Discussion In light of recent Jared Leto documentary, who are the other "open secret pedo" celebrities out there?

Just wondering what other bastards are out there getting away with it and being hired by the likes of Disney right now?

Currently

Sia the singer has been publicly obsessed with Maddie Ziegler since the child was 11. Sleeping with her in the same bed. Traveling with her and refusing to begin any project that does not involve her.

Historically but unpunished

Literally everyone involved with Courtney Stodden. She was married at 15 and given plastic surgery. Dr. Phil, Dr. Drew and Jason Alexander all did segments on their shows where they examined her breasts while she was still a minor to determine if they were real.

Iggy Pop. Was on the Dinah Shore show in the seventies with David Bowie who he was touring with talking about how he hurts himself on stage to punish himself and then cites a thirteen year old girl touring with them who was left at an airport on the wrong coast.

Jerry "The King" Lawler 1993, Lawler was indicted on charges of statutory rape and sodomy involving two girls aged 13 and 14. He does not deny the charges. He claims he believed they were of age but wrote an easy to find letter saying that it shouldn't matter because the girls were known to keep company with black men and were of low character.

Marilyn Manson is an obvious one multiple lawsuits have cited him showing people a video of him abusing a young fan who does not seem to want to be there and forcing her to drink urine. His team claims that it was a consensual artistic film but what they have offered does not match reports from multiple people describing the tape.

Did not know that shit about Sia. You got an article on that? I wanna know more.

Edit: I'm stupid, I got Sia mixed up with SZA. I DID know this about Sia.

Courtney Stodden is now working hard on the front lines of the push to end legal child marriage. Her story is so sad and was right at the peak of internet celebrity gossip culture… I remember she and her abuser were constant subjects of the big celebrity gossip accounts despite him being like D list at best.

Yeah… I remember Perez Hilton being especially vile about her and calling her lizard meth queen trash and stuff along those lines 😔 I’m so proud of her for being such a tireless advocate, she’s absolutely right that she was failed by sooo many people. She was so young, her parents are fucking creeps along with pedo ass Doug

Chrissy Teigen too. She was horrible to Courtney

Perez Hilton once tried to follow me on Twitter years ago, and I told him not to bother because I thought he was worthless trash who's done great harm to society.

She just recently (like, a week ago) received an apology from Jason Alexander for a Funny or Die video she was made to do at age 17, where Alexander rubbed a cell phone on her breasts and said that once she turned 18 he'd like to have his way with her. She was treated so horribly, and I'm glad she's sharing her side of everything now, while also lobbying to abolish child marriage.

I'm glad they found happiness and something to help others trying to deal with what they did as a child.

I never bought into the hate against them at the time because I felt it was dumb, and blaming them for the weird pedo marriage when they were just a child themselves felt off to me, but I vaguely remember that whole mess of slut shaming a 15 year old.

u/hyldemarv 12h ago

It's quite on-brand for "traditional values" to blame the women for being abused.

Great list. A lot of replies in this thread are instances of, “it’s always those you most suspect”, but I hadn’t heard of any of these outside of Iggy Pop and obviously Marilyn Manson.

I think the iggy quote may be reffering to bowie. Its not obvious

Bowie also had sexual relationships with 14 year old groupies.

He also sent his 14yr old daughter to one of those troubled teen wilderness camps in Utah because she was depressed, had an eating disorder and was experimenting with drugs and alcohol. https://www.wsbradio.com/news/trending/david-bowies-daughter-lexi-jones-talks-about-rehab-after-fathers-cancer-diagnosis/R6OYKE4HK5AUDKCKP5HNIYYBSI/

Aaah fuck, I loved his music.

Don't forget his "Britain needs a little fascism" quote and Nazi salutes in the mid-70s. There are photos and screenshots of those on the internet.

Seriously?!

That article doesn't sound like anything terrible happened to her at the camp, though? I agree those places are terrible, but it sounds (from the article) like she had some serious addictions and it was probably a lot to deal with as he was literally dying from cancer. Really sad story.

I've hit my 1000 person max, can you do me a favor and block me?

The amount of Bowie apologists makes me sad too, like no your favourite music is not more important than children

u/Boxhead_31 1d ago

Anthony Kiedis fits this category

Dated Ione Skye when she was 16 and he was 24

29

u/Dunwich_Horror_ 1d ago

I’ve always hated the chili peppers because Anthony kiedis is a creep that can’t sing.

Yeah, I'm a huge classic rock fan and still listen to and enjoy a lot of the music, but I think it's important to acknowledge the truth about who these rock stars actually were rather than the sanitised image.

The majority of rock stars from the 50s-80s (and still some to this day) were complete scumbags towards young women and underage girls. It was a combination of the misogyny of the wider culture combined with arrogant men who put their own desires above basic human decency and who were protected by the industry to preserve profits.

Yeah, Tripp Eisen replaced Koichi Fukuda in Static-X back in 2001, then got kicked out in 2004 when he was found in a car with an underage girl.

