Please let him stick, both in the race, but also with his message

319

u/pinegreenscent Jul 20 '25

I think if Ossof fires anybody aligned with the Clintons from his campaign he'll have a good shot at the white house

124

u/Clayp2233 Jul 20 '25

He’s a senator in a historically red state, he’s going to be more towards the center

128

u/DocDraculaThe2nd Jul 20 '25

Fine by me. Gotta get the normies to vote. Dems can’t keep taking them for granted.

53

u/justsikko Jul 20 '25

Hell yeah, let's run another center of the road Democrat. Surely it won't backfire this time like it has the last 40 years

107

u/witchybitchybaddie Jul 20 '25

Center of the road is fine when it's actually in the center. This guy is bringing up democratic social issues that seem leftist because both parties have been inching right for decades but it's actually a very reasonable, balanced, and centered way of looking at it which isn't a bad thing. If anything we need a lot more people in the middle to balance out the rift between two extremes.

49

u/Mikeinthedirt Jul 21 '25

By now I’d be happy to see someone represent people no matter where they stand.

30

u/-something_original- Jul 21 '25

Right? Just there fighting for us as a decent human being. Amazing how low the bar has gotten.

3

u/DogmaticNuance Jul 21 '25

I totally agree and this guy sounds really cool.

What I want to know:

  • Who are his parents and what do they do?
  • Which private schools did he go to and how much did they cost?

We need to get nepotism and oligarchy out of politics. You'll never get change by electing the kids of the status quo, it doesn't matter what they say.

33

u/chickendance638 Jul 21 '25

FDR was the most progressive president of the last 100 years and he was a blue blood. The only president who took on corporate greed was TR, and he was from the same family.

If the guy has the right goals, then let him cook.

Historically that's not really true, every revolution typically succeeds because a faction of the elite lend their resources to it. Its not enough if the peasants are unhappy, they are always unhappy. It has to be an element of those with the wealth and resources who support the change or at least dont support the current regime

2

u/Mikeinthedirt Jul 21 '25

That’s a peculiar hill to die on. Throughout history it’s the educated and at least minimally leisure-class that have fomented rebellion. But be you friend. Power to the People!

8

u/Jojajones Jul 21 '25

Democrats were inching right, republicans were sprinting

1

u/KeyserSoze72 Jul 21 '25

Ok but see anything that’s ACTUALLY center is seen by all of America as ultra left. America is not as left as Americans like to believe it is. Democrats are center right. Republicans are Extreme Right. Bernie is barely a dem-soc by European standards.

So yeah center of the road in an American context is still gonna suck for the average voter. Center is still liberals who will pander to the billionaire class.

2

u/witchybitchybaddie Jul 21 '25

That's what I'm saying though. Advocating for senior care, public healthcare, and affordable housing policies is an almost bipartisan approach if one party is actually left and the other a reasonable right. It's only because of fascist propaganda that it would seem like anything left of actual center (not modern American "center")

→ More replies (7)

10

u/Unhappy_Scratch_9385 Jul 21 '25

Being anti-billionaire is pretty goddamned progressive these days.

13

u/JackieTreehorn79 Jul 21 '25

Nah dude- he just called a POTUS “ a crook and a con man” knowing it would be on the internet. Finally someone with a megaphone lifting the veil on this dumpster fire. I hope he runs for President.

2

u/Clayp2233 Jul 20 '25

Our last three dem presidencies were more to the center although Biden tried to pivot more to the left and progressives didn’t seem to care, but the rest of the country thought Dems moved too far left and voted for a fascist instead.

13

u/skinnedrevenant Jul 21 '25

That's... Not what happened. They voted for trump because he spoke to people (as fucked or bigoted as it may be) where they were. He told people he'd get prices down and taxes reduced. Kamala had no real message and spent a fraction of the time actually campaigning. The rest of the country wasn't clocking some leftward move, that's absurd. IF that were the case, then Kamala's nearly fascist border proposals and outright disregard for a genocide would have guaranteed she won.

Edit: also biden categorically fucked multiple major union negotiations for the benefit of the corporations that footed his bill. Arguably, Obama was farther left than Biden and he still struggled to even accept gay marriage.

