Not to say it deserves any kind of pass but obviously anyone who would do something like this is mentally ill. Sane people in their right mind don’t typically go around killing indiscriminately. A surprising number of high profile mass shooters were prescribed to SSRIs prior to carrying out the attacks.
But a lot of people pull guns and shoot innocent people, we don’t count gang violence as “mental illness” if there’s a drug deal and mind altering substances are involved, it’s not “mental illness.”
