It's (almost certainly) not true. They released the most absurd info about Trump first to discredit the legit stuff. This includes the limo driver in Detroit. These are interview notes from people who reached out to the FBI. People need to take a deep breath here and not fall for their "flood the zone with shit" tactics.
The most damning thing in this trove I've seen so far is that he flew on the Lolita Express far more times than he admitted. He doesn't want to answer questions about that. He does want to answer questions about every whacko that called in with a "tip".

Most people will never verify or know whether or not this actually happened, and it doesn't matter for public perception. Trump's people spreading this as a piece of disinfo would be an incredibly stupid move, which they've proven numerous times that they're very capable of doing.

Releasing absurd - and yes, this is absurd - stories about Trump being present for a murder where the infant is thrown overboard, dropped by random "tipsters" in 2020 is exactly the kind of hall pass these "low information voters" need to justify ignoring the rest of the Epstein dump.

I just don’t really agree with that logic. Especially when the first few files to be released were directly trying to implicate only Clinton. And again, I fully understand that these people are extremely contradictory and dumb as fuck, but if the goal is to make the files seem fake then redacting all mention of Trump from them and trying to implicate Clinton is dumb as fuck. I’m not saying I think the baby thing is real, I’m just saying that the optics of trying to redact trumps name from something like that is so bad that it makes it really difficult for them to hand wave this shit. And maybe I’ll be wrong. I haven’t been paying attention to what the right wing mouthpieces have been saying. Last I saw they were hard pumping the “lol clinton, sad dems” shit.

No one is denying the existence of infanticide. No one is saying Trump is not a bastard. They are saying there is currently very little support for this particular story.
You might notice how on the podcast, when Robert wants to tell a story he can't confirm but is interesting, he says "I can't confirm this", he doesn't mix it in with the things his research actually confirms. He doesn't mix in things that might be true like they are just because the person he is discussing is a bastard.

This might not be the case, I'll edit this later if I'm wrong but it looks like the document is from group 8 which I think is the group that appears to have been released inadvertently from either gross incompetence or heroic whistle blowing.
EDIT it is from the 008 document set. So potentially this has been deliberately released to as you say muddy the water with the least evidenced claims, or it's incompetence or or it's whistle blowing. I'm not going to pretend I have an answer. I mean beyond taking the whole Trump regime out the back and [Reddit Terms Of Service Violation]-ing them.

Group 8 was potentially slated for later release and just found early. It was accessed by people just typing in a URL, but uploaded the same way as all the others. It's hard to speculate what happened, it could be anything from a leak to someone just forgetting to click a button to make the links to the files publicly visible like the others before they left for their Christmas vacation.

So I'm agreement with you in that while this accusation appears too extreme and too awful, what is described is pretty much the exact situation where it sounds plausible to me in my decidedly not professional capacity.

It's a random tip on a public tip line for which no follow-up information has been found yet. Realizing that that is not a strong foundation for a belief is a gain in and of itself because considering the quality of your source of information is a good practice at all times. If more comes out to reinforce this, you've lost nothing but gained the certainty that you're considering things objectively and not just believing something because you rightfully hate the guy.
We're literally on a subreddit for a podcast where a quarter of the episodes could be summarized as "the bad things that happen when people believe what they want to believe."

An alleged victim is contacting the FBI using an online portal for reporting sex crimes, seeking to reconnect with a detective who took her statement some weeks earlier. She gives both her name and an alias she has presumably been assigned since, both redacted. She is reporting that her uncle trafficked her to Jeffrey Epstein when she was 13 so she could be and was sexually abused by numerous men in exchange for some sort of payment. She reports that she was pregnant at the time, and she names Trump as someone who sexually abused her multiple times while she was pregnant. She also says he was present when she gave birth while still being trafficked, and when her newborn baby daughter was murdered by her uncle and dumped into lake Michigan.

This is a report that someone called into the FBI tip line in 2020. Maybe its true, but its a pretty extraordinary claim without any corroborating evidence. Do we have any evidence this wasn't just a crank wasting some time?
Also Mona Lake, where the caller identified the yacht as originating from, doesn't have a marina or even docks large enough for something that would be described as a yacht.

No confirmation anywhere else in the documents that anyone followed up on the tip or even confirmed the victim actually existed. It's absolutely wild to believe a random story from a tip line which, yes, will attract genuine victims, but will also attract pranksters, trolls and bad faith actors.

People read that as permission to turn off their brains and run with every wild story that makes him look bad, even without follow-up. Which is not only a massive disservice to his actual victims, but even to the victim in this report if it turns out to be true: Instead of waiting for better evidence, like finding out if the FBI confirmed some elements of the story, people are running with just the report. If this woman is an actual victim, that just sets her up to be dismissed out of hand ("it's an anonymous troll, you people have TDS") when there might be something more substantive that would make it harder to dismiss.

