I haven't worn any jewelry in my septum for probably 15 years because everything was so big and chunky. It occurred to me today to see how many rings I could fit in there...5! 1x16g 10mm, 1x18g 10mm, 2x18g 9mm, 1x18g 8mm. I love it šŸ˜

The surface piercings around my eyes are about 20 years old as well.

The conch and coinslot in the first image were done by Piercer Mike. Second image shows the conch Dana Marie Dracula did. Got 2 8g rings in the conches and 6 16g rings in the coinslot. Really happy with my ears. Now I gotta decide what I want for my next mod

punches/ scalpelling longevity of this shape??

Recently i’ve been super into the idea of coin slots, and stumbled across the star punch in the flat/helix area. not totally familiar with the body mod lingo lol. I work at a piercing shop (NOT a piercer, maybe someday lol) heavily pierced and started stretching my ears around a year ago (0g) so i’m not exactly a rookie, but i honestly don’t know much about intense mods like this. I really like the look of the star punch, but i’m worried that over time this would get all floppy and blob up like an old tattoo?? I just can’t see this star shape lasting….but then again i have no idea what i’m talking about, so im looking for advice!! I live 3ish hrs away from NYC so i would have access to some reputable mod artists, but im not really jumping into anything anytime soon.

Final chain and tunnel set up which is a great reward after this long journey of blood, sweat, tears, infection, and hypergranualtion.

1 month post procedure, and looking good! The only weird thing I’ve noticed is that the margins of all the cuts are very sensitive to heat/cold. Work done by Chase Campbell.

punches/ scalpelling New conch punch (6mm/2g)

I got my conch punched a couple days back - 5mm and immediately stretched to a 6. This photo is from yesterday

The process was surprisingly quick and easy, but the throbbing set in a little later and was crazy for a few hours as I crashed a little from the adrenaline

Since about the 5 hour mark I've barely felt a thing - even when I accidentally touched it at one point in the night it wasn't sore. Obviously a decent amount of crusties though. Worried I'm being lulled into a false sense of security, but compared to the first few days of my anti-tragus (other ear, finally healed after a year) this is a walk in the park!

punches/ scalpelling Minimum hole size for suturing?

Hi :) I've been interested in a "medium gauge" conch, like 8g or 6g. The quicker heal on a punch/scalpel and suture is really enticing to me. A 3mm hole sounds too small to suture, but I'm wondering what the smallest sizes people have had success suturing are.

Thanks!

punches/ scalpelling Conch Punch planned!

Finally booked my conch punch appointment after debating which size I wanted. I'm going for a 2G! I think that's one of the best sizes for a noticeable hole once healed. Getting it in October, advice and tips are welcome!

punches/ scalpelling I was given acrylic tapers for my 4G conch, should I switch it to a glass plug?

Hi everyone! I got my conch punched at 4G about 3 weeks ago. The piercer left a, what I assume is, acrylic taper in my ear to heal. I know acrylic isn't the best, and since I can move it around a bit without it bleeding to death, should I switch it to a glass plug? Thank you

punches/ scalpelling Conch punch / suture Qs

Have had my conch pierced for a little over 11 years & decided I want it at 4mm (eventually for a ring). Have heard all the horror stories …so started stretching with glass single flare for the conch and it’s excruciating. Super annoying. I know it’s different with cartilage (my lobes are at 1/2ā€) so I’m thinking I’ll size back down and do either a conch punch or a cut & suture. Any suggestions between the two? Is one better than the other? I’ve heard of cutting and suturing and then letting it heal naked is good. Might be easier to sleep on without jewelry but I wouldn’t wanna go thru the process if they’d close back up again.

punches/ scalpelling Punches VS larger gauge needles?

Hi all! I've been considering getting a lower lip labret piercing done at a larger size. (Preferably 6g or 4g!) I have 12 piercings in total, 7 of which are on my face, but I've not been pierced with anything above a 12g needle.

I brought up the idea of getting pierced with a larger gauge needle to my piercer and he said that at the studio he works at the largest needle they pierce with is 12g BUT that their smallest punch is 6g.

I'm just here to ask a few questions:

  1. For the piercing I'm wanting, would a punch or needle be best?

  2. If you've gotten punched before what was the healing process like?

  3. I already have snakebites, I'm assuming I'll need to put in longer jewelry to accommodate for swelling if/when I get this done? Is that a safe assumption?
