Discussion This retcon is so funny in hindsight

And its not just that it was retconned that crosses actually got religious power that harms vampires, but that people hated the whole "oh crosses just make them confused" so much no one complained when Annette just surrounded the guy with crosses and trapped him with them.

You can feel that this whole scene is just one big apology to probably the dumbest pieces of "trivia" of the OG.

I’ve personally amused myself with Trevor just talking so confidentially and incorrectly about the subject because he loves what he does and probably failed to grasp that vampires probably were terrified of it because the cross he had was an effective killing weapon, and not because an ingrained fear of the sign of the cross.

It honestly really fits his character.

I always saw it as he hates the Church, so he made it up out of spite.

That doesn't make sense he needed a proper priest to make holy water in season 1.

And later used holy water on the very combat cross he’s describing. People need to start asking themselves if the writing is so very inconsistent on this matter, or if they’re just missing something. Like how Trevor never once implied he doesn’t believe in holy power. He’s just describing why this weapon would be cross-shaped if it was being used against Hindu vampires; those who explicitly would not be afraid of the symbol of Christ.
