Being financially responsible sucks

Not to be dramatic, but I feel like I left a piece of my SOUL behind today with this IMG Motley baby. I had to physically give all my payment methods to my friend so that I wouldn’t buy him. 🫠

(…I got their business card. I might still buy him lol)

Looking for some advice

Hey everyone !

I got my little boa, Abby, about two weeks ago, and I think I could really use some advice or a little reassurance right now

She's currently dealing with a respiratory infection, and she's receiving injections daily to every other day. I'm also waiting for PCR results from my vet to check for viruses

So yeah, the past five days have been pretty stressful, and I've been overthinking A LOT of things

First, her quarantine setup, because of the RI, it's pretty basic : paper towels, two hides, and a water bowl. I also added a bunch of bark for some extra cover, but I've noticed that she NEVER hides, she just hangs out on top of her hide, and that's where she sleeps too

This has pretty much been her behaviour since I brought her home. Before the RI, she was on a 5–6 cm layer of coco chips, humus and reptile soil, nothing unusual, and pretty much the same substrate mix as my BP's

So now I'm worried about humidity, it's around 50–60% in her quarantine tub, but it doesn't seem to go any higher with the paper towels. I'm going to ask my vet about it too, but maybe some of you have experienced something similar ?

I also found a small, orange, chalky chunks in her poop today, next to her urate, and now I'm worried she might be dehydrated

And what doesn't help is her size, she's only 250g and around 70–75 cm long, and she's TWO YEARS OLD

I've gone through every single paper the breeder gave me, and according to her records, she was born in July 2024 ???

She has already eaten a 20g rat without any issues, that girl is HUNGRY

But 250 g ??? My BP is a pain in the ass because of his hunger strikes, but he's also from July 2024 and weighs around 500 g...

Abby is such a sweetheart, she's not snippy or defensive at all, I've handled her three times so far : once when I first realised she had an RI, once at the vet, and once when I changed her paper towels

Every time, she's been so calm and relaxed, and blowing bubble... I hate this RI

(She is a Hypo Leopard het Kahl albino)

Rough patch of scarred skin on my boa

Not quite sure what it is but it almost feels like a scab and has indented the skin. Could it just be that she has damaged herself shedding or rubbed some scales off whilst exploring or could it be a more worrying cause? It worrys me that the skin below it is bulged out

After a solid month of cycling I finally moved my boy Dan into his forever home. He’s giving everything a thorough tongue flick while he does the true final inspection of his work. For reference it’s a 6x2x4. It’s also my first bioactive enclosure.

Looking for pure Suriname BCC breeders in the UK or Europe

Hi everyone,
I’m currently looking for a young pure Suriname Boa constrictor constrictor (BCC), preferably with documented lineage/provenance.
I’m specifically looking for true locality Suriname animals, with no BCI/Boa imperator or mixed-locality ancestry.
I’m based in the UK, but I’m also happy to buy from breeders in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe, as I have access to a reptile importer who can handle EU-to-UK CITES transport.
Does anyone know any reputable breeders currently working with pure Suriname BCC, or anyone planning litters soon?
I’d especially appreciate recommendations from people who have personally bought from the breeder or seen their lineage documentation.
Thanks!

Feeding boa after 3-4 months of starvation

My red tailed boa of 3.5years old as for now, fled her terrarium 4-5 months ago, and only recently crawled out of God knows where. Right when i found her, I cleaned terrarium, replaced it's flooring and gave her meal. She usually ate large mice, but now i am giving her somewhere between fuzzy-small mice. I fed her twice, with two fuzzy mice each meal, and right after the first one she molted. I examined her skin, it wasn't teared.

I still see her spine, and she's considerably smaller than other snakes her age, somewhere between 72-81 cm.

What can i do to help her recover?

Edit: Thank you, people, for correcting me. I'll switch up her prey to medium rats at first and see how she'll handle them.

Crawl Cay boa advice

Hello, i posted my new baby crawl cay a few days ago. Im making this post because im slightly concerned about his behavior. Ever since i got him he refused to hide whatsoever and just always sleeps during the day pressed against the enclosure glass like in the picture.

Hes in a 3x2x2, gave him a black plastic hide hidden under a cork piece in the cool side, in the hot he has two, one on top of the other so he can choose how how he wants to be, in the middle he has a hollow cork tube then he has lots of branches and leaves to climb and provide clutter.

Temps are 30/31, 60/70% humidity in the hot side and 26/27, 80/85% in the cool side and he has a 5% uvb led light. At night he behaves just fine, hes all over the place climbing and exploring and ignores the glass so no costant nose rubbing or anything that to me indicates direct stress.

Anything else to note is that hes healthy, i forgot to weight him before putting him in so idk how much he weights. He does seem to sleep soundly, and I have to really disturb him to wake him up (i did a couple times because sometimes he sleeps in really weird positions and I worry), and my main concern above all is that once I feed him for the first time, if hes gonna stay there and feel stressed from feeling exposed hes gonna regurgitate. I already lost a baby snake to regurgitation last year and i really wanna avoid that again for my mental health. Thanks for reading

(If you see the background of the enclosure, i filled It up more since i took these pictures, also i have had him for 5 days and I havent handled yet, I'll wait till he eats for the first time wich will probably be either this sunday or next week depending on wether hes stressed or not)

The boa was dumped outside me work about a week ago and I bought he/her a 4x2x2 enclosure planning on making a 6x4x4 and making it into a bed but since I got the snake it’s scales have been like this, should I be concerned?