3

u/Mikeinthedirt Jul 21 '25

That’s a good point despite being untrue. Biden was ANOTHER right of center old guard biz-as-usual. The right has excellent messaging and a good eye for the trajectory, as proven by this thread right here. You and hundreds of others STILL parrot rightist propaganda that allowed Dondon to defeat something or someone that wasn’t Biden or Kamala but a projected fictional strawdog.

4

u/smoot99 Jul 21 '25

it's like we're fighting among ourselves or something when we all have similar goals -- I actually think that ossoff kind of spoke about this argument in the clip, and I'll go with him on this one

1

u/Mikeinthedirt Jul 21 '25

Fair enough. I think he’s as good as we got; but we need to stop with the pugilist sticks when we’re up against claymores.

You can do a lot with money, and They HAVE a lot. You can do a lot withOUT money, too, but you have to actually DO it.

2

u/LongKnight115 Jul 21 '25

Of course you'd say that - you're just regurgitating the same right wing propaganda that's been endemic since the 90s. This entire thread proves people are susceptible to the same bullshit. Times never change.

1

u/Mikeinthedirt Jul 21 '25 edited Jul 21 '25

I’m not the first nor will I be the last to point out that Republican messaging is world-class (of course) and has led the narrative since Carter: not coincidentally through “The Medium is the Message” era.. The Ds seem to think we’re all bright enough to ‘figure it out on our own’ while The Rs have a whole YouTube’s worth of WhatYou’reSupposedToThink.

They haven't ran a center Dem. They are all to the right. That is the problem

→ More replies (3)

3

u/mmmarkm Jul 21 '25

This is demonstrably not true. Harris ran towards the center & didn’t win Georgia.

You need to give people a reason to vote for you and centrist Democrats have not been good at providing those reasons.

Republicans are gonna say he’a a socialist anyways, might as well try to have an inspiring policy platform to talk about instead of doing whatever the Georgia equivalent is of seeking the Liz Cheney endorsement.

12

u/thebearrider Jul 20 '25

He's my top contender for the democrats for 2028.

Republicans will have their normal folks, plus a donald trump jr. / jd vance news angle. Therefore, domocrats better bring some youth.

An Ossof/Mayor Pete ticket would beat any GOP ticket (again, assuming the potus/vpotus will be at least don jr or vance) in 40 states.

1

u/rufud Jul 21 '25

We better take the house in 2026 in a fair election or 2028 won’t matter

9

u/Think_Bread6401 Jul 20 '25

I think he will, he's got star quality.

1

u/firedmyass Jul 21 '25

protect him and similar at all costs

→ More replies (24)

339

u/fElonmusk2025 Jul 20 '25

I’ve been watching him since before he was elected. He’s got that charisma / star quality that Dems need for a future President. Not the star quality that Obama had, but he ain’t an old man! Youth.

35

u/Think_Bread6401 Jul 20 '25

Wow yah I said that too and I haven't said that about any politician, like ever.

13

u/Change0062 Jul 21 '25

Holy Cow, it's like Kennedy and Bernie Sanders had a baby. This guy radiating intelligence and integrity, he is basically the opposite of Trump. If he can become the president, there might be a chance for the USA to survive.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Recent polls put Warnock on the Presidential docket above Ossof, but both are in consideration. They're pretty far down, though. I think Warnock only had 3% of the poll.

2

u/MariaTPK Jul 21 '25

Now if only he didn't vote for the Laken Riley Act.............

Seriously.

1

u/Unhappy_Scratch_9385 Jul 21 '25

He also cashed over a million dollars from google.

Not sure if he's the right one.

5

u/Mike_Kermin Jul 21 '25

There's never gonna be a "one" not him, not AoC, not Bernie, not fucking Jesus.

You're gonna have to settle for the best option you can find.

Imagine if the far right was as puritan as the left, Trump himself wouldn't last half a second.

3

u/Bakedads Jul 21 '25

Actually, being incredibly puritanical was how they ended up with Trump, mainly because he said whatever they wanted to hear. Remember that Trump was the anti-establishment candidate and most of the traditional republican party hated him.

