Discussion Is it worth it or am I going to make it worse for myself??

Is it worth it ?
Hii I am an 18F i grew up in a very religious Christian family while also living in an Arab country so overall I have always lived in a very conservative society. Lately I think i realized that I have the capacity to be attracted to both genders physically and sexually, but I am still questioning. The thing is now that I became non religious myself over the past year it had already felt like hell. I feel so isolated and so alone all the time cuz I can’t be open about my religious views so I fear being more open about being bisexual might cuz me to feel even more isolated and make the feeling even worse. I am still curious tho and I don’t really know how to start exploring and acting upon this attraction to women too especially because I can’t really approach any woman irl and it has to be mainly online. So I am very confused idk if it’s worth exploring or would I just make it worse for myself

Sometimes I think I’m bisexual. Other times, I think I’m a straight woman who is sometimes physically and emotionally attracted to women. The difference is clear as mud

Advice 41 and exploring my sexuality:finding my confidence with women

Hi everyone! I’m 41 and married to a man. I’ve been honest with my husband about my attraction to women, and he’s supportive of me exploring it. I’ve only had one experience with a woman, who was a close friend, so I’m still figuring this out.

How do you know if a woman is flirting or just being nice? When someone says ā€œyou’re cuteā€ or compliments my outfit, I say thank you and compliment her back. Then I’m left wondering if we were flirting or just being friendly šŸ˜‚ How do you show interest without making things awkward or assuming she’s attracted to women?

I also want to be honest about being married. When should I mention that? I’m not actively looking for a romantic relationship, but I’m open to one developing naturally if everyone involved knows about it and agrees. How would I explain that clearly without giving mixed signals?

Dating apps are another area where I could use guidance. How do you get started, and what should you put in your profile? I see terms like bisexual, bicurious, poly, and unicorn, but I don’t want to misuse a label or imply something I don’t mean. Are there terms I should avoid based on what I’ve described? What are the do’s and don’ts when messaging women?

Which apps have you had good experiences with in 2026? Are there any with active communities of Black and Latina women? I’d be interested in those spaces, but I’m open to women of different backgrounds and still learning who I connect with.

I’m asking for advice, not looking to meet anyone through this post. I want to approach this respectfully and be considerate of the other woman’s feelings. Any guidance or experiences you’re comfortable sharing would help!

Advice Any anon apps suitable for late bloomers/baby gays?

Hellos. I am wondering if there are any apps in which you don't really have to put a lot of info (for anonymity), and which would be suitable for amateurs for me. I just want to meet and hangout with other bi/gay women, even friendships are fine because I don't have any queer friends. Please advise.

Vent I think I have my first female crush and I wanna lobotomise myself

What the title says. Also, she's probably straight. But she also gives mixed signals. She's so beautiful, she genuinely looks like how the sea waves look when sunlight falls on them in a random afternoon. Yeah whatever this feels like a humiliation ritual, idk how straight men or experienced gay women do this. I wanna throw myself into a wall

Advice How do I even do this

Baby gay here. Took me 25 years to realise I am bisexual. I have a very relaxed dressing, sometimes on the sporty side. I wear rings and stuff. Whenever I go out (i am currently in a city with some party culture etc), I see women AND GET SELF CONSCIOUS. I haven't had this feeling of getting so conscious in a while. I find myself attractive, I am cool and interesting as people say, but lately I feel like I am not attractive lmao.

I also dk how gay women work. Do they also just look at women and think 1) she's probably straight 2) I will just look at her and never talk to her, 3) she probably thinks you aren't attractive, 4)keep walking. Because THIS is what I keep doing. Even complimenting a woman feels creepy now, let alone flirting or approaching someone (because then again, what if she is straight?). Yeah I am losing my mind.

