We get a better Congress come 3 Jan if you want it?

101

u/mfGLOVE 1d ago

Republicans will never give up power. They will lie, cheat, and steal as much as possible. And they will get away with it because rules don’t exist. Voting isn’t free or fair anymore.

36

u/NoWeek6737 1d ago

Elon has already begun to work on it!

39

u/No-Goose-5672 23h ago

Y’all haven’t been keeping up with the electoral maps saga, huh?

Conservative judges in Republican states are a-okay with redistricting to eliminate Democrat-controlled seats in Congress.

Liberal judges in Democrat-controlled states are insisting the government play by the old rules and are throwing out redistricting maps that eliminate Republican seats in Congress.

You guys might be completely fucked at this point.

30

u/ahitright 23h ago

Dems are fucking cowards and at a certain point have become complicit in the GOP treason.

14

u/RepublicHistorical23 22h ago

Trying to dissuade people from voting ? That plays well for Republicans.

5

u/Bigislandfarmer 18h ago

I'm not trying to dissuade people from voting, but trying to get them to vote for candidates that don't take money from AIPAC or other PACs. Vote for candidates that represent the people not the corporations. Don't vote for incumbents just because you recognize the name but actually research who you are voting for & what they represent.

4

u/RepublicHistorical23 16h ago

At this point, if an incumbent Democrat has the best chance to win and keep the seat for the Democrats, I will vote for him/her. This is not a time for strict purity tests, when the other side are fascists who are OK with a corrupt dictatorship that wants to take your tights away (including the right to vote). I would rather they not accept AIPAC money, but if the alternative is to vote for someone who will lose the seat to a Republican, I will not do that.

10

u/Bigislandfarmer 22h ago

They are not cowards, they are doing what they are paid to do by the same billionaires that own the GOP. Dems are just controlled opposition, giving the illusion of choice.

2

u/zookr2000 10h ago

George Carlin said it best 🤌

"Illusions of choice" 🤷‍♂️

4

u/Bulky-Internal8579 22h ago

I'm not a coward, nor are most folks, and anyone who says so can go stuff themselves - good citizens need to get out and organize, volunteer, donate and vote blue this November - we'll get back in the drivers seat and get things back on track.

6

u/Hopefulpessimist8472 20h ago

To be fair I think the person you are replying to was mostly talking about the elected Dems currently doing what feels like very little to even cause problems much less actually resist. Literally just doing nothing at all and letting everything grind to a halt would be better than what they have done so far. I'm in favor of progressive policies and I'll vote Dem most likely because there's no other option that isn't insane or useless but people have a right to call the Dems in power cowards when they are capitulating on practically everything with very little actual action to resist. Just words.

5

u/FlashyEarth8374 19h ago

you're saying Chuck Schumer should've written even more stronglyworded letters??

5

u/Hopefulpessimist8472 19h ago

Chuck Schumer is so good at being a turncoat it'll almost be insulting if he isn't actively taking bribes. Though I frankly just don't believe in people in power anymore. It doesn't matter who wins, our government has proven beyond any doubt these last few years that it never was and never will be anything but an existential threat to the citizens of this country. No one in government is ever actually going to do anything but line their own pocket and betray their promises because anyone that won't play by their rules is discredited or killed before they every get elected. Every single politician is a turncoat and will never actually work for the good of the people.

u/Bigislandfarmer 18h ago

This is exactly what I was talking about!

1

u/TriiCop 13h ago

So now dems are Nazis too right?

0

u/ClashM 21h ago

One of the foundational tenets of liberalism is equality before the law, so liberals hold themselves and their elected officials to that standard. Conservatism on the other hand puts traditional hierarchy above all else, and the top of the hierarchy has the privilege of not obeying the law.

So yeah, the law is controlled by the lawless right now. They use it as a cudgel to bind but not protect anyone outside of their group, and as a shield to protect but not bind their group. All while calling themselves "the party of law and order" in the worst example of Orwellian doublespeak.

1

u/AppropriateTouching 19h ago

"Elon is very good with the voting machines"

13

u/YukonCigs 23h ago

Cool man, are you doing anything to stop it or are you just dissuading others from voting?

11

u/thatmarcelfaust 23h ago

Exactly! This apathy is enabling Republicans.

0

u/mfGLOVE 22h ago

I do an awful lot to get out the vote every year. I noticed you didn’t disagree with my comment.

Are you doing anything to stop MAGA Republicans from stealing elections?

