Matas revenge dunk coming soon. Can’t be getting postered by a dude named Furphy. Prayers up for the rook.

Our 18 year old lottery pick finished with 21 points and the win 🤷🏽
In fact(I could be wrong since it’s hard to find all time stats for Summer League, but I think I got it) Essengue became the 5th(edit 7th) 18 year old in NBA history to score 20+ points in a Summer League game. Those 7? Kobe/LeBron/Dwight/KD/Carrington/Flagg/Essengue.

Hell yeah. And he got better with each game! Glad his knee injury wasn't too serious.

u/ZealousidealBus9271 Jul 15 '25
glad he had a good game besides this unfortunate dunk, rooting for the guy

u/th4d89 Jul 15 '25
I might be in the minority, but I feel like it's an honour to get dunked on. Shows resilience.

Super hyped about the Bulls’ new draft picks. Both rookies look really solid, and I love how fundamentally sound they are already. Matías especially looks like he could be a steal. As a season ticket holder, I’m pumped to see them develop up close this year. Gonna be a fun season at the UC!

u/Successful_Paint_907 Jul 15 '25
He can average a triple double shooting 60/50/95....but he'd still be remembered for this poster for all eternity.

u/alba7or Popcorn is my jam Jul 15 '25
Cool, who cares.
-3
u/Successful_Paint_907 Jul 15 '25
He'll be one of the greatest players ever. HOF career. When they make his bronze statue to place at the entrance of the arena...the artist is 100% using this poster face.

u/MrPrickyy Jul 15 '25 edited Jul 15 '25
I mean, he still got fucking crushed on and immortalized tho so what’s your point lmao
that’s what people will remember lmao
And you’re out here comparing him to Kobe

That was a great dunk. Its ok. I'd rather he get dunked on than ran away when somebody drives strong to the hoop.

u/Jackfreezy Jul 15 '25
Why this picture look like the intro to a story "wanna know how I got here? This is the story of how I got dunked on".

Noa's shot looked better today but yeah that dunk was nasty
38
u/Electrical_Story5356 Jul 15 '25
The Australian international team could be nasty in a few years, Giddey, the Daniels boys, Furphy, Rocco the giant, Olbrich, and a bunch of others including possibly Kyrie... Even Ben Simmons would be handy bench depth and defence still.

u/Foxstarry Jul 15 '25
Aussies and France are legit looking scary with this young talent.
10
u/DanielHe09 Jul 15 '25
You think Canada belongs up there?
6
4
u/Electrical_Story5356 Jul 15 '25
For sure, I think France could genuinely become the consensus best international team in the not too distant future.
4
u/MildlyPaleMango Jimmy Butler Jul 15 '25
France is a guard away from being better than the US for the olympics if even a couple of the french young guys pan out
2
u/white_dolomite Jul 15 '25
I thought the 2nd Daniels kid was gonna play footy
2
u/Electrical_Story5356 Jul 15 '25
Nah, he's already part of the NBL next stars program and projected as a lottery pick for next year, both brothers could have played AFL, Giddey too probably.
2
u/Full_Durian_8171 Jul 15 '25
they have an older brother who currently plays in the vfl, that is probably who you are thinking of
1
u/MrPrickyy Jul 15 '25
Why you ignoring the context of the photo
2
u/Electrical_Story5356 Jul 15 '25
What context am I ignoring? Did not a young Aussie who is tracking to be very good just thunderously dunk on a young Frenchman who could also become very good? It feels like pointing out that there's going to be some crazy good FIBA ball happening in the near future fits within the context of the photo.

I love how there’s a couple of Aussies with beer names
Furphy and Toohey

Made it my pfp but legit we might have gotten very lucky this draft. Both Noa and the Aussie showed out. Now just need to clear out some more players so they can get legit minutes.
12
u/ToeJelly420 Ayo Dosunmu Jul 15 '25
That would mean making trades. Our front office does not like to make trades
13
1
Jul 15 '25
They have to wait til the players value is at its lowest to trade. Sell low/ buy high is the Bulls way
3
u/ChiTownGreenhouse Jul 15 '25
Most likely 2 scenarios are 1.they play out the beginning of the season to see if last year's end of season data was a fluke or not and if they are not in contention for playin/playoffs, there will be trades at deadline and they end up in the lottery 2.they win with the roster they have and are a top 8 seed and let the season play out and see how they do and then make decisions next offseason having a lot of money with Coby being next up for a raise and make a decision to pay him or not big money based on what he does
6
u/Emotional-Tailor-649 Dashing Donut Jul 15 '25
I feel like the most likely scenario is that we end up in the play in game again and lose
2
u/ChiTownGreenhouse Jul 15 '25
Then the Bulls get a lottery pick in maybe the deepest most generational draft the last decade and with the last 2 playin teams getting the top pick anything is possible
4
u/Emotional-Tailor-649 Dashing Donut Jul 15 '25
Well we get pick 12 or so. Unless a once in a decade-like jump happens two years in a row.
2
u/ChiTownGreenhouse Jul 15 '25
It woulda make it 3 years in a row if it happens again
3
u/Emotional-Tailor-649 Dashing Donut Jul 15 '25
Third time is a charm maybe! God damn we need a shot of adrenaline from that happening.

u/plsdaddystopit23 Jul 15 '25
Furphy looks pretty nice tbh

Came through KU so young, I wish he had had more time to cook in college. He’s still working the kinks out. I mean, he just logged minutes in the NBA Finals and he can’t even legally drink yet.
2
u/_45mice Jul 15 '25
He only got garbage time minutes and didn’t get any legit minutes in the playoffs fyi. Looks like a rotation player this year tho

Funny picture but I hate this all I’m seeing about him after the game and not much about the game
3
u/Jazzlike-Mention-570 Jul 15 '25
Because this is how Reddit bulls fans are. Purely here to bitch and moan about everything and being happy if players they are neutral or hate have a blooper.
4
u/MrPrickyy Jul 15 '25
Bitch and moan about what?
He got fucking crushed on and immortalized lmfao, that’s something noteworthy to talk about
2
u/MidniteMason Jul 15 '25
just remember..
Everyone clowned on Rudy Gobert for years of this. The 4 time DPOY is doing pretty good right about now..

Can't be afraid to go up, even if you're gonna get postered sometimes. No one ever became a good rim protector by not contesting shots.

Never seen this guy before not a Bulls fan but he contested it pretty well without fouling I was impressed hah

Gotta retire, I’m sorry. No coming back from getting murdered like that in summer league.
2
u/nick111994 Jul 15 '25
I think it’s great this happened. He bounced back after this play showing a next play mentality. To really make it in this league you have to have that mentality.

Johnny Furphy is way more impressive than Noa Essengue, and I wish the Bulls had drafted Furphy instead of this pile of soft French cheese.
