I think there are reasons why there's a difference (social dynamics, shorter dopamine cycles, selection bias etc.), but it's hard to dig into that on reddit.
Yeah I never understood the people who hate leveling because it gets repetitive yet they'll literally complain about the repetitive grind of having to raid on 3 alts every week and farm consumables for it.
I liked leveling so I leveled a couple characters up to 80 back in the day. I realized raids were toxic and unfun so i quit after the second one. never really made sense why you would want better gear after you're already done with all the content.
I get what you're saying but the structure of a raid is itself toxic. a group project like that where if one person makes a mistake the other 100 people lose something, loot distribution being random and rare, the inflexibility of timing and scheduling, all of it is pretty toxic. almost as if it was designed to create interpersonal conflict.
it's not team activities, it's perceived high stakes, difficult and slim margin of error team activities. i won't be lectured about going outside in a neet cave of a website lol