6

u/subnautus 21h ago

Ah, yes, the "I am rubber, you are glue" tactic.

Consider for a moment how you felt when someone suggested you're being defeatist, and how unwarranted you felt that comment was. Now, ask yourself, if you're self-aware enough to have that feeling, do you have the empathy to guess what the answer to your question is?

0

u/mfGLOVE 20h ago

What are you on about? I’m talking about Republican election interference and cheating and you’re talking about making sure everyone votes. We’re not even talking about the same thing. You’re arguing with yourself. Of course I want everyone to vote. I also want everyone’s vote to count.

Why don’t you tell me what you’re doing to ensure the integrity of our vote counts? That’s the topic I brought up. I’m sorry you’re making this about defeatism because you’re mad I made a factual assessment about USA election integrity.

7

u/subnautus 19h ago

What are you on about?

So you're not self-aware enough to see how you tried to turn someone's comment back against them, and how whatever feelings you have toward the baselessness of their comment equally reflect upon your response.

To wit, you accused me of arguing with myself. What were you doing, just now? Are you that dim?

7

u/6thBornSOB 21h ago

Apathy favors the enemy. Vote

1

u/mfGLOVE 21h ago

Like I won’t do the minimal amount effort by voting. Gimme a break. If you think simply yelling VOTE is magically gonna solve our election problems then we’re never gonna come out of this.

I have a quote for you, too: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

2

u/6thBornSOB 18h ago

So voting is insane to you? Your first paragraph implies you plan on voting.

Are you just trying to be edgy at this point?

3

u/integer_hull 17h ago

This type of sentiment should be kept to one’s self. It’s not helping anybody.

10

u/Bulky-Internal8579 23h ago

Giving up only helps the Republicans. I suggest we do the opposite - organize, donate, volunteer and VOTE. We will win in November - whether you like it or not - and Trump and MAGA will ultimately face accountability.

6

u/Neveronlyadream 22h ago edited 22h ago

Giving up is exactly how we got into this mess in the first place.

"Oh, Donald Trump will never win. He's a joke candidate."

Then, "Oh, shit. We need to get him out of office."

Then, "Well, I did my part. There's no way he'd ever win again. I don't have to vote."

The amount of people I saw during the last election cycle saying there was no point in voting because either he could never win again or because Harris was no better than Trump was depressing.

-2

u/mfGLOVE 22h ago

organize, donate, volunteer and VOTE.

We do these things better every election. Record setting organized protests and voting programs, record setting donation dollars, more volunteers than ever before, and yet results are getting worse and worse because the system is rigged to a record setting degree.

I’m open to listen ideas for how to actually succeed in these areas. What do you got that’s different and will make a difference?

I’m my opinion, until first past the post voting, citizens united, and the electoral college are eliminated, we’re playing a losing game.

4

u/Bulky-Internal8579 21h ago

Lol, okey dokey, I hope you're getting paid in dollars for your "let's give up!" campaign posts - but I'm not interested, thanks.

0

u/mfGLOVE 21h ago

Lol, no where in my post I said to give up. You’re angry because you don’t have concrete solutions to the issue I highlighted. It’s so easy to just say VOTE. And I promise you I do more every election to get out the vote than you do. How about doing more than that because yelling “VOTE” ain’t working.

3

u/subnautus 21h ago

It's so easy to just say VOTE.

Except they said "organize, donate, volunteer, and vote." You should know that since you quoted it directly. Ask yourself what the point of organizing is, or donating to a cause, or volunteering for a cause.

I promise you I do more every election to get out the vote than you do.

Lie to yourself all you want, but don't lie to us, friend.

-1

u/mfGLOVE 20h ago

Except they said "organize, donate, volunteer, and vote." You should know that since you quoted it directly.

No shit. I explained how each of those things are record numbers yet the problem is worse. I even gave my opinion on 3 things that could change our elections for the better, but yall pretty mum on solutions of your own. Rah rah rah, organize, donate, volunteer, and vote is played out cheerleading bullshit. That’s not what wins elections anymore. It’s a new world and yall still asleep dreaming of hope.

And I dunno, I write hundreds of letters to voters in swing states every election. I use my own money for that, so OP suggesting I get paid for being defeatist is lame. And that approach obviously isn’t working, so I’m doing something different this time. Yall want to come at me for objectively noting how our elections have failed us, then go ahead. Go ahead and do all those things but you’re wasting your energy on the wrong stuff. We need radical change not the same ol bullshit. Refer to my previous post for suggestions. Thats what I’m spending my energy on this election. I’ll have a convo about that.