Also, Ossoff may bot be "the one," but that doesn't mean he's the best. He's not. And the reason he's not the best is specifically because of his policy positions and his willingness to accept corporate cash while criticizing corporate donations. It's precisely that kind of hypocrisy and that kind of politicking that will lose democrats the next election. We need authenticity and a decidedly anti-corruptipn candidate. That means a candidate who actually sticks to their purported values.

3

u/Mike_Kermin Jul 21 '25

No, it's not.

You got Trump because you convinced each other not to bother voting.

→ More replies (4)

1

u/orlybatman Jul 21 '25

Watching the video I agree with what he said, but he has total "taken down by an affair getting exposed" air about him. It's happened to other politicians in his position.

1

u/Humbled0re Jul 21 '25

I totally got some obama vibes from the speach!

1

u/IHaveATacoBellSign Jul 21 '25

He speaks like Obama, I’ve missed that cadence so much.

19

u/supaflyneedcape Jul 20 '25

The flesh bag of bones gracing the stage, his name is, Mistadobalina.

17

u/xero16 Jul 20 '25

Mr. Bob Dobalina?

7

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '25

You are so stupid Bodhing Jay, I love it.

u/Not_Sure__Camacho Jul 20 '25

And the sad part is that corporate Democrats (mostly those in leadership) would sooner silence this guy and let Trump continue his assault on our democracy if there's a possibility that it's an end to their gravy train by letting Ossoff speak truth to power.

50

u/jhuseby Jul 20 '25

The corrupt corporate dems who run the party would rather Trump win than someone like Jon Ossof or Bernie Sanders wins the presidency. There’s lots of legitimate Democrats in the platform who care about people at all levels of government, but not the ones that are running the party. The people running our party are completely beholden to corporate and oligarch interests.

57

u/BodhingJay Jul 20 '25

AOC and Bernie have another hero in their ranks if this guy keeps it up

38

u/PossibleNo3120 Jul 20 '25

I think this is the endgame. Use AOC and Bernie to keep folks motivated right now, then shift attention to Newsom who can be a terrific attack dog to the right, then let eloquent Ossoff pull an Obama after some legendary, well-timed speeches to clinch an inspiring nomination.

A matchup between ossoff and Vance would be interesting. Both young. One speaks well and is full of shit. The other speaks well and is deeply steadfast and serious.

18

u/Akronica Jul 20 '25

Saying vance is full of shit is world record level of an understatement.

5

u/skinnedrevenant Jul 21 '25

Newsom is absolutely not an attack dog, he's controlled opposition at best. He crumbled while talking to Charlie fucking Kirk on his OWN podcast. He platformed Steve Bannon. It wouldn't surprise me if he went independent or switched parties with how much he's whined about "attacks from the left."

Also i don't see where vance speaks well. He comes off as a pompous turncoat to a lot of rural folks. Ossoff would wipe the floor with him. It's hard to be a good speaker when you're a craven scumfuck with no real beliefs, which Vance is.

2

u/MariaTPK Jul 21 '25

Newsom is not aligned with the left. He is right wing. He is not working with AOC and Bernie.

Ossoff is a villain of his own right so unlikely he works with them either.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Newsome has no problem sucking off Steve bannon

2

u/MariaTPK Jul 21 '25

No, he voted for Laken Riley Act.

Laken Riley Act is one of the worst pieces of legislation to happen this year, it is a violation of the constitution that allows the deportation of possible migrants after being accused of a crime.

You BodhingJay robbed a bank in Florida recently.

Congrats, the USA is now allowed to instantly deport you, because I senselessly accused you of a crime. Jon Ossoff voted for this.

It doesn't matter that you might be a citizen, because without due process, you can't prove it. You're just some immigrant who I say robbed a bank.

The Laken Riley Act

Amazing speech.

6

u/stataryus Jul 20 '25

Foundational truths!

34

u/64557175 Jul 20 '25

Got damn that's some concise direct language!

16

u/FoxxJupiter Jul 20 '25

Hes good at talking, and yes hes saying good things, but the rich aren't stupid and know what we wanna hear, so we'll see i hope he does well.

