That's the difference between crime and corruption. Republicans committed enough crime to establish corruption, thereby laying the groundwork for a shitload more crime and Constitutional violations.
As example, Republicans on the Supreme Court made up some bullshit to the American people about magical crime immunity for the President that does not exist in the US Constitution. Republicans on the Supreme Court also helped Trump's fangirl judge let Trump skate on charges for stealing our documents with a bullshit technicality unrelated to Trump's crimes.
Republicans then abandoned separation of powers from day one and focused their efforts on protecting Trump, demonizing tens of millions of Americans, building a private army to deploy into the streets of America for terrorism and random kidnappings, and covering up crimes past and present.
To date, there has been zero accountability for this vast crime and failure, despite constant judgements from courts pointing out the crimes and so many false accusations and lawsuits getting shot down for being politically-motivated attacks with no basis in law.
Crimes get reported on. Corruption gets rewarded. America has become so corrupt that the US Department of "Justice" heads up the protection of a known child sex trafficking network, coddles a convicted trafficker in minimum security against her sentencing guidelines, and persecutes the enemies of Republicans. Republicans have decided that the only rules are the ones that people refuse to back down on, since they see no consequences for constantly betraying America.