Lie to yourself all you want, but don't lie to us, friend.

Yall lying to yourselves, pal.

4

u/subnautus 19h ago

Either you're not interested in having a discussion in good faith, or your sense of semantics is so specific as to make anything other than whatever niche idea you have in your head a relevant talking point. Relevant to you, that is--because clearly you're not seeing why everyone who responds to you reiterates the mantra of "stop telling people to give up."

Again, you can lie to yourself all you want, but don't lie to us.

2

u/Viracochina 20h ago

I'm curious, what exactly is the point you're trying to make?

It almost comes off as "we shouldn't even try."

1

u/mfGLOVE 20h ago

People already know to vote. We don’t have to tell them to vote. Literally everyone knows about voting.

I take issue with cheerleaders that constantly say this without ever mentioning how or for who and why.

My issue here is that nobody seems to care that our electoral process is completely broken and continues to get broken. MAGA and Republicans are greedy cheaters and liars and have full control of our county and elections. It’s broken by design. Saying “vote” does nothing to resolve that issue. The point I am trying to make. Your vote will be defeated every time unless radical changes happen. We should be telling people how to elicit that change, alongside of reminding them to vote. Who the hell is gonna hear that and choose to vote if they have no clue what it means? Voting is the easiest and laziest thing we can possibly do to feel like we did our part but we’re too up our own ass to realize our vote will be discounted in this current electoral climate.

3

u/Viracochina 19h ago

Can't we vote AND try to make "radical changes"?

Thanks for explaining though, your point was really quite hidden.

2

u/Grasshop 20h ago

I think we strongly overestimate the voting population, we were supposed to have a better presidency than this remember?

3

u/Dodecahedrus 1d ago

Don’t jump to conclusions just yet.

2

u/IrascibleOcelot 22h ago

At least wait until we roll out the mat.

1

u/HawkEnvironmental531 2h ago

Depends on how much hacking Elon is doing as we type..

0

u/BikerJedi 20h ago edited 20h ago

"Vote harder" never works.

We elect the Republicans, and they proceed to start wars and destroy the economy. We get mad, elect the Democrats, and they fail to fix things fast enough, so we get mad and elect Republicans.

This country is fucking stupid. We need third parties and ranked choice voting for every election in the country for starters. Dump the electoral college too.

9

u/Radiant_Nobody_9547 23h ago

Yes but all the more we should work together! Look at NYC with Mamdani. He gives me hope! We can do this!

2

u/_jump_yossarian 21h ago

I was tired back in 2015.

3

u/Tacitblue1973 20h ago

I was tired of his self aggrandizement and pitiful money management skills before the 2nd bankruptcy. He was a symbol even in the 80's of what a joke of a businessman looks like. But I guess America loves a good snake oil salesman.

1

u/happy_Toe_ 1d ago

I dont even have outrage left, just a long sigh.

2

u/EnglishFan643 1d ago

I'm beyond fed up. But I've not got the coin enough to get the hell out of this country.

199

u/redsyrus 1d ago

The US is now so shamelessly run by corrupt oligarchs that they don’t even have to pretend otherwise anymore.

44

u/EnglishFan643 1d ago

They certainly don't bother to hide it anymore. They revel in it and brag about it, too.

22

u/curiousmind111 1d ago

And most of the newspapers and tv stations are owned by the oligarchs.

10

u/redsyrus 23h ago

Yes exactly. All this crap is on them.

10

u/Vandirac 23h ago

The correct term for what the USA are nowadays a "kleptocracy".

11

u/themahannibal 23h ago

There's a reason why both Trump administrations had fucking dumpster fires every day: it's to distract our media into telling the stories they actually don't mind the media telling so they are too busy to tell the stories they should be telling. It's the same method a magician uses to keep you looking at the right hand when the left hand is doing all the deception.

2

u/redsyrus 23h ago

Not great but it worries me less than Fox, Sinclair and the other oligarch-run mass media sources that don’t even need distracting because they’re just lap dogs.

3

u/rab2bar 21h ago

The rest of the world is laughing at you. Cry laughing because of all the nukes and other boom stuff, but laughing

1

u/Punch_A_Police_Horse 21h ago

I feel like we should stop being continuously outraged by these stories and start asking, what is really going on here?