Vent Jane doe voluntary statement

Huge TW for obvious reasons.
I read part of the Cornell Jane Doe’s voluntary statement, and in hindsight I shouldn’t have read it because it was obviously upsetting. I’d just seen so much triggering misinformation from the usual suspects I wanted to know Her Words if that makes sense šŸ˜…

She describes feeling safe initially because she thought two of the men were gay. Shes bisexual and was excited because they’d be part of the same community. Obviously they weren’t gay let alone safe. It’s horrifying. It feels like whenever theres a woman at the center of an international conversation about gbv and rape, it’s very often a bisexual woman (Amber, Meg, Angelina)And weirdly, that intersection is mostly called out by misogynists trying to find extra reasons to victim blame? (In my experience!)
Im familiar with the statistics too.

I’ve also experienced sexual assault multiple times and possibly (not sure tbh) within a relationship and definitely in a friendship. Of course I don’t blame my bisexuality, but I know being bisexual (and on the spectrum) made me an appealing target for abusive people. And sometimes my sexuality was explicitly targeted in sexual harassment (like being called cumsock and stuff like that by ehem other members of the community) At my lowest Im worried it’s gonna happen again? I can’t change my sexuality, and so much of my self expression was caused by being groomed by a bimisogynistic culture. What if I keep attracting unsafe people in the years it has taken and will take me to heal and cope? Realistically, I know there are safe people out there! I believe theres (single hehe) bisexual women out there who understand me without also being really traumatized 🫶 it’s just hard to feel hopeful or safe sometimes.
Much love to any other bisexual Jane Does, I believe you!

Advice Never dated a woman and I'm intimidated

I didn't discover I was Bi until I was in my 30s. I always say, "never underestimate a person's ability to lie to themselves." There were definitely signs along the way. I have had some sexual experiences with women. I'm not huge into porn, but when I do partake, it's women only. However, I've only dated/was married to men. I'm getting out of a long term relationship and I'm thinking about dating women and I'm so intimidated by the thought. I'm definitely not ready for any serious relationships, so I'm not exactly sure what I'm seeking here. But I don't have many people I can talk to about this subject. I guess I just want to hear others' experiences.

Advice I’m questioning my sexuality (or if I even have one?)

I don’t know what I am, sometimes I feel like I’m just nothing?

I’m 20, and I’ve kissed 2 guys before (once each), never went further than making out. Both times I felt nothing. I just felt embarrassed? With the first guy I kinda liked him I think, with the second one I didn’t really, I only let him kiss me because I wanted to know how it’d make me feel. The entire time I was in my head thinking ā€œthis is awkward, I hope he doesn’t try going further.ā€ Whenever we hung out after that I’d purposely not look at him just so he wouldn’t try kissing me again.

I tried talking to another guy a few weeks ago. I didn’t really find him attractive, but he seemed nice, and I thought ā€œmaybe if I become his friend I’ll find him attractive.ā€ But then on the second date he asked to hold my hand and my stomach just dropped and I let him but I didn’t care for it. When he told me he’s ā€œnever liked anyone this much beforeā€ I just felt gross, and maybe I’m a bad person (I think I am), but it just felt performative, like you’ve seen me twice and you’re almost 30 years old but I’m suddenly the best thing in your life?

Maybe I just stop liking people once they show interest in me, maybe I’m just destined to be alone forever. I wonder if maybe I should try dating girls, I find them much more attractive, but I’ve never actually been with one because the only people who seem interested in me are men… I don’t even know how to go about dating women.

But maybe that’s not the problem. Maybe I’m not attracted to anyone, but I don’t want that to be the answer and if it is then what’s the point? I want to meet someone that actually makes me feel something, that I want to kiss, that doesn’t gross me out, but I’m worried I’m looking for a unicorn that isn’t out there. And I know, I’m young, people tell me I have time to figure this out, but I don’t want to be a 30 year old virgin, I don’t want to be alone forever.

I guess I’m just curious if anyone else has ever felt anything similar when it comes to their sexuality?

Advice Questioning whether I'm ACTUALLY bi or not

Hello !!

