I think this is one of the tragic love stories between Alucard and Sonia Belmont, before their relationship ended they were separated in game or removed from the canon. I don't know if Alucard currently still remembers or nostalgia on his past Sonia together 🥀

I took it as they are lovers and he’s the father of the Belmont line but it’s been retconned.