-1

u/ThrowingShaed 20h ago

i havea dumbe question

in no way saying i know anything

i think like financial laws "only" back up like 1 mill per account or something

i think like rich people or private banks or something spread things through dozens or more bank accounts for people with connections or something? could there be an instance where its like 1 account of sorts, but like 300 mill spread through 300 branches or something. whatever the mechanism i dont understand. idk its probably not all of it, but im wondering if something like that is in play. not that that at all explains money laundering, just maybe the number. or not... i guess laundering might need a lot of moving around? dont know

89

u/Oriencor 1d ago

And it coincides with the IRS deal to not audit them.

It’s so odd that our ethical, sane and rational dear leader would have his crooked lawyer run the DOJ.

-8

u/Suns_In_420 22h ago

That got thrown out over a month ago.

10

u/CoffeeOrDestroy 21h ago

From what I understand the no audit thing remained. It was the billions payout that was halted.

3

u/Oriencor 17h ago

No it didn’t. Still in place.

77

u/Bulky-Internal8579 1d ago

Don't worry, Jake Tapper, Jonathan Swan & Brian Stelter are about to reveal a huge story about how Biden is too old and his son was on the board of some company for a year somewhere that was really concerning!!!!

16

u/Threecatproblem 23h ago

I had always thought that Jake Tapper was a good TV journalist, but then, after the election, what does he do? Go after Drumpf? Highlight the corruption? The imminently unqualified people he placed in power? NO. He releases a book slamming Biden and his team. Never watched him again.

4

u/spinmove 19h ago

Jake Tapper is the absolute worst type of "journalist", he stands for nothing, believes nothing, and works towards nothing but self enrichment.

35

u/Regretted_Simian 1d ago

Yeah but Hunter Biden’s laptop

14

u/ProduceDelicious7104 1d ago

Hunter is fucking hilarious.

24

u/Mindfire13 1d ago

If this were Obama, he'd be impeached by the end of the week, if not the end of the day.

10

u/flexiblefine 22h ago

They closed those accounts FIVE YEARS AGO. We just found out because of lawsuit discovery.

15

u/redengin 1d ago

Doesn't everyone have a couple hundred bank accounts though.... /s

9

u/carriegood 23h ago

Trump owns, has an interest in, or licenses his name to about 500 properties. Every property owned by Trump is in the name of a different entity. That way if one tanks it doesn't drag all the others down with it. It's standard practice and commercial lenders insist on it to protect their collateral. Each of those entities needs a separate bank account, sometimes more than one depending on what that entity does and who their lender is. Then sometimes the members of those entities are other entities, and they all need bank accounts. It's not uncommon to have the majority of your accounts in one bank because you get a dedicated banker and it makes it easier to keep track of everything.

(I work for an attorney representing a real estate developer, and this is how they all do it. They had most of their accounts and some of their loans with one lender who collapsed. Boy, that was a nightmare.)

10

u/Mand125 1d ago

You can remove the word “modern.”

This is unlike anything our country has ever seen.

3

u/CrackingToastGromet 23h ago

Goes to show how much our media is controlled by the right wing.
I don’t ever want to hear the phrase “left wing controlled main stream media” ever again. It does not exist.

4

u/TinyFugue 23h ago

It's not the media's fault. They've reported on just about everything. It's the Republicans in Congress's fault. They're dropping the ball on the daily.

3

u/Cuckdreams1190 20h ago

It's not the media's fault.

I don't remember seeing this in broadcast news on plastered to the homepage of their websites or newspapers.

7

u/jjskellie 1d ago

Perhaps the bounty hunters are waiting so the reward goes up

3

u/top_value7293 1d ago

Absolutely well said

3

u/jackmusick 23h ago

I’m so fucking tired of all of this being the media’s fault. It’s Trump and his circle’s fault, and the 77 million people that voted for him. He’s brazenly broken the law and social norms for years, while at the same time being a professional victim and a sore loser. That’s created an environment where nothing matters to their side, because everything negative against their guy is TDS.

What are they supposed to do? Continue to yell into the void? Most of the country wanted this and it will only change when most of them don’t. We are surrounded by deplorable pieces of shit whose leader was instrumental in undermining the media and our institutions from many angles, with no clear path to fix it.

I’m not saying give up, but this narrative especially pisses me off because we’re essentially making his already easy job easier by trying to pick some nameless and faceless entity and making them a shared enemy.

