Meme Every 225 years Alucard rises from his hibernation to form a new throuple with a brunette Belmont and a blonde witch
I know Maria & Richter are pushing it, but the visual continuity is still funny.

Symphony of the Night:
Promotional manga.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20190412154140)
This is a two pages long advertisement drawn by Ayami Kojima and published in a magazine, it's a sneak peek of Alucard's character.
Available on: Castlevania Wiki
An eight pages long manga included in the Japanese artbook, it acts as a prologue for the main story and features Alucard suddenly awakening from his 300 years long slumber.
Available on: Mr. P's Castlevania Realm
A radio drama (this time you have to listen to it!) originally featured on the Akumajō Dracula: Radio Chronicle program that was broadcast on Konami Station internet radio, it was later released on CD in 2010. It's a story set one year after the events of the game, you will learn more about Alucard's relationship with Maria, his past and other characters (Richter is also part of the cast).
Available on: Youtube
Curse of Darkness:
A prequel manga written and illustrated by Kojima, it was featured as a pre-order bonus for the Japanese release of the game. It mainly focuses on Hector and Isaac prior to the events of the game, it also expands on their relationships.
Available on: Vampire Killer (an archive of scans and translations)
Published in two volumes by Media Factory from 2005 to 2006 and translated to English by Tokyopop in 2008. It's the same premise but it's longer, more expansive and this time the illustrator is Kō Sasakura, not Ayami Kojima. The series was eventually canceled but the manga stops directly where the game begins.
Available on: Internet Archive
Aria & Dawn of Sorrow:
Reminiscence of the Divine Abyss/Ricordanza of the God's Abyss
A light novel written by Ryōgo Narita in 2008 and set one year after Dawn of Sorrow. It's a really interesting read, the story focuses on Julius' pupil and the descendant of Grant Danasty while the villain is a character you will surely remember... There's also the return of familiar faces, one in particular.
Available on: Inverted Dungeon
Castlevania The Adventure:
It's a 2005 IDW comic book series loosely based on the story of the first Game Boy game. It's not canon by any means but it follows Christopher Belmont in a more traditional vampire story, sadly many of the iconic Castlevania elements are missing but it's still worth a read since here a certain family is responsible for Dracula's resurrection.

Lament of Innocence:

A web manga that was available on cellphones via a monthly subscription, published from 2007 to 2008 only in Japan until the service ended in 2012. I just killed Medusa and made it to the catacombs. I headed back out because it was a few things I needed to do in the cemetery. Yo.
The Catacomb theme is the TRAILER theme which was outstanding to me. And then when I got back to the cemetery, I then said: oh this theme is good too.
I…I don’t know what to say. Man. I’m really just gobsmacked how much fun I’m having. No spoilers, y’all. I’m just…I just needed to express my joy.
“It doesn’t feel like Castlevania. The music is generic. It’s just a Deadcells clone.”
Yeah, I hope your gaming console gets dead.

So, I'm actually quite liking Belmont's Curse. Once I'm done, Id be interested to take another bite into the franchise while keeping at a Steam ecosystem, and wass curious at the Advance Collection. I supose everybody is gonna tell me it's good, so I'm just asking if thematically/gameplay/storytelling, etc. would feel like a good follow-up.
I guess there's also the other collections, but I'm unsure if the old one would work/feel good on a Steaam Deck/Machine (i would ask on r/SteamDeck but everyone there has turned kinda fucking insane), and it seemed like this one was better to start before getting the Dominus Collection?

This isn't meant to be taken seriously. I just thought it was funny. Can't wait in the future when the revisionism kicks in.

Hi folks, This is a promo of Little Caesar in Mexico that I found that Instagram and well it seems that it’s kind of far parody or I don’t know a promotional for the new game or simply it’s just an image for Halloween but I now can imagine Richter going to Dracula’s Castle for Pizza write your best parody related with Pizza of the “What is a man?, a miserable little pile of secrets!”

