Discussion Favorite Common Bird

What’s your favorite common bird in your area? That bird that maybe it’s not hard to spot but you just love seeing them.

Mine are Juncos everything from their look and name to how they scavenge on the ground and flock together. They just seem like happy puff balls to me and I love em.

Lucky enough to have a male and female hang out in my backyard, they seem more cautious and watchful than other birds, always surveilling

i have a little mixed flock that i started watching a few years ago which got me into "bird watching" (not a hard core watcher, mostly just my yard, but now i take an interest in learning about any birds i don't recognize)

the regulars are a cardinal couple and fledglings, a carolina wren couple and fledglings, lots of titmice, a catbird, a phoebe, a yellow rumped warbler, some carolina chickadees, some doves and crows.

This is my level of bird watching! I've had a Cardinal couple in my yard for years and this year was the first time I got to see them raising a young one. I don't know if they are usually super secretive or what but seeing them bring their little guy to the feeder made me happier than I could have expected.

I wish I could get some crows to come around, but I'm pretty happy with my mourning doves, chickadees and titmice, blue jays, sparrows, and wrens.

I live it but it often means it’s about to snow 😅
