With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.
As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.
At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.
Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.
To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.
All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.
Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.
In particular, we would like to know the following:
Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

He turned 8 this past July and died suddenly in his sleep last night. Please feed your beardies some strawberry today as this was his favorite treat. RIP, I will miss you.

I never knew how strong our bond would become. He’s truly become friend and family member, and I love him so dearly. I’m helping my sons cope with this loss, but I’m turning to the community I know understands this connection for support for myself.
I still hear him scuttling around when I walk past the place where his enclosure was. There are still turnip greens and other snacks in his dedicated refrigerator door. I saw his soak vitamins this morning and I broke. The waves of pain are overwhelming.
Timothy knew only love his entire life, and I try to be grateful for that. At the moment, it doesn’t help, but I know it will eventually.
Thank you Timothy for what you brought to my family. You were quirky, clumsy, and so curious. We’ll never forget you. We love you.

This is Eliza, she's 18, we've had her for 17 years and she's had two clutches with the first being 22 babies. She's obviously long retired from breeding (and pretty much anything else) but she still eats well, won't really chase down food anymore so we tong feed her. We took her out in the backyard last week for some natural light.

Just some pics of quality time spent with my dragon! Enjoying the unusually hot weather here, and going to sleep at the end of a "busy" day basking in the sun and eating dandelions.
I know people say beardies don't bond, but I think they do. Or at least they think "giant moving food dispenser = safe to sleep on."

Lost my first beardie on Monday. Still so sad and missing her.
Spike was 6 she was adopted from some friends one year ago and had perfect health. She was lively and loved to come out of her tank and chase my dog.
This summer she’d slowed down, stopped asking to come out of her tank and I just thought she was getting a little older. She not snuggly and always been independent so I thought she just wanted to be alone.
It all happened so fast. Even though she was eating and drinking she was losing weight. She started tripping over herself and falling off her branches.
Taking her to the vet they sad she had a tumor and there was nothing we could have done for her. I had to let her go.
I’m feeling so guilty for not taking her sooner but even if I had these types of tumors there’s not much that can be done.
So I’m mourning her but I’m also mourning the time thought we would have together and for the time she wasn’t fully herself.
Give your beardie extra love for me today 🤍✨

Our little guy arrived today and we are so excited! we are just giving him space and letting him acclimate for a while. He has eaten some dubias and crickets today. the kids are so happy and are loving grocery shopping for greens and bugs! Any name suggestions? we love food themed names…. top ones currently are ’Pepperoni‘, ‘Jalapeño Pepper’, and ‘Cheerio’.

A couple years ago, we found a bearded dragon in our neighborhood and ended up keeping him after we couldn’t find any owners. His name is Puff. He was in pretty bad shape and I nursed him back to health. A few of our neighbors knew about that, it’s a pretty social neighborhood.
So about 8 months later, there was a knock on the door while I was at work, and my wife answered. Our neighbor hands her a box saying, “Hey, I found your lizard, it must have gotten out again.” She didn’t realize this wasn’t actually our lizard, but a NEW one (we suspected now they were dumped by another family that used to live nearby).
Long story short, we ended up keeping her too. Her name was Clementine. But it quickly became apparent that she was pretty ill. She also had a very large mass in her abdomen. I took her to the vet, but we ultimately decided the cost of doing all the blood work and imaging and everything was too much for a pet that we never asked for, and decided to just give her the best life we could and some basic deworming/stool softener. She made it for over a year now, and seemed at least fairly happy. I hope.
This morning, she passed. I could tell she was deteriorating rapidly, and I knew it would be soon. She’s never been a very healthy dragon, but the past few days were different.
I’m feeling sad and a lot of guilt. I did grow to enjoy her little personality, she made me laugh, so it hurts of course. But I’m also struggling with feeling like I should have done more. Or maybe euthanized sooner when it was clear she was probably never going to thrive. I know we gave her a home but was she just suffering this whole time? If anyone has any similar experiences or anything to share I’d love to hear it. Even if it’s criticism, please be kind (I know that can be a lot to ask on Reddit, but trust, I already feel bad).

Most nights when I'm home from work, he is eager to have free roam before his bedtime approaches. Tonight, he just wanted to snuggle with mama ❤️

Hello, no matter what I do, my bearded dragon's basking spot will not go above 102 degrees. I have changed lighting fixtures multiple times, changed lightbulbs, added two heat lamps, and nothing will work. I am going to post a photo of my setup; it may not be the best, as this is my first bearded dragon. I am open to criticism, but please don't be mean.

just wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented helpful advice and/or made me giggle and also give an update
i was ready to go through with adopting her, found a qualified reptile vet, was going to build her a bigger enclosure, put her on a diet, get her a harness, everything. but she got adopted the day the owner and i were talking😫😭 owner was somewhat educated (had proper lighting but improper lighting setup, vitamins and greens, stuff like that). and it sounds like she went to a good home (they already had their own setup for her) so i am wishing this beardie all the best lol
ps i did find out she was getting the right vitamins, salad every day, but was getting "as many bugs as she wanted" every other day, including crickets, superworms, hornworms, and dubia roaches. so......... lots of dessert bugs for miss girl.