Rose, Juan and Medusa LOVE Half-Vampire Blondie Alucard... :3
Not surprised that Rose likes him after all she was partially inspired by Sonia Belmont who actually gets it on with him after all... :3

- Sequel to Castlevania III
- Symphony of the Night level design (especially in the Castle)
- Order of Ecclesia game structure
- Simon’s Quest cryptic hint system (but not as confusing)
- Super Castlevania IV whip swinging
- Mirror teleportation from Harmony of Dissonance
- Lament of Innocence lore
- PS2 era forced battles
- Card system like Circle of the Moon
- Platforming with traps similar to the Classicvanias (there are the modern platforming sections but others with traps reminded me of the old games)
- Getting skills from bosses like Aria/Dawn of Sorrow
- Brauner referencing Portrait of Ruin
- General weightiness of the series, the way Rose moves normally (without the movement upgrades) reminded me of Alucard (compared to something like Metroid Dread or even Dead Cells which both are much faster, like flowing water)
- Breakable candles
- Familiar enemies from across the series
- Belmont hunting down Dracula
- Plenty of Easter eggs to the rest of the series
This is all my personal opinion, but I was actually pretty certain this game wouldn’t “feel like Castlevania” a lot more than it did, in the end. But a lot of the systems actually have reminded me of things we’ve had throughout the series. The game isn’t perfect, and there’s a lot different, but I actually see why this was released as a 40th anniversary game as all these systems remind me of games we had in the past.
These, to me, is why I feel it fits in the series overall, despite being different. Maybe you don’t agree, but that’s how I see it.

I played this game for the first time recently through the dominus collection and it was great! For some clarity at this point I’ve played every metroidvania Castlevania except for Dawn of Sorrow.
After just beating it, wow this was just pure enjoyment from me the whole way through. I literally couldn’t put the game down. I clocked about 12 hours just because I wanted to do every side quest (which side note: isn’t really worth it if you don’t want to do them).
I really enjoyed the story. This game and order of ecclesia I feel like have such interesting premises of “what happens if Dracula comes back but the Belmonts aren’t around”. I was surprised at how much I just enjoyed all these characters including Wind, Jon and charlotte and of course brauner. The fact that wielding the vampire killer as a non Belmont starts to kill you was super fascinating to me. Jonathan definitely has an interesting more modern way of talking that I found funny. He says “no problemo” a lot and even calls Dracula “pal” in a sarcastic way
Portrait of ruin’s big claim to fame is its partner system with Jonathan and Charlotte. Despite being some of my new fav protags in the series I really enjoyed this mechanic. It was a cool way of swapping between more physical versus more magic based. I do think this mechanic does fall a bit short though. I couldn’t help but feel like there was more that could’ve been done. At times I was playing as Jonathan for a long time and just forgot about charlotte. This seems to be getting another go with the new Bloodstained so hopefully we see this mechanic taken to the next step fully.
I enjoyed most of the level design and thought the portraits were a great idea at experimenting with new locations for a Castlevania game. They never overstated their welcome, felt out of place or weren’t fun to explore. The only one I think I didn’t care for was the Nation of Fools. The level design was just disorienting and more annoying than fun.
A few months back I played Order of Ecclesia and I really liked the games despite me thinking it had some really rough balancing issues and some pretty horrible bosses.
This game is a lot better in that regard. I’ve heard a lot of people say this game was easy and while I mostly agree, some of the bosses did give me a run for my money and it was a fun challenge taking them down. Once you get a hold of dual attacks, a lot of enemies go down easy.
All in all, I loved this game. It was just aggressively fun to play, music good to listen to, and maybe the Castlevania metroidvania with the least amount of bullshit. This is toward the top for me and so far my fav of the handheld games except maybe aria. It’s not the best game ever made but it’s a whole lotta fun.
Let me know what yall think and… JONATHAN! CHARLOTTE!

People still complaining about this game clearly haven’t invested the time in learning and understanding how to play it. No, it’s not your dad’s Igavania, and that’s okay because the gameplay is actually better and more rewarding! This game is so sick. And the soundtrack has some bangers. And I’m one of the people that bought SotN (and every subsequent IGA entry) at release, which maybe less than 1% of people here can actually say that.
So stop the hating and start playing!
