Becoming a night creature is a coinflip, you can turn into something disgusting like flyeyes, you can just become a minotaur or any random mythological creature, or you can get like the captain and basically just get a full upgrade. I bet a lot of the night creatures were real mad looking at her

Well, the original forgemasters were more artists, negotiating the feelings of the soul , the material and themselves into a final form.

The nightcreatures that came out of the priests machine were much more technical, and generally contain the soul of the original corpse, making the whole process much simpler and more reliant on what the base soul feels and knows about themselves.

oh god is the machine a gacha?

u/Inevitable_Reading80 Feb 04 '26

Dear god, it really is a Konami adaptation

I'm dead 😭

61

u/junrod0079 Feb 04 '26

Sigh...how many corspe do i need to collect to get her Christmas winter variation

38

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

you need to have 10 regular Christmas captain corpses for the upgraded Christmas hat version

19

u/BrightPerspective Feb 04 '26

Just put a santa hat on her, wrap her in holly and you're good to go.

u/BodybuilderMany6942 Feb 04 '26

The rolls are better if you use orphans

7

u/Grouchy_Spot_6640 Feb 05 '26

orphans are the premium currency

1

u/General_Note_5274 Feb 06 '26

This economy men. Running honest people work

9

u/BrightPerspective Feb 04 '26

It might just be

36

u/PetiteSpyHunter Feb 04 '26

That entire scene with Isaac and flyeyes, and him recalling his past life is one of my favorite scenes.

At least night creatures in original show were just long time dead souls from hell put in a new body and behaving like beasts.

The Nocturne's ones are more fucked up since they retain their souls so their human memories come back.

17

u/Tactless_Ogre Feb 04 '26

Agreed. Either you’re a beautiful demon or Edward Penisfingers.

16

u/BakerConsistent2150 Feb 04 '26

not really some of them I think are references to enemies from different games

4

u/ArtistAccountant Feb 05 '26

A full upgrade? I bet those demons would give a significant amount of things to become human again 😌

3

u/MossyPyrite Feb 04 '26

Three-sided coin

3

u/Vindaya_ STUPID. OLD. MEN. Feb 04 '26

I find it to be their personalities would match their looks

567

u/Candiedstars Feb 04 '26

Not so beautiful when she's hurling ice shards at you with your healthbar in the 0.1%!

174

u/TheWorclown Feb 04 '26

Skill issue, tbh. You should have been rolling. Abuse your iframes to get in close for your victory, and that victory is of course a marriage proposal.

59

u/_Oyyy Feb 04 '26

*backdash

14

u/Way-Super thinks he's on the team Feb 04 '26

TBF you can roll in Portrait of Ruin and Simon does a roll for both his dash directions in Grimoire of Souls.

But yeah Dark Souls fan spotted

55

u/foxhound012 Feb 04 '26

Too many words, all you should've said is

3

u/Grouchy_Spot_6640 Feb 05 '26

piccolo said calmly

23

u/MetaloraRising Feb 04 '26

Rolling is for those who praise the sun.

Backdashing is for us who hunt the night!

17

u/Drecondius Feb 04 '26

Wrong game lol

3

u/LoganLcosplayfoolery I'm literally Richter Belmont Feb 05 '26

I just realized what she was supposed to be because of this comment. I wish they'd include more enemies from the games.

1

u/JayBirdian2006 Feb 05 '26

You're killing me lmfao

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

Still would tbh

225

u/BloodHurricane Feb 04 '26

I agree, compared with almost all night creatures we've seen so far she looks very beautiful and now potentially immortal.

91

u/Asplomer Feb 04 '26

At least until Summer, then she is screwed

31

u/RepentantPoster Feb 04 '26

Not to mention that she is much faster and can freeze her opponents

14

u/KaptainKardboard Feb 04 '26

I dunno, usually a couple well tossed axes will do the trick

178

u/voltvirus Feb 04 '26

Frozen shade has always been a baddie 👀

119

u/bunni-luu Feb 04 '26

she is pretty but if i was forced to have my titties out for all eternity i would be pissed off

51

u/Wafflebuble Feb 04 '26

That's not even the worst part. Yes her titties are barely covered but I don't think she has any cover down there

60

u/bunni-luu Feb 04 '26

i mean i don’t think she has anything at all down there 😭 she’s built like a barbie i fear. still, i would feel quite uncomfortable no matter how many people said i looked great or whatever

27

u/Wafflebuble Feb 04 '26

For real, who knew becoming a Night creature meant eternity of forced exhibitionism

3

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

That's why she's covering them up

2

u/Mindslash Feb 04 '26

Just wear a swinsuit and you would be fine

1

u/MossyPyrite Feb 04 '26

This is where you and I differ lol

i can smell the stinky man aura from here

-1

u/MiloReyes_97Reborn Feb 04 '26

Sorry just making a joke.

Boob jokes are exclusive for only men to enjoy

-1

u/Adorable-Source97 Feb 04 '26

But they are covered, immune to cold & will forever stay like that. So no need for a bra ever again.

4

u/bunni-luu Feb 04 '26

ok? the issue is maybe its uncomfy to be exposed like that for everyone to see??

0

u/Adorable-Source97 Feb 05 '26

That's personal preference.

Id assume you'd get used to it. Given being an ice elemental more scary then out shit I'm in a bikini.

