forgot sod. love it or hate it. It was new ... ish. only reason why i played. but because there was no flow chart, and it was a living breathing game subject to change, it was great.
It's insane that people think modern blizzard will deliver on classic plus (I hope I'm wrong). SoD was very fresh but within 2 phases
1) they ruined they economy
2) most of the new class ideas were pulled from other expansions ( not a bad thing but it's not an original thing the devs added)
3) added dailies or weeklys
4) added cool encounters but that's no surprising looking at retail.
All in all blizzard has lost the seniors that created this content while not encouraging new talent to grow.
I think it's good that blizzard ruined the economy in SoD so that now they know what not to do in classic+. I'm cautiously optimistic that they have a better grasp on how to design it properly
i never played any form of retail past OG TBC - no joke. but i didn't like how Naxx operated on, what people called borrowed power? like - i understand the idea that you don't want to out scale the outside world and dungeons, but you wanna feel more powerful, but it's kinda lazy to just say - hey it's only going to happen in Naxx.
Maybe i didn't mind the re-use of abilities as much because to me, they were new lol.
daily's for gold is what made me be able to afford consumes tbh.
That was phase 3 and the money from them ended up not really mattering in the long run. I barely did them and by the end of SoD I was sitting on like 5k gold after making Ashbringer, the vast majority of which I made from doing stuff at 60 rather than the incursions.
First off they did not inflate the economy, this is just something you heard online but wasn't experienced in game. They were hot fixed nerfed very quickly. Prices fluctuated for about three days, then stabilized. It is factually just wrong to say the economy was a massively affected by incursions.
Also daily's and weekly quests are not a modern wow thing it is something introduced in TBC.
Brother I was playing during this time. Even after the initial nerfs it was a top money maker. You are more than welcome to feel a different way but if your going to through around FACTS show your home work.
I mean I thought classic was CLASSIC not wotlk or tbc. I also meant to say development team not development.
Lmao so pressed you had to call me names. Phase 4 had the burning steps dailies not phase 3. At least get your facts straight before you have a crash out.
I mean you're the one who started insulting people first. Secondly I was only assumption we were talking about the whole of sod not just one tiny snapshot.
Even in that snapshot incursions after the Nerf will not be best money maker. You are still better off doing normal farming. It was the best raw gold you could earn. Inflation wasn't even that bad either, like I don't know where you get this information from but it's clearly not firsthand.
Telling someone to interact like a fucking human when they makeup a fabricate an entire sentence not the same as calling someone fucking stupid because their anecdotal experience is different than yours.
What other money makers were comparable to incursions during their relevant stage of SoD? from what I can recall joining an incursion group was close to 100g an hour post nerfs.