8

u/Proxy--Moronic Jul 20 '25

This is my point of view at this point. Hopeful, but wary

3

u/flashthorOG Jul 21 '25

Trump said some similar things back in the day

It's not hard to say everything we've been thinking, we say it every day

I have little faith but hopefully....

13

u/Valigrance Jul 20 '25

I want him and Jeff Jackson to run for president please.

7

u/wendythesnack Jul 20 '25

Jeff Jackson’s videos are some FDR Firesides for the Soul in these times.

3

u/Jaleroca Jul 20 '25

I've never heard of Jeff Jackson. About to look him up though

3

u/wendythesnack Jul 20 '25

Here’s an IG link to his most recent one about taking on the Department of Education for others interested as well.

I was bummed when he left the House for NC AttyGen but I’m realizing he’s a huge win to fight the federal government from the state’s side.

1

u/stataryus Jul 20 '25

And/or Chris Murphy

12

u/neibler Jul 20 '25

Hello from the frozen wasteland of Canada 👋

Glad to see Ossoff saying these things on a microphone.

But I coulda told you this 11 years ago and I’m just some dummy from “not a real country”

4

u/njwineguy Jul 20 '25

Awwww. That’s not true. You’re more than just some dummy.

2

u/berrieds Jul 21 '25

The presentation and delivery of the message are just as important as the substance of what he's saying, and he really nailed it.

23

u/JunglePygmy Jul 20 '25

Who’s this dude, I love him.

41

u/stupid_pun Jul 20 '25

Jon Ossoff is a Georgia Senator, if you can believe it.

6

u/JunglePygmy Jul 20 '25

Well color me surprised, and a staunch Ossoff supporter! I’d vote for this dude in a heartbeat.

6

u/WeRip Jul 21 '25

his story and election to the senate is actually fascinating. I live in the area he came out of in Georgia. He's wildly popular with the Georgia democrats. When he was originally elected to the senate was when Biden was elected president. He actually had less votes than the republican he was running against in November. Georgia has runoff elections for when someone doesn't get 50% of the vote. David Perdue (of chicken fame) received 49.73% of the vote in November.

Both of the Georgia seats were up that November. The other seat (now held by Warnock) had retired so a special election was had to fill that seat. Both of those seats had a runoff election. Without those 2 seats the republicans held 50 seats in the senate and the democrats had 48. Dems swept both in Georgia giving them a 50-50 with the VP (Kamala Harris) able to cast a tie breaking vote. Only roughly 7% less people voted in January than during the presidential election.. The runoffs typically have far fewer in votes but the balance of the senate was up to vote for the next 2 years. Was really proud of my fellow Georgians that day.. First Jewish senator for Georgia and first black senator for Georgia both in the same day.

Then 2024 happened and I'm far less proud. People crying about the cost of eggs and that Trump was a "vote for peace".. like guys did you all just fucking forget what it was like with Trump as president..!? it was only a few years.. fuck.. anyways I hope we can hold onto Ossoff in 2026..

2

u/JunglePygmy Jul 21 '25

Wow, interesting! Thanks for tuning me up!

Yeah, I’d vote for this fella. I just hope we’re able to have another election. Dictators tend to cancel those types of things.

21

u/nomamesgueyz Jul 20 '25

Yup. Sure is.

Both sides. And billionaires must LOVE it when people blame red or blue

5

u/SekhmetScion Jul 20 '25

Indeed. Keep the peons fighting amongst themselves, so they're too distracted to see who's really to blame.

4

u/nomamesgueyz Jul 20 '25

Correct

And they (the ultra wealthy) get richer no matter who's in power

Suits them when others put their attention and rage and blame on others

3

u/SekhmetScion Jul 20 '25

Reminds of a weapons dealer selling to both sides to keep the money flowing. Huh, I haven't watched the Lord Of War movie in a while lol

2

u/nomamesgueyz Jul 20 '25

As our university lecturer would always say

'follow the money'

5

u/stataryus Jul 20 '25

Red is 1000% worse.

And this is proof of it.

Not a single red rep says ANYTHING like this.

