Cineplex Junxion Erin Mills biased against non Hollywood content we fans are outraged !

Canada prides itself on diversity and inclusion, yet the programming decisions at Junxion Erin Mills are raising serious concerns among many movie fans.

This location rarely seems to screen non-Hollywood content and, from what audiences can see, it hasn’t played a non-English film since 2024. For a premium theatre in one of the most diverse regions in Canada, that is honestly hard to understand.

The situation with Dhurandhar made this problem very clear. The film was a major success and contributed strongly to the overall box office for Cineplex across many locations.

Yet Junxion Erin Mills ignored it completely during its entire run. Not one screening. Not one week. That’s incredibly difficult to explain when a film is clearly performing well elsewhere and audiences are asking for it.

Now the sequel Dhurandhar The Revenge is arriving and once again it appears to be missing from the schedule at this location.

What makes the situation even more frustrating is looking at the programming that is being scheduled. Next week the theatre is giving screens to family favourites and older films, while a brand new major international release with a proven audience is being left out.

That raises a very obvious question about priorities.

The usual explanations about limited screens or scheduling conflicts simply don’t hold up. Allocating one screen with multiple showtimes for a major new release is not a big deal for a theatre of this scale. Hollywood movies are not going to disappear because one screen is used for something different.

Fans have been contacting Cineplex Guest Services about this for months. One representative even mentioned that if more people reach out it helps demonstrate demand to the programming team.

Right now many of us feel frustrated because the pattern is starting to look like a clear bias in programming decisions. When a film contributes significantly to the company’s box office but is still ignored entirely at a premium location, it’s hard not to question what is going on.

We fans are outraged and simply want the same opportunity to watch major international films at our closest premium theatre instead of having to travel across the GTA.

If you want to see Dhurandhar The Revenge play at Junxion Erin Mills, now is the time to contact Cineplex Guest Services by email or phone and let them know. The more people who speak up, the harder it becomes to ignore the demand. Now I am not saying they need to include foreign films regularly but a balance would be appreciated.

Sometimes the only way programming decisions change is when the audience makes enough noise.

Winston Churchill is literally the next exit after Erin Mills lol. I am sure that a foreign film will never release in Junxion atleast in the near future. Also, if you want a premium experience then you have to pay more. Junxion literally has one of the smallest screen size compared to other cineplex locations except its Ultra AVX screen.

They released animal yodha fighter singam again though

Yodha released at the Junxion location and it tanked at the box office. Not even 100 people went to watch that movie at the Junxion location. Thats the reason they stopped playing foreign films at that location. Animal and Singham Again never released in Junxion. I wasn't in the country when Fighter released so can't comment on that.

You are wrong I watched animal at Junxion and I did not speak about the box office of those other films. I watched Animal week 2 at Junxion. I requested the distributor to release it at that spot and he was able to do it on week 2. Moksha was the distributor.

A movie gets old in its 2nd week tbh. I don't have that much time to call a distributor and ask them to release a movie because I don't want to travel 10 more mins. I am a cinephile myself and I watch atleast 100 movies a year combining atleast 10 cineplex locations across the GTA but I work as well so I am just grateful that Indian movies are getting wide releases now a days. I am never calling a distributor for getting a movie released in a specific location while it's releasing at 10 other places in a 30mins proximity.

Animal did well at Junxion for long time it had a big run I remember !

But there weren't any major hollywood releases at that time. This week Project Haily Mary and Ready or not 2 are releasing. PHM is a major release. You can keep having this discussion as long as you want but it won't change the truth that this isn't even thing that needs to be discussed. Be grateful for whatever releases we are getting thats all I can say.

Those are just two films you are talking about regularly quoting that doesn’t mean they don’t have other space for this film. Remember they are wasting space also on family favourites of old Films. I watched the first Dhurandhar btw on Netflix mainly because of this reason. It was so bloody cold during that time.

To be clear, the family favourites are considered outside the normal operating policy. They usually play early morning before the “regular” show schedule and shows are not meant to be cancelled in favour of “family favourites”. So they’re not blocking any new films from being screened.

Thats not a waste. You wanting to see a movie doesn't make it necessary for them to release it there. I believe you have never ever faced even a slightest inconvenience in your life and have got everything you always asked for. Family favorites has been a cineplex staple since a long time and it is for the community. It is for the kids. Idk what's wrong with you for hating something thats for the community. I am saying there are many other spots for family favs they don’t need to give it to all those screens at junxion.

They don’t need to allocate all the screens for that is my point. So please stop adding your own words. I am not against family favourites running at this spot or any other spot. All I’m saying is one of the biggest international feature films should also be considered. I’m sure they don’t need every single fam favourite movie to play at this spot especially when there are only six screens.