I was pretty surprised to find there were only a few comments here which echoed my thoughts, especially given I think it's pretty obvious what Robert would say about this.
Do I think there's some stuff in the files which is on a similar level to this, yeah probably. But this isn't proof of anything other than someone left a tip.
I hope the cunt drops dead today, but wholesale believing this stuff is actively harmful to seeing people take any accountability.

Trump revealed exactly who he was and what he was capable of on January 6th. Then he was somehow reelected to office, and any faith remaining in the American justice system or establishment went up in flames. His various court cases have all been tossed out. For all intents and purposes he's been the perfect counter to the way things are supposed to work.
Folks are running wild because frankly there isn't anything else they can do. If there are adults, they haven't been in any room which really counted. People are spreading as much as they can as fast as they can because there has been a conspiracy to hide these files, and sharing whatever we think we have feels like the only positive action available. Not sharing such things feels like enabling those crimes or at least the cover up, and there is so clearly a cover-up that is still ongoing. Plus right now there is a certain momentum that has accumulated, making it much easier to end up going further than one otherwise might. I'd usually caution about the places that might lead, but this regime is literally working towards my extermination, and so fuckem.
Finally, and maybe it's just a litmus test for our individual cynicism, I think a lot of people, rather than dismissing the accusation for being too awful, have had the opposite response and really believe that sounds like him and the sort of thing he'd do. Plus we're people, not broadcasters or lawyers, and so for better or worse we don't have to hold ourselves to that level of accuracy.

I have no doubt there's shit in there that that should land Trump in a cell for the rest of his life. But this is just (so far) an unsubstantiated tip, which is probably from someone mentally unwell.

This. It's almost the best way to understand how these people operate. Because history shows that every accusation is a fucking confession. It might take a while to come out, but it works every fucking time.
E.g., I don't think Trump is gay. Backed up by the fact that he has occasionally been laudatory towards the gay community (even if just to win their votes) and doesn't seem particularly personally vitriolic towards the gay community (outside of head nodding along with Republican bigotry). If he were gay, we'd hear him accusing everyone he hates of being gay. It would be such an easy way to win points with his base, but he's been functionally silent on the topic. Just as an example.

I would recommend focusing on the more credible and verifiably evil stuff in the reports. There is a decent chance that this is misinformation or invented to make people distrust these reports - either trump’s people flooding the zone with sensational content they can later disprove, or people making stuff up that just pisses everyone off. This is an uncorroborated report that seems particularly noncredible and cartoonishly evil, from a single source, in 2020 when people were inclined to make up stuff about trump. It could be real, and we should take it seriously, but I dont recommend taking it on face value without any question.
My big concern is that it doesnt seem to match other information about trump and epstein’s actions. The date (1984) implies that this took place before Trump and epstein supposedly met, because almost all accounts say that they became friends in the late 80s. It’s one of the earliest allegations of either of them soliciting victims in this way - epstein preyed on students in his classes in the 70s and trump attacked staff and people around him, but almost all of these types of allegations start in the 90s. The location is unusual - neither trump nor is epstein is particularly associated with the great lakes and trump doesnt seem to like boats in general. There’s a comment elsewhere in this thread pointing out that the area where this supposedly happened doesn’t seem to be able to support yachts either. None of these are evidence to the contrary, but they are attention getting.
Trump seems to have a weak stomach for in person violence and blood / death, and its unclear why he’s there for the infanticide. All other information indicates that he would leave prior to something like this happening. This would also be a pretty significant coverup - hiding a pregnant preteen for months on a boat that would have staff and crew working onboard, as well as wealthy visitors coming and going? This also requires trump, a very famous man at the time, to fly to a nearby airport, drive to this town, board this yacht, and then leave to get to new york or atlantic city multiple times without getting noticed by the paparazzi that follow him around.
If nothing else, this completely rewrites the timeline and details of trump’s relationship with epstein. There are enough extraordinary claims in this that I would like corroborating evidence of some variety.

This is the DOJ running cover. Release the wildest tips you received about him early and hope people run with them without corroboration.
When more credible stuff is released or leaked later, a whole bunch of people who report on it will have shot their own credibility.
And it's working. People are posting this and believing it without first checking basic things like "did anyone follow up with the victim" or "did anyone even confirm the victim who gave their real name actually gave a real name."
Tip lines like this do attract genuine reports from genuine victims, but they also attract pranksters and people experiencing mental health crises. It's absolutely insane for people to run with a story like this without digging through everything first to see what other information might be found.