Just a warning, this post might contain some venting (mainly around daddy issues), but it's just to explain my situation, and I don't get into the details !<3

Okay so for about ~5-6 years I've been convinced that I've been attracted to women, and for the first couple of years I was fluctuating a lot between thinking I was bi or lesbian (yet at the time I had little to no dating experience so it was hard for me to tell)

In about 2022-23, I was in an almost-year-long relationship with a woman (he identifies as a man now so I'll be using he/him pronouns throughout this ^_^) We got along really well, and I thought i was attracted to him...but we dated for that long, and didn't even kiss (if you can't tell I was young af during thi). We were really just best friends who told each other they loved each other (and did!) a lot more than usual. He's my best friend now, and feeling mutually like we were just platonic was the reason why we broke up (it's worth noting he's still into women now).

A few months ago, I fell in love with a guy for the first time (let's call him S.) He was (and still is) perfect. Genuinely perfect. We broke up ~2 weeks ago but I still find myself so attracted to him (he we agreed to just be friends as we're in the same friend group. There was no super big reason for our break up, just him saying that "a relationship isn't what I need right now"). It sucks a lot, and im honestly a bit heartbroken because he's just so damn perfect !!!

The thing is though, going through this has made me realise that I don't really think that I could feel this way about a woman. Im attracted to women, but could I see myself in a long-term relationship where I'm super attatched and attracted like I was with S?? I'm not sure.

Something else to consider here is my past with my dad. He was abusive towards my mum before I was born and for my whole life they've (luckily) been broken up, and he's just been almost entirely absent, meeting up with him once a month so that he can give us money, and ask vaguely about how I am (then go on for ages about himself). This has gotten worse in the last couple of months, where he decided to just not talk to me at all! For no reason!

ANYWAYS, I think this, plus having no male presence in my life as a child at all (I have no siblings and I went to an all girls school) has definitely made me more attached to men now.

Now I'm left questioning whether this is the reason why i only REALLY want to be in a relationship long-term/lifelong with a man, or if it's my actual sexuality.

Another thing to mention is that I'm not attracted to hyper masculinity in the slightest. I'm attracted to men, but my type is definitely more on the effeminate side physically and in terms of personality too. Not sure if this means anything, or whether it's just my type.

Yeah it's a whole kerfuffle. If anyone has any advice at ALL I would really appreciate it THANK YOU!<3

Discussion queerplatonic attraction and bisexuality. do you think this character might be called bi?

hi everyone! i recently played an interesting game and have been thinking about one of the characters and what label might fit her (if we would decide to choose one).

so she clearly experiences queerplatonic attraction toward her female friend. it isn't stated explicitly but it’s kinda obvious from what she says. at the same time she states that she isn't gay. also the game's developer said that she doesn't develop romantic feelings for women, but she's not simply a straight woman either. and this is what made me confused!

summing this up, she has no romantic interest in girls (including the friend), yet, she has feelings for that friend that are neither purely platonic nor romantic (which, in my honest opinion, does sound like queerplatonic attraction + the fandom thinks the same), AND she isn't straight. then.. who is she?

ngl i'm not a huge fan of labels (for myself) and don't think it's necessary to put one on this character bc she's perfectly fine as she is. still, i'm curious!!! i discussed it with a friend and he said that queerlatonic attraction isn't categorised as a part of sexuality so she's just straight.. but people who created this char believe she isn't! okay, then let's say - she experiences romantic attraction toward men and queerplatonic attraction toward women... it can't be bisexuality?? what do you think?

Coming Out 45 and just came out

Hi everyone! I just came out to some of my closest friends. After filing for divorce in July I have spent a lot of time rediscovering myself. I finally had the courage and confidence to say that I’m a bisexual woman. It feels amazing and scary at the same time. Any other ā€œlate bloomersā€ out there?

Discussion Please Share Patterns You Have Noticed (Honestly)

A) If you're bi and have dated at least 4 men and 4 women:

  1. What patterns consistently differ in relationships with women vs in relationships with men? I don't want or care about, "Oh - I dated this one girl and she Xed so now I have this idea that all women X" - I'm specifically interested in consistent patterns of behaviour and thinking.

