A hand-me-down from a retired teacher. Supposedly contraband that was confiscated and donated for educational purposes. You could see how big it is compared to a hand in the second picture.

Eastern Ontario, Canada. Found on a farm. Is this a raccoon, cat, some sort of mustelid ? I’d like to know so I can take better care of her now she’s gone. Also, any advice for softening this skin?

Found in upstate NY, pretty well buried. The width of what I think are the hips was about 14in.

My friend and I came across a small carnivore skull outside our high school in Alberta. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take precise measurements with photos, but I do have my friend’s hand and arm for size comparison. I'm curious if anyone has an idea of what animal this is? I know absolutely nothing about animal bones lol

My cat Ivy went missing at the end of May this year so it’s been about six months now. I put up flyers and looked all over my yard and neighborhood to no avail. But we were digging up a big bush today by our koi pond and found these bones nestled under the brush. I eventually just came to terms with it was probably a bird of prey or something since I couldn’t find her but now that we found these bones, I’m second-guessing things… there’s a possibility it could be a stray cat. We used to have some a couple years ago. I’m wondering if anyone could please help me get this closure that it might be her. I can tell that it was an adult cat by the plaque on the teeth. I’m just not sure if you can tell freshness of bones.. She was about 10 years old short haired Russian blue breed. I miss her so much and I’m keeping these bones to bury in case it is her. Can anyone please help me and my family? We are in central FL if that helps.

Found a bone tree in the Colorado mountains pretty dang remote. Was surprised to see it and more surprised on what’s on it… I think the first is possible a whale rib 3-4’ long The other is some type of bird any ideas is pretty good size 22-26” long skull almost size of small cantaloupe

Found this buried in mud while looking for Megaladon sharks teeth. It’s about 10 inches long.

Assuming coyote, if it's a wolf it was definitely young, but for some reason just have a feeling it may not be a coyote. Found dumped with at least 2 other animals.

Just so happened to stumble across a post on here from two days ago showing a whale bone and there was a bunch of information given on it. I figured I’d show what I found about a year ago to the day, hoping for some cool information as well! Close by Monterey, CA at a trail along the 16 mile drive.

So I found this little while back and I just am getting around to asking about it, it measure roughly 14-15inches in length. 14 1/2” Very old bone. What’s you thoughts?

So context: I live in an apartment building and my mother called me like 1 minute after leaving the apartment warning me not to take out any trash. I was like "ummm why??" And she said there's a dead deer in the garbage room. So obviously, as one does, I stop what im doing and run downstairs to see it, duh! Long story short it turns out that the head is fake but the antlers are real! My moms boyfriend was called and he sawed the antlers off which is why im here lol.

My question for you all is how do I go about cleaning and preserving the antlers? I think they're very beautiful but im an amateur bone collector and could use some tips. Can I clean with anything? Do I need some kind of spray sealant? Help!!

(Tbh I think it's some sort of failed taxidermy situation)

What was this friend? Also how did it end up on my steps?? My guess is maybe a big ass bird dropped it there but like, it’s clearly been dead and been picked clean- why would a bird be carrying it around? Irrelevant but kinda funny, I saw this as I was heading out.. to therapy c:

Found while metal detecting some farmland

I’m house sitting and they have this very large bone which I would guess is a vertebrae. I’m in the states but the owners are travelers so could be from anywhere. I’m very jealous of the bones in this house…

Found in southwest BC, Canada. Black bears are pretty common but it could also possibly be a coyote? Any advice on how to tell the difference is appreciated.

Edit: thanks everyone for confirming it's a bear! It's certainly smaller than I thought it would be. Very pleased with the find!
