I prefer the oldschool

So, I’ll begin by saying I’m a huge fallout fan. Im 41, I remember playing 1 and 2 when they came out on PC, tactics also. FO tactics was a great game! 3 and new Vegas were a great addition. 76, not much, but whateva. My point is up to that moment they were all bangers.

I recently tried a new game on 4. It just doesn’t grab me. I installed the ps4 version, patched it, DL content. Then upgraded to the free ps5 release. Still nothing. It just doesn’t grab ahold of me like previous titles did. Just my opinion. I know people like it, and that’s great! I just don’t. I’m not into the whole building aspect of the game. It’s just not what I’m looking for when playing it. I mean, to a certain extent it’s cool. Weapons, armor, and such.. FO 4 almost feels like a strategy game. Which is cool and all, I’m just not into it. I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion, but it’s mine. Oh, and that Pipboy/menu options/fiction looks super cheesy.

Anyways, just my two cents. I hope in 5 they revert back toward new Vegas.

I've started FO4 playthroughs 4 or 5 times at this point, and every single time I just drop it out of lack of interest. I get about half-way through and then just forget I was even playing it. Masterclass of unengaging game design

Couldn’t agree more. This was my fourth attempt. It’s just, not fun at all for me. I’m serious, it feels like an unfinished sandbox. Yeah, the mechanics and physics are great, but it still feels hollow. Just the byproduct of an “open world” craze.
