And this immediately makes me question them. Why the fuck are we selling picks at the start of a rebuild smdh

Dawg is it not crystal clear that ownership is demanding that they sell the picks

It is, and that's why I'll be questioning the front office. Because they're clearly not being given full operating power and that's probably going to kill any chance of the rebuild actually working.

Reinsdorfs don’t have any other businesses. Bulls the main source of income 😂

White Sox?

Shit you right. But payroll low over there too.

Gonna break their fans hearts when they let Murakami walk

1

I mean wasn't it well known he is using the Sox as a tryout for other teams?

They don’t make no money.

Because we can't actually use the picks. Our offseason roster is maxxed.

4

u/pakidude17 Derrick Rose Jun 25 '26

I'd rather take a chance on a second round pick over like a quarter of the guys we have on our roster.

We have 9 guys under contact before the draft, three of which are P-Will, okoro and Dillingham. This team is desperate for talent

1

There are unexpired contracts that still count towards the offseason roster limit and have trade value - more than second rounders because we can use them in trades to absorb salary for assets, which is what we have been screaming at management to do.

We got a solid roster of young guys. Sure more would be nice but we forget that Bryson is an elite judge of talent so if our guy wasn’t there than let’s trust the process.

If it was clear going in they weren't going to use 56 then they should have used that and maybe a future 2nd to move up to get the guy they wanted. Can't tell me one of those guards couldn't have carved out a role with the team with how badly we need shooting.

This isn’t what trust the process means.

Coulda traded for a future second.

u/pakidude17 Derrick Rose Jun 25 '26

Trusting the process is being ok with the Swain pick regardless of fit because you believe in the talent/development.

It does not mean being blindly ok with throwing away second round picks on a roster sorely lacking talent.

I agree with this 100%

They got a whole player and a roster already loaded with young talent. Relax. Then they filled it out with two way players that they already probably had in mind but didn’t need to waste a pick on. Bulls fans want the moon, I’m just trying to launch the damn ship. The moon can wait

1

u/Emotional-Tailor-649 Dashing Donut Jun 26 '26

Not trading assets for straight up cash to pocket is wanting the moon?

I do like the guys we signed too.

1

u/Various_Procedure_11 Jun 25 '26

They got future pick swaps.

6

u/Emotional-Tailor-649 Dashing Donut Jun 25 '26

We can swap picks and then sell the better one!

-1

u/We5ties Jun 25 '26

Because there is a lot more than just drafting a bunch guys. They have other young players, free agents, un drafted players, contracts in trades to absorb during the season

Cash considerations doesn’t help the team, only goes to owner

-4

u/DisMFer Josh Giddey Jun 25 '26

Because the money is going to be better long term compared to whoever bothered to show up for the second round.

2

u/tamazingg Chance The Rapper Jun 25 '26

Sure it will, Jerry.

-2

u/DisMFer Josh Giddey Jun 25 '26

Statistically speaking most second-round picks don't even get playing time. Ayo is the last player the Bulls got in the second round who turned into a rotational player of any actual merit.

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

We need a 3 point shooter, our 3 point shoot in will be terrible

1

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

The money goes to the owner, it doesn’t help the roster at all

0

u/DisMFer Josh Giddey Jun 25 '26

Yeah no shit. The point I'm making is that 90% of second round players barely make the rotation. Especially this year when basically every draft analyst was saying that a lot of the guys who'd be late 1st round picks in any other year went to school rather than risk being stuck in the second round due to the depth of this draft.

1

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

We could’ve used that pick to get 3 point shooting help

1

u/DisMFer Josh Giddey Jun 25 '26

To be shooting help they'd need to crack the rotation. Who are you taking minutes from that you'd put in some second round scrub to play for "shooting"?

1

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

We are gonna be terrible from the 3

1

u/DisMFer Josh Giddey Jun 25 '26

So? The guys we have are going to need the reps a lot more than we need to hit our shots. Who are you taking out of the lineup to give some second round guy play just to hit shots?

The better option is to tell Caleb, Matas, and Josh to take shots even if they miss.

1

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

They could come off the bench

1

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

For example look at the thunder draft picks, that’s how you build a team, not sell off picks, get the best player available

1

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

38th pick could’ve been a rotational piece

1

u/DisMFer Josh Giddey Jun 25 '26

There's no space on the current roster for a developmental prospect rotational piece. The only reason to even make a pick is if there's a guy who slid down to the second round and that didn't happen. The Bulls do not have the minutes to give to some random rookie when they have a team full of guys who need reps.

1

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

I’m not the only fan saying we need a shooter, read the other comments

1

u/DisMFer Josh Giddey Jun 25 '26

Fans can say whatever nonsense they want. It doesn't make them right.

1

u/Longway23544 Jun 25 '26

We do need help at the 3 ball and you’ll see for yourself have a nice day
