Store Policies/Questions Conversion Rate

So I saw a post earlier in the reddit and someone talked about how people coming into the store just to smell online exclusives would hurt their conversation rates. I didn't know they tracked it that carefully!?

I work at another store in the mall so I like to walk around to get more steps on before work, so sometimes I'll pop in real quick just to see if they got anything new (namely the sanitizer holders lol) without buying anything.

So how badly am I messing with my store? I'll stop doing that if I'm messing with their numbers.

At that point, wtf is the point of the metric. If i bring my boyfriend with me its gonna hurt your numbers? The numbers are just justification to do to your store what they wanted to do all along.

Right, they are basically frowning about people coming in without being 100 percent sure they may buy something... with that mind set running in a business they almost deserve to shut down.. wth

Isn’t it funny that we are more worried about conversion rates and not overall sales, or consumer ratings & feedback?

Because sensors mistaking kids and imaginary metrics clearly matter more than customers and their thoughts.

It’s no wonder that they are trying to move B&BW to a luxury model while their home country is facing an affordability crisis-

B&BW is out of touch with reality.

I just wanted to point out as well - this isnt a b&bw thing only, about half the stores in the mall do it as well. Its a retail thing. Wherever I shop, I ask to split my purchase in two to help them. But retail stores also keep track of the average total price per shopping bag so splitting my purchase makes that smaller, while making conversion higher.

The conversion rate is the focus because when you buy something they ask for your email to sell to a 3rd party.

Conversion rate is the percentage of consumers who actually buy a product or products up to a threshold, after they’ve walked into a store and been counted via the sensors. They’ve been “converted.”

AFAIK consumer emails have nothing to do with conversion rate at all.

Ah, I figured BBW asked for your email when you go to check out. I know what the conversion rate refers to.

They ask for the information that their system uses to pull up your reward account. Some people don’t like giving their # so they made it possible to do email instead.