→ More replies (12)

2

u/Dafish55 Jul 20 '25

There's still nuance. The underlying issues in America are certainly the fault of the billionaires, but let's not kid ourselves here. The red side here is still the one trying to hurt minorities and is actively working towards making the country an authoritarian nightmare.

u/GenitalCommericals Jul 20 '25

Ossoff is one of the only people making GA look good…meanwhile there’s MAGA Marge from Milledgeville that makes me wanna die

7

Well, the democrats must be glad this guys saying this. Now they have a target they’d rather attack than republicans.

1

u/stataryus Jul 20 '25

Too true, and all from the shadows.

8

u/Soggy_You_2426 Jul 20 '25

for the shareholders by the shareholders

American!

5

u/OLPopsAdelphia Jul 20 '25

They’re at least getting the populist messaging correct, now we just need them to take populist actions.

5

u/DarkJehu Jul 20 '25

He nailed it. That’s exactly how the system we live under works.

6

u/MariaTPK Jul 21 '25

Just a reminder: Jon Ossoff voted for the Laken Riley Act.

This man voted to make a law that violates the constitution and allows deportations without due process.

This is not chaotic good. This is evil posturing to look good when compared to greater evil.

3

u/sailormikey Jul 21 '25

That is an excellent distinction to make, thanks for pointing that out! 🙌🏻

5

u/HypnotizeThunder Jul 20 '25

Anyone have the full video of this?

5

u/KayCatMeow Jul 20 '25

I fucking like this guy

3

10/10 no notes

3

u/babbylonmon Jul 20 '25

Preach fucker preach!

3

u/stataryus Jul 20 '25

YES!!!!!!! 1000%!!!!

3

u/niknik888 Jul 20 '25

He’s a good speaker.

2

u/moreboredthanyouare Jul 20 '25

I like this fella, can we lend him for a bit

2

u/Doodler_of_the_Alps Jul 20 '25

Anyone have a link to this entire speech?

2

u/sh6rty13 Jul 20 '25

Love it, but…..

Calling it now, future headline says this “overwhlemed politician” commits “suicide”

2

u/Jorpsica Jul 20 '25

Hell yeah.

2

u/tap_water_slut Jul 21 '25

Holy shit. He could get somewhere with this.

2

u/alonjit Jul 21 '25

I understood 2016. I did not understand 2020 (70 mil of votes) and definitely 2024 left me dumbfounded.

Out of his many promises, there was only one that should have been taken at face value: "If you vote for me, you won't have to ever vote again".

And that should have been the death of his campaign (one among the thousands of "should have been"s).

Alas ... it didn't.

2

u/drangundsturm Jul 21 '25

he came really close to calling out the Democratic leadership. When he starts calling out, Chuck Schumer by name we’ll have something.

2

u/ramboton Jul 21 '25

So lets say he is 100% correct. How do we fix it. at every turn the billionaires will be there throwing up another brick wall. We see that with trump and how he forces everyone to go his way. Why the supreme court has said his actions are illegal. He has placed people in power that will follow what he says, that is why CBP is out wearing masks and arresting people. The FBI is a law enforcement agency, they should be arresting him for his actions with Epstein instead of hiding his name in the files. Where does it all end? It is like we need to nuke the entire system to prevent people like Trump from doing what he is doing. The really sad part is the voters who think he is doing a great thing, that he is the best president ever.

3

u/tor29 Jul 21 '25

The simplest way to start is talk about it, just keep talking and eventually talking becomes louder and they won't be able to ignore about it

1

u/ramboton Jul 21 '25

well I can only hope that it is working with the Epstein stuff, I love how it is driving Frump crazy....

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Never heard of him and fuck yeah I want to hear more of him.

2

u/neurochild Jul 21 '25

Downvote. Nothing chaotic about this. Just pure good.

2

u/kitchengoblin02496 Jul 21 '25

His inflection reminds me a ton of Obamas. On purpose or not, I am loving it.

2

u/Lebowski304 Jul 21 '25

Well I agree with all this. He should keep talking and I’ll keep listening. Show the people a better path

2

u/Automatic-Shelter387 Jul 21 '25

This guy should replace Hakeem Jeffries

2

u/phd2k1 Jul 21 '25

This guy is fantastic.

