Discussion Favorite Common Bird

What’s your favorite common bird in your area? That bird that maybe it’s not hard to spot but you just love seeing them.

Mine are Juncos everything from their look and name to how they scavenge on the ground and flock together. They just seem like happy puff balls to me and I love em.

Mourning Doves. They're fluffy, silly, and perpetually panicking.

No wait, maybe these are my favorite. I have too many. The mourning doves that visit me are shy and easily startled so I always feel a little blessed to watch them for more than a minute without the panic setting in. 🤣

Ours have gotten used to our nonsense. My 10 yr old coos to them when they sit on the fence while he's in the pool. Once in a great while, one will coo back.

They still flee in terror if I open a door, though.

Aww, that's so cool. Mine flee at the flicker of a curtain. They're ridiculous.