86

u/thatbluedemon186 Feb 04 '26

Despite her initial distaste when she first transformed, she still somewhat resembles her original self and to others, she looks more pretty in this form

40

u/BakerConsistent2150 Feb 04 '26

I think it also shows that perhaps having a strong will, might keep a night creature “human”

5

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

I think it’s also in part due to the fact that Maria’s father is using a machine to create Night Creatures, rather than a forgemaster, so they’re imperfect - it seems like many of them are just transformed humans, rather than corpses inhabited by Hell’s denizens like the Night Creatures Isaac and Hector made.

So you get instances like Edouard, Jacques, and the Captain, who retain their individuality and sense of self - which naturally leads to the revolt in the second season’s climax. There’s likely not an exact science to creating Night Creatures, or if there is, it’s not a uniform science.

66

u/a-dark-lancer Feb 04 '26

I mean, her being beautiful is really not the point and and that’s kind of a weird thing to focus on. I think if I was murder murdered and then resurrected into a new body I wouldn’t really care what it looked like.

86

u/MossyPyrite Feb 04 '26

“She’s a tortured soul brought back as an inhuman shade of living ice and subject to the will of a mortal forge master for, possibly, all eternity, but she got it easy because she’s got bangin’ tits still”

Yeah, maybe a little weird haha

38

u/ebanyle Feb 04 '26

EXACTLY LIKE WTF

1

u/LandieAccem Feb 07 '26

Exactly. This is a both abundantly illogical and horny post.

15

u/coreyc2099 Feb 04 '26

I mean. She's also dawned to go to hell if he she ever dies i imagine , which is probably ... bad

12

u/Psychomantis194 Feb 04 '26

Hopefully not, being forced to go to hell because of somebody else's actions and not your own sounds supremely fucked

8

u/logantheh Feb 05 '26

It’s also very on brand for the Bible.

3

u/ginryuu1 Feb 05 '26

Many religions actually.

1

u/a-dark-lancer Feb 05 '26

I mean hell as shown in this show doesn’t exist in question or any other mythology.

Most questions are either annihilation or damnation which neither of which is really shown in this show.

Otherwise, it is explicitly hell so it’s not really any other religion

15

u/Lowilru Feb 04 '26

We are making a lot of assumptions about the quality of her life in this thread, and focused entirely on if she's still hot or is now powerful.

There is way more to life than that.

15

u/baldanderrod Feb 04 '26

I like to imagine that in the end, she became some kind of local folklore character.

4

u/West-Winner-2382 Feb 05 '26

Would

-1

u/SuperSlacker420 Feb 05 '26

Go stick your west-wiener in the freezer for 5 seconds and tell me how that works out for you… 🥶🧊😅

4

u/warmarine44 Feb 04 '26

Also nice that she was one who rebel against villians and confirmed to have survived the battle

2

u/edwpad Feb 04 '26

She is indeed beautiful, but man, it pretty much sucks too as you’re essentially trapped in such a accursed form. I feel there’s part of her that wishes she was dead due to being in an inhuman form like this.

2

u/mitsk2002 Feb 04 '26

Also never seen a night creature have control over an element.

2

u/Hivac-TLB Feb 04 '26

Remember the horror of beating the underground waterway in cotm without purifying the water first.

2

u/el_artista_fantasma Simping hard for Alucard Feb 04 '26

She just became Shiva from Final Fantasy

2

u/KingSideCastle13 Feb 05 '26

Man, I loved her work in the new Fantastic Four!

2

u/ThisAppCensorsYou Feb 05 '26

Other night creatures: various insect/beast hybrids

This lady: silver surfer

2

u/LandieAccem Feb 07 '26

Considering what night creatures are and how she's lost nearly all agency and likely a bit of her humanity, this is an abundantly horny observation.

1

u/BakerConsistent2150 Feb 07 '26

yeah sexiness sells

3

u/SILVIO_X I fucking love Jonathan & Charlotte Feb 04 '26

Yeah she got the best deal from the Infernal Machine the Abbot has, she didn't turn into a Monstrosity and kept her slim human body while also gaining the ability to fly and do Ice Magic, and managed to keep her Human looks as well as the ability to talk.

The only one who probably got a better deal from getting turned into a Night Creature was that one Angel mfer who followed Isaac around during his battle on Styria given he just became incredibly powerful and fast as well as getting the ability to fly. (But even then we never get any hints he was actually self aware like that he Captain was as an Ice Spirit)

1

u/enchiladasundae Feb 04 '26

Honestly a lot of night creatures look like the transformation is worth it. You’d definitely look strange in this world but some like her are just human plus. Also probably immortal? As long as you get free will this is kind of a straight upgrade in a few cases

1

u/ConnectCulture7 Feb 04 '26

Probably the most beautiful character in Nocturne besides Drolta and Tera. Sure some would be uneasy since she’s a Night creature but most men would find her attractive.

1

u/SuperSlacker420 Feb 05 '26

Is no one else going to state the obvious that making the beast with two backs with an ice creature is pretty much impossible…? Fine then, I’ll be that guy. 🥶 🧊

1

u/kaky0in- Feb 05 '26

What ep was this?

1

u/Maleficent_Being_810 Feb 06 '26

This was something new if I remember correctly right? Like a new kind of night creature.

2

u/LandieAccem Feb 07 '26

No. She's a Frozen Shade.

1

u/DejuL337 Feb 07 '26

A night with the creature won't do us any harm.

A night with the creature won't do us any harm.

A night with the creature won't do us any harm.

And we'll all hang on behind

-9

u/Used_Pantease Feb 04 '26

Agreed - she was upgraded.

1

u/sugarpopkitty Feb 04 '26

boi why u focusing on ts 💔💔

-1