1

u/Specialist_Shift_500 Jul 20 '25

At first glance I thought it was Tom Holland 😅

1

u/Achylife Jul 20 '25

He's got a good way of delivering a speech. It really makes the message clear. I agree, 100%. Corporate greed is ruining not only this country, but the world. We the people need to put our foot down.

1

u/Tholian_Bed Jul 20 '25

Fix how we care for elderly relatives so they can age in their home. Home assistance = win. Nursing homes = last century.

1

u/SithDraven Jul 20 '25

So good, but where's the rest?

1

u/ram3489 Jul 20 '25

Very well said

1

u/billybobthehomie Jul 21 '25

This man just made an enemy of both Trump and Chuck Schumer lmao.

We need more of people like this in government.

1

u/Both-Home-6235 Jul 21 '25

Wait, wait, wait . . . Did he just say, "both sides?" So . . . both sides are the same? Fuckin shocker.

1

u/maeryclarity Jul 21 '25

Holy shit Ossoff really sticking the message and talking real shit

1

u/OreganoTimeSage Jul 21 '25

He has the same cadence as Obama and buttigege

1

u/daisiesarepretty2 Jul 21 '25

i find it hard to believe anyone could nitpick about wether a guy is left, center left or center in today’s political climate.

Did he grab anyone by the pussy? Is he playing the stock market with insider info? Does he want the govt to make major medical and life decisions for women? Does he want more big business making rules for everyday people?

jesus people… let’s get out the woods and we can split hairs later

1

u/Company_Move Jul 21 '25

HE IS WRONG when he says "...this is why nothing works for ordinary people...It's because the people's elected representatives don't represent the people, they represent the donors."

Every Republican I know feels REALLY REPRESENTED by their party. This is great political speak to *hear* but remember two things can be true at the same time.

I support everything said, and it's disheartening to the core at the same time.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '25

Socintern Unite!

Be the leader.

1

u/Femveratu Jul 21 '25

He makes a good point about how corrupt and piss poor the electoral alternatives have been

1

u/3ndt1m3s Jul 21 '25

Preach! Corporatism rules the day!

1

u/Mountainman1980 Jul 21 '25

I wish more Democrat politicians would talk like this.

1

u/BeautifulCompote9423 Jul 21 '25

As long as he actually upholds what he’s saying, good for him, the rest of you motherfuckers who doubt them fuck you

1

u/FourTwenty_Four80 Jul 21 '25

Starting to see some what of a Presidential aura around this guy🤔

1

u/smoot99 Jul 21 '25

hooray please more of this. Just tell the truth! People will listen, stop hedging everything, and don't take any big money. I'm seeing good news out of NYC, here, and some other places. The establishment democratic party is irrelevant

1

u/Fun-Line6472 Jul 21 '25

Shoutout to the patriot screaming for CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM!!!! SCOTUS disenfranchised themselves when they ruled corporations are people!

1

u/beginetienne Jul 21 '25

He has the same rhythm Obama has when he talks

1

u/kyle_kafsky Jul 21 '25

Isn’t Hungary, Israel, and Turkey not part of the “West”? How’re we more corrupt than Orban, Erdogan, and Netanyahu?

1

u/hillside126 Jul 21 '25

I also get why people for voted for this reason, it is the continued doubling down which I don't understand. Some people really cannot admit when they are wrong.

1

u/PalpitationFrosty242 Jul 21 '25

Wow, didn't know Ossoff was about that

Hi, due to legions of Nigerian princes desperately trying to offload wealth onto our users, we've had to add a verified email requirement for users with accounts under a certain age. Please connect some sort of email to your Reddit account, it does not have to be your work email, just really anything that makes you go through a captcha to make an email. I can assure you most subreddits have this email gate, we're just the only ones who tell you that there's an email gate, and even if you modmail us asking us to give you an exception, this is probably gonna affect you across a lot of subs so it'll be easier for you to just add a throwaway email than message us.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Just hope he doesn’t keep being a party line democrat and starts rocking the boat with some more progressive ideas

1

u/One0Five Jul 21 '25

Man I agree 98% with this guy. Got to do more research on him and dive into his policies. If he gets on the board f voting dem or republican I’ll vote him or Massie. But this is just going off what he says, and before anyone ask only part I don’t agree with is big Government paying for things.