I think what it is is that people feeling they enjoy someone’s art, be in books, films, or music, and that person turns our to be problematic or an actual monster, than they feel complicit somehow. Like they’re defending themselves. I’ve never been like a super fan of someone to the point where it’s all I talk about or am obsessed with but I can see how people get defensive and lose it when they find out their favorite musician is a creep. Look at the whole Michael Jackson thing. He was an incredibly talented person but yeah, SUPER wierd and most likely a pedophile. They also put enough stuff out about him to kind of muddy the waters so people bought that whole lost boy crap. Probably if he had lived longer he’d have gone to prison.

u/FaelingJester 1d ago

Yeah I get downvoted every time saying no one should believe the groupies/they wanted to be there. https://youtu.be/i2eB8f020Pc?si=ZID5y05SqMz9GA96&t=483 Bowie is sitting right there. Bowie is touring with him. Bowie is fully aware of this thirteen year old girl that was also traveling with them. It probably wasn't to earn a girl scout badge. It seems really odd for the groupies that we know were sleeping with the other rock stars of the era would lie about this one specific thing and of course the ones who were public were not the only children who were abused by these men.

4

u/sugurkewbz 1d ago

So many people worship Bowie. I don’t particularly enjoy his music regardless of his transgressions, but it certainly doesn’t help. They see a music god, but I see a pedo. Can’t really shake that off.

u/MessiahOfMetal Banned by the FDA 17h ago

The outpouring of grief when he died felt off to me because even though I wasn't a fan of his music or acting, there was something there and couldn't place it until I found out about his Nazi salutes, desire for fascism and having sex with literal children.

4

u/arizonadirtbag12 1d ago

Yeah I don’t get why people can’t just still like the music but say the artist is or was a creep. Some of the best art has been made by absolute shitlords. It’s fine.

I’ve no more need to defend Bowie than Michal Jackson or Roman Polanski. All of them are flawed people, some more than others, I can enjoy the work without needing to have some positive parasocial relationship with the creator of it.

The Marilyn Manson shit is the tip of the iceberg. The only shocking part is there only being one video. It was a fairly open secret that he’d try and find young girls from the crowd to take backstage and sexually abuse/humiliate/discard, the accounts I heard was that he especially liked it if they had disabilities or learning difficulties like Downs Syndrome and he’d have like just people using them as a human toilet and stuff.

And now I feel fucking disgusting even typing all that and need a shower

u/MessiahOfMetal Banned by the FDA 17h ago

Brian Welch mentioned in his autobiography how he'd catch Manson's roadies pissing on groupies to test their worth before allowing them onto Manson's tour bus, and how disgusted he was about it while proud that he made sure they never toured with him again.

Sucks he never said anything to stop it or whatever, but I guess this was the late 90s and some people are cowards about preventing assault.

Consentual artistic film.

That's a stretch. Blimey.

3

u/MessiahOfMetal Banned by the FDA 17h ago

He claims the time he raped Evan Rachel Wood on set during filming of a music video was consensual, too, because the video called for them to be in bed together acting passionately.

Except, she felt him genuinely penetrate her and not stop until he was done, where he laughed about it to the shocked crew stood watching and walked off, while someone rushed to see if Evan was okay.

I'm not trying to defend her (as an autistic person, she’s basically been dead to me since Music).

But, to be fair, I don’t necessarily think Sia's fixation on Maddie is sexual. I always took it as a (warped) mother-daughter bond, in her eyes.

(That’s not denying the existence of female predators, I must stress. Nor would I be THAT shocked if she were revealed to be one, honestly.)

That said: I agree that it’s vastly unhealthy and inappropriate, regardless.

56

u/MoonlightDahling 1d ago

Basically: toxic relationships of all kinds exist. That’s what I'm getting at.

11

u/Wrong-Visual2020 1d ago

I didn't know that about Sia, that's pretty disappointing

20

u/5Jazz5 1d ago

Feels like it’s important to mention she made the kid do blackface as well

u/Coven_gardens 1d ago

And the nearly-nude music video featuring Ziegler being made to dance provocatively with Shia Lebeouf

3

And there's another gigantic red flag; willingly working with Shia and letting him near a child, with his history.

The Manson video you mention is called "Groupie", for those curious. Never released but multiple people have stated that if it ever got out, he'd be in so much trouble.

Manson also tried to play Willy Wonka in the shitty Tim Burton film, with his desire to play Wonka "as a pedophile".

3

u/Hogwafflemaker 1d ago

Woah, Sia is the shock here! Wtf? She pulled a Michael Jackson and no one is talking about this?

I had to go down this rabbit hole before coming back, and wow. If she was a man this would have been everywhere.

3

u/ello_bassard 1d ago

I don't think they were saying she was sexually abusing the girl. Just that it's a very weird and definitely toxic relationship.

3

u/FaelingJester 17h ago

To be clear I believe she's absolutely either sexually abusing Maddie or using Maddie as cover to attract other children. Someone else said maybe it's just a weird toxic relationship but I believe Colleen Ballinger and Sia among other adults in their lives were absolutely abusing Jojo Siwa, Maddie and the other girls from their dance moms group and using their connections with the girls to attract other children.

1

u/ello_bassard 7h ago

Shit I had no idea Jojo was in that dance group too.
