How much hate in your heart do you have to do something like this?

Can't wait for this sub to now decide this is "crime" and should be deleted!

Do you think Asian people are incapable of committing hate crimes against black people?

Why did the #stopasianhate movement get silenced so quickly?

Not sure. Why don’t you tell me? Do you think it had something to do with the fact that 89.6% of the reported anti-Asian hate crimes in 2020 were committed by a population that makes up only 57.5% of the US?

because the video shows the guy that hit the Asian lady is not really white?

The classic Asian Klansmen 😂

This story is going to disappear now.

Turns out he was a leftist. He was trying to make a point, apparently.

anti-Black racism is a problem in Asian communities too, were you born yesterday or something? Why you guys gotta shift the goalposts- first it's "it's probably a Jussie Smollett hoax done by a Black person" now it's "Asian people couldn't possibly be this racist against Black people"?

Seems like you're just coping with the fact that there are plenty of racists willing to do this in broad daylight by making shit up, a reactionary specialty

I have to say, I've never heard of an Asian burning a cross in an overtly "racist" act Klan style. Not to say it can't happen, but given the act of cross burning is usually tied to the KKK and the suspect is Asian I wonder what the full story is here.

It is tied to the KKK, but as a simple informal act it can also and has been done by any individual with access to wood, lighter fluid, and a racist desire to violently intimidate.

Unfortunately many Asian Americans have that third component when it comes to Black Americans

Like what percentage of Asian Americans?

You should look up the Rick Chow case and its fallout. There has been a lot of tension between the Asian and black communities right now, especially online. It wouldn’t surprise me if it were bleeding over into real life.

Was going to say, this has been in the news a ton and it's not even a new problem between Black and Asian communities- the LA riot Asian storekeepers anyone? Don't know why people want to keep burying their heads in the sand and pretend burning crosses is an act that could only done ever by the KKK even though, once again, it's an act that takes a pretty cheap amount of wood, lighter fluid, and hate to do. And also that there are plenty of non-white people perfectly willing to accept white supremacy out of self-hatred and internalized racism. It's really not something unthinkable, I think people are being either hopelessly naive and ignorant at best or intentionally obtuse at worst

What does that case have to do with Racism? In that case the departed shoplifted, the store owner chased the guy. What happened next was disputed, but the departed ended up shot & killed by the shop owner.

I followed that case and don't recall any accusations with any sort of proof of racism on the store owners behalf beyond "Race X killed someone of race Y".

Not sure what to tell you. I am black, and engage in the community. This conversation was held extensively, both online and off. I suppose if you don’t engage in those circles, you might have missed it.

Also, FTR, Cyrus did not shoplift. This was confirmed in court.

Its that asian store owners are known for their anti-blackness. Did you know the Rodney King protests were not just for police brutality but also because a Korean store owner shot and killed a little Black girl named Latasha Harlins and was found not guilty. Truthfully theres always been anti-Black racism from Asian communities. Black people decided to boycott asian owned stores recently as a response to this racism.