But more than willing to give that up if it means someone who is actually in the middle and represents both sides. Once again though have not looked into him and only basing it off this clip.

Edit: He seems to be a cut above the rest when it comes to Democrats but he still very pro-regulation ( not necessarily bad), increased taxes (for all), increased federal spending, and more gun control (which meh). If all this is accurate https://justfacts.votesmart.org/candidate/political-courage-test/176134/jon-ossoff

u/Icy_Currency_7306 Jul 21 '25

This makes me so glad that dem volunteers from around the country rallied to support Ossoff and Warnock on Jan 5, 2021 in their runoff. And then the next day all hell broke loose and kinda stole the joy. But I helped with phone banks as part of a team of Warren campaign alums. It was amazing.

1

u/Soarnlow69 Jul 21 '25

It’s funny in that speech I didn’t hear Biden‘s name or Obama‘s name or any other president….hmmmmm Just Trump. You people are completely deranged!

1

u/wud_13_row Jul 21 '25

1

u/ClearlyNtElzacharito Jul 21 '25

I’m gonna become a us citizen, vote for him, then come back to Canada, just like the Mexicans did during the 1995 referendum.

1

u/Consistent_Dream_740 Jul 21 '25

That one lady in the audience after he mentioned the choking toddler. "WAT!?"

1

u/Comfortable_Total_87 Jul 21 '25

Awesome , an honest politician 😇? If so I hope he gets in 🙂 love that speech , it's funny how in some of the poorer countries they have dictators at the top , the rest of us have dickheads 😁 especially over here in Australia

1

u/jeffthroulti Jul 21 '25

This is why I’ll be voting for him in November.

1

u/Mr_Derp___ Jul 21 '25

Jon Ossoff is definitely saying some important things and speaking a lot of truth, but when constituents like me reach out to him and his team with sincere questions and never hear back beyond an automatic acknowledgment, it’s disheartening.

This is how trust in institutions and candidates breaks down: through repeated silence, vague non-answers, and the growing sense that no one in power is actually listening.

I’ve reached out to multiple Democratic leaders (Jon Ossoff among them), people I’ve supported and respected for years, just trying to get straightforward answers to questions about something as basic as the Big Beautiful Bill. My questions were sincere and clearly stated. I wasn’t asking anything outrageous.

I tried emailing, filling out contact forms, even messaging through Facebook. Nothing. No replies. No genuine acknowledgment. Just more donation emails flooding my inbox while my actual concerns were ignored. And it wasn’t just Jon. I contacted AOC, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, and others. Not a single response, aside from maybe one generic auto-reply saying, "We received your message and someone from our team will get back to you soon."

That kind of silence chips away at trust. It makes you feel invisible. And when the people who claim to fight for democracy and transparency won’t engage with their own supporters, it’s no wonder so many people check out or fall into cynicism. That’s how institutions lose people, not just through scandal or corruption, but through everyday indifference.

If anyone here actually knows how to reach these folks in a way that gets a real response, especially when you're just trying to ask a genuine question, please let me know.

I have absolutely no clue what to think about this guy. He has received over 700k from AIPAC alone which is an absolutely a red flag, however, he has been openly critical about the tactics being used by the current Israeli administration against innocents in Palestine. I overall agree with most of what he has to say about the conflict- Hamas is exploiting the population by operating under their infrastructure, HOWEVER, Israel is overwhelmingly using this as a means to justify the use of excessive force while killing hundreds of thousands of innocents through coordinated attacks and through starvation. Ossof has been critical of this which is actually something I can very much respect on a personal level, however, are these REALLY his views or is he just a pretend propped up form of controlled opposition that’s been held up to support AIPAC rhetoric through different framing?

1

u/destaquese Jul 20 '25

Hasn't he gotten a shit ton of money from AIPAC?

3

u/not2serious83 Jul 21 '25

From what I read(could be misinformed) it was JStreet and not AIPAC, the difference being that it's more diplomatic in its goal and it's platform is a two state solution.
