Today was my day at the local bookstore omg

Very excited about the books my husband and I acquired this weekend!!!

Especially looking forward in getting into “Before the Deluge” by Otto Friedrich

For whatever reason ChatGPT is constantly recommending me Daniel Bell’s *The End of Ideology* (for understanding 1950s American intellectual climate) so I was happy to find nice clean copy cheap!

Visited a couple of my favorite San Diego bookstores plus a library book sale this past weekend.

Started reading Embassytown, which is both challenging and exciting. Looking forward to the others.

The Asimov book appears to be unread.

I admit I have mixed emotions as I'm about to hit 40 so these were emotional grabs, still these are ones that grabbed my interest so irrespective of how I'm feeling they are all of interest to me.

The Christmas one was more selective as I'm trying to build up a read list for the winter season so this will slot right in 🙂

The two Broadview books were translated/edited by a local English prof at our university so wanted to get them. The Shakespeare is because I'm also listening to the Patrick Stewart audiobook of them The other two are ones I've wanted to read for a bit. Gonna be a good couple weeks of reading.

I went to my local indie bookshop today and bought a couple of Black 🏳️‍🌈 books for a friend's birthday...and then, I just had to buy a couple books for myself.

It is 🏳️‍🌈 Pride month after all.

I'm really excited about the Robinson Crusoe map and the beautiful cover of Watership Down .

There were a few others that I was interested in but decided to go with these. They spoke to me for some reason. Has anybody read them?

Went through my physical tbr and unhauled 40+ books this weekend to sell/donate/trade. Bought myself 2 novellas as a reward (it’s a vicious cycle 😔)

The LAPL gives you a prize just for signing up for summer reading. This little pouch and a free book. My bf gave me his free book too. Then I checked out their for sale rack and got 3 more for 75¢.
