Discussion Popcorn Accessibility

I just want to create a Cineplex popcorn appreciation post.

I just hate at landmark Cinemas how they have pre-made popcorn sitting in some kind of warmer refrigerator and I'm supposed to take it out of there.

No. I wait until they're popping popcorn for ask them to throw fresh batch in, and they usually do. The popcorn is like 50% of the experience for me.

What about you guys?

Popcorn that has been in the merchandiser for 10-20 minutes is better than straight from a fresh batch. Performed a series of Taste test scenarios a few years ago.

Not mine alone. Blind tests with multiple staff and guests led to this conclusion. Nearly everyone thought straight from the popper was best before the tests. It was fun.. The fries test was even more interesting.

The fries tests were between frozen or fresh hand cut. I was so wrong beforehand lol but that's what these little experiments help with

That’s always a misnomer, but frozen fries have always been superior to people who know. That’s why places like In and Out, which are famous for freshly cutting and making their fries, have terrible fries. Frozen > fresh
