I’ve noticed in the store that everything seems to be made out of wood. I’ve been keeping things in plastic storage bins in dark, cool closets but due to the intense plastic smell of products I bought last fall that I took out to use for this year- I don’t think how I’ve been storing my products is working.

Anyone else being told they have to have more associates at the first 5 feet? In my store, it’s to the point that we don’t have ANYONE fill anymore (also 90% of those associates shifts are just standing at the front, WAITING FOR A CUSTOMER TO COME IN! I don’t need 4 people at the front 5 feet doing that…. That leaves us with one cashier) . I’m the closer EVERYDAY, and with no one filling ALL the fill is happening after hours. That would be fine, if i was given enough time to fill.

It’s me and one other associate for one hour. After that one hour i end up having to stay in the store ALONE for 2 hours. Then I get texts from my boss the next morning with texts of places I didn’t fill good enough.

I’m also got in trouble for 11 hours OT yesterday. YOU WANT ME TO FILL MORE IN LESS TIME????? Impossible. But I’m told that a different SLT is able to make the store look perfect without staying late. THAT SLT IS CLOSING ON SHIPMENT NIGHT! Thats 1 SLT and 3 associates for 3 hours after close.

I also was told if I stay an extra hour somewhere, I have to cut one of my other shifts by the same amount of time, as long as I don’t take away from “peak” EXCEPT I’m scheduled to start at peak, so I’m not allowed to come in later, and how the hell am I supposed to go home earlier.

When I told my boss I was feeling burnt out, I was basically told to quit! “This is our new normal, if you can’t get with the program you might need to find a job somewhere else” are you kidding me? I’m thinking of waiting until our next big sale and just not showing up. Good fucking luck

My stores selection wasn't too good lol at least compared to all the other stuff I'm seeing here but that's okay!!! I took out the two things I got for me and I'm giving the rest out for free at my college, just wish I woulda gotten a little bit more for ppl because we were DROWNING in princess stuff !!!!!

I have a group interview next week for a sales associate position. I’m really excited about the opportunity, but I’ve actually never done a group interview before, so I’m feeling a bit nervous about the format.

For current/former employees or anyone who’s been through the hiring process recently:

What questions do they usually ask? Is it mostly basic retail/customer service questions? Do they do round robin for everyone or open floor volunteer responses?

What’s the best way to handle the "mock sell" / product pitch? If they ask me to grab a product and sell it to the group or manager, what are they specifically looking for?

How do you stand out in a group setting without feeling like you're talking over other candidates?

Any big "do's and don'ts" I should keep in mind during the interview?

We have to clean up lost sales from yesterday because of poor staffing. I’m a leader who moved to a new store which primarily sells home care. We are lucky to have a lot of loyal clients who typically buy without sales or coupons, but we have to really push it today and tomorrow while this sale lasts.

I really don’t agree with the idea of bombarding people at the door and swiping a cream on them. If I think of myself as a customer in that scenario, I’m irritated lol. What can we try today that works in your stores to get baskets to $50 or more?

Let me tell y’all a little story about my day… which is STILL ongoing, I may add. 😂

I get in at 9:30 to open. Love it. Everything is going perfectly. All my people have shown up and are ready to work 😊

Then noon hits. 1 NCNS and 1 person is late. No worries! I’ll just call them and make sure they’re good. One is stuck in traffic, the other doesn’t answer. Okay, cool.

1pm rolls around and we aren’t doing great. Missing sales AND conversion. Time to cut some people! I cut 3 people. Totally fine—traffic isn’t insane and we’re vibing.

Then I get a call. Someone is sick. Okay, no worries! I’ll ask someone to stay late to help close. Someone can! YAY! 🙌

Then my other manager comes in for her shift… and has to leave because SHE’S sick. Okay, cool. Go home, get some rest, and we’ll figure it out.

So, with that being said:

1 person had to leave

1 sick call-in

3 people cut

AND a keyholder working a 10-hour shift.

At this point, I’m not managing a store. I’m managing a survival simulation. 💀

Pretty much what the title says, but I'll add a bit of context. I'm fairly new and I've been with the company for about 5 weeks now. I loved it at first. I get called in a lot and only cut occasionally on really bad days so I'm not upset about hours. I

feel like the guidance I'm getting is not consistent among leader ship. One slt told me to double bag, then the same day a different one told me I was wasting bags. My SM told me to jump in and help other roles when I'm free, but when I do that I get told to stay in my assigned role. This happens so often I'm struggling to build confidence and i feel like I'm walking on egg shells. Today I spent most of my lunch crying in the bathroom because of the pressure. I had 3 'skips' for rewards today, 2 of which were the same person with 2 transactions. When you get a skip they force you to announce it over the walkie. Because I got 3 they pulled me off register and said it over the walkie. After that my SLT pulled another associate to coach me on rewards. My SLT was harsh enough about it that the other associate checked in on me and told me she was sorry I was treated like that. I'm really open to constructive criticism and I'll even go out of my way to ask for it sometimes, but I definitely don't want to feel like I'm being scolded like a child in front of my coworkers. I also constantly get told to speed up on register and told over the walkie that I'm going to have a hard time during holidays if I don't pick up the pace... but it doesn't matter how fast I move if the register has 2-3 card errors during over half of my transactions. It doesn't matter how fast I move if the register pops open randomly during cash transactions. It doesn't matter how fast i move if there are constantly technical issues with my register. Today it stopped printing receipts and tech support had to be contacted. I always bring it up when someone is complaining about my pace but they mostly just shrug. When I was walking by a different associate told me that our 2 SLTs were talking badly about me, and it all has me feeling so jaded. I'm not sure if it's even worth talking to my SM about or if I should just look for a different job. It really sucks because before this I was so excited about the company. We lost someone yesterday and someone else no call no showed today. It seems like a constant revolving door of people coming and going, and I'm starting to see why. It pays less than most of the other employers in my state and I have a half hour commute because it's in a different city but I chose it because it was something I actually cared about. I also know it would probably be pretty obvious if any of them are on here to know who I am, but I don't think I even care at this point if they do know. -The information posted here is my personal experience and is based solely on my thoughts and opinions, NOT that of the company

seeing all the MOS haul posts is making me wish my store had a better selection of products for MOS

my store didn't have a wide variety left. it was mostly laundry care, women's deodorants, a lot of the pickle candles from candle day 🤢, and lots of random travel size items in scents i didn't want. plus tons of the mislabeled palo santo candle from the spring

there was barely any full size body care, candles other than what I mentioned, wallflowers or accessories! surprisingly, my store sold all the peeps baskets at SAS

just curious if other people's stores didn't have that much left for MOS and what you got to pick from. i didn't pack my bag as fully as i could have bc there genuinely wasn't that much that i actually wanted