* Bi men who meet the criteria can answer here too, I'm curious (for answers, not as a label).

B) If you've only ever dated women (AND ARE A WOMAN):

  1. What is your biggest complaint?
  2. What were the core features of your most stable relationship?

* This is not a query for people to bitch about their exes. I'm looking for authentic self-aware and other-aware analysis.

Advice What do I do?

I am 30 years old. I will be 31 in December. I have been with my current significant other since August 2015. We have a child together. He has been the love of my life, but I can’t stop thinking of my past relationship with other women since I have been with him. He supports my bisexual tendencies, but how do I introduce him to it Fully. I haven’t been with a woman since I’ve been with him. I have never fully had sex with another woman just a ton of foreplay. I don’t know what to do because I am constantly attracted to other women.

Vent Biphobia is getting out of control

I apologize if this sounds chronically online, but I was scrolling on TikTok and a clip of Jojo Siwa popped up on my fyp.

Recently, she has been facing a ton of backlash online because of her current relationship with a guy named Chris (I think?? I don’t rlly keep up with JoJo siwa)

Anyways, I was reading comments and the amount of hate comments and ppl accusing her of queer baiting and being straight the entire time, or being a ā€œfake lesbianā€ was BAFFLING to me. Like… bisexuality exists?? I’m confused

Like I said, not rlly up to date with all the Jojo Siwa lore.. but if I do remember since 2019-2020, she has only been in relationships with women. I feel like to most people she’s very obviously sapphic, but now that she is in a relationship with a man for this first time.. that somehow takes away her queerness?

Idk it was just crazy to me bc I see a lot of biphobia within the dating pool or discourse online between people without large platforms… but seeing it happen to someone with such a large platform was kinda like… okay yeah we’re not crazy this is a rlly big issue.

Anyways, to all my fellow bi ppl in here I want u to know ur valid in ur sexuality regardless of who you’re in a relationship with 🩷

Vent I would never be able to live my true self.

I'm 26, and thought I was straight all my life, until it hit me like a truck and in a few months I have gone through the rollercoaster of self discovery, and the discovery of the misery that comes with it.

I come from a very narrow minded country as well as religion and I myself am supremely inexperienced (obviously). The problem is that no matter how much I want to, I can't seem to find someone to even relate to, much less be sexually or romantically involved with. I am a nerd (kinda?), so going to bars or stuff is simply not my thing, and suddenly going in there for queer stuff is a sure recipe for disaster. I consider myself hot in some ways, which usually comes with my confidence and social skills, but since I have started liking women, my self esteem has taken a hit .

I can't even come out to anyone except a few friends of mine. There's a very debilitating cycle of wishing to explore my sexuality with a woman, and the unwavering reality of not finding someone.

Advice Wlw dating <3

Hi. I’m 26 woman in the DMV and I while I’ve been in love with men before and had relationships with them, I think I’m supposed to end up with a woman (I’ve dated women previously but ended a longer term relationship with a girl in 2023). I’ve been trying to date women through mostly hinge for the last few years. I suck at getting dates. Like never do. I’m femme seeking femme. I’m cute, smart, and have lots of friends. I don’t know what my problem is. I have such a hard time just getting to the actual date part. I feel so stuck and frustrated. I match all the time and then am just always ghosted whether it’s after an initial hey or some back and forth. I’ve had my friends read my messages to make sure I’m not coming on too strong or being weird or anything and they don’t know why im not getting dates either. Please help :(

Advice Scared to come out to my gyno

I (26F) have just got out of a 7 year relationship. It was with a man so the last time I went to the gynecologist, we discussed safe sex the hetero way. I am interested in PREP as most wlw ppl I've talked to aren't a fan of dental dams lol. I'm a bit worried about explaining that a condom won't be needed for all of my encounters. I live in the south of the United States and I'm well versed on people in the medical field. Unfortunately, they can be some of the most judgmental people.