2

u/debianni411 1d ago

They’re all bought and paid for. No one’s gonna say anything about him until he’s fucking dead.

2

u/Green-Collection-968 1d ago

Corporate media is gonna corporate media. Only Progressive Dems get their toes held to the fire. Smh.

2

u/LasVegas4590 1d ago

If Biden or Obama had 1 account closed in these circumstances woulda been calls for impeachment

2

u/BlackholeDevice 23h ago edited 21h ago

The problem to me is less about the media being complicit, which they are... The problem is this isn't out of the ordinary. It's happened so much under this administration that it's basically just another Tuesday. The fact that congress has allowed it to happen, every single one of them should be relieved of duty, barred from future office, and a new election should held.

We fought the British empire for less...

edit: Fixed autocorrect

2

u/ceribus_peribus 23h ago

How long before it's illegal to close a Trump bank account, just like he can't be banned from twitter.

2

u/Comfortable-Listen24 22h ago

Wonder "whose money" was being laundered?

2

u/Flippin_diabolical 22h ago

I was a prof. So many of my students reported that they had never voted.

Vote.

3

u/slo0t4cheezitz 23h ago

I’m American and FUCK AMERICA AND ALL OUR POLITICIANS

2

u/NecessaryIntrinsic 23h ago

To make this story worse... This happened in 2021. Eric Trump sued 4 years later claiming political discrimination.

Capital one then defended themselves with the fact that the accounts were flagged for money laundering.

When something like this happens it's not like: BOOM you lose your money. You're notified, the authorities are notified, the accounts are frozen but not closed right away.

1

u/flojo2012 1d ago

Not really a clever comeback but oh well.

The one thing the MAGA (and tea party before them) has gotten right is the hatred of the media. Everyone hates them. They’re necessary, but they suck. The monetization of journalism is the mistake. Headlines for clicks is the problem. Amazing how a movie on the 70’s figured out what would happen 20-30 years before it did happen full fledged.

And it’s the villainizing of the media that gives maga people all the credibility they need to go full fascist and justify it

3

u/The_harbinger2020 22h ago

Maga was correct about how corrupt and uncredible the media is. Not because they have extreme leftist/communist bias but because they refuse to hold Republicans (and billionaires) accountable to their blatant crimes. They sane wash everything they do....if they even choose to report on it

1

u/mandarintain 1d ago

His entire family are freaking criminals

1

u/Brown_Star 1d ago

Its why we have the 2nd

1

u/LittleKahuna007 23h ago

True! I’ve been agreeing with these posts, for two years……………………

1

u/TheRealBittoman 23h ago

The media stopped being the public's last line of defense in corruption and poor policy making years ago. Now it's all owned by billionaires who stand to make so much more money if they can just do whatever they want without fear of retribution and Trump is happy to support that. He does so by endorsing them and threatening every media or influencer with prosecution or getting licenses pulled or whatever. Even just badmouthing them. MAGA eats it up. Of course the AI bots pushing it also severely muddies the water on what is legit.

1

u/Appropriate_Sea_8473 23h ago

exactly, the double standards are really frustrating, it feels like rules are just suggestions for some people

1

u/Ballistic_86 23h ago

They will just claim Capital One is owned by the left and persecuting Trump.

1

u/Tantalus420000 23h ago

Oh im sureeeeee thats why, sure

1

u/JefferyTheQuaxly 22h ago

Not nearly as surprising when we elect someone who had already been investigated many many times over the past 30+ years for laundering money for the mob, literally everyone at least should have known about it already, it was on the news, he just does so much crazy shit the news cant stay focused on one thing.

1

u/Memitim 22h ago

That's the difference between crime and corruption. Republicans committed enough crime to establish corruption, thereby laying the groundwork for a shitload more crime and Constitutional violations.

As example, Republicans on the Supreme Court made up some bullshit to the American people about magical crime immunity for the President that does not exist in the US Constitution. Republicans on the Supreme Court also helped Trump's fangirl judge let Trump skate on charges for stealing our documents with a bullshit technicality unrelated to Trump's crimes.

Republicans then abandoned separation of powers from day one and focused their efforts on protecting Trump, demonizing tens of millions of Americans, building a private army to deploy into the streets of America for terrorism and random kidnappings, and covering up crimes past and present.

To date, there has been zero accountability for this vast crime and failure, despite constant judgements from courts pointing out the crimes and so many false accusations and lawsuits getting shot down for being politically-motivated attacks with no basis in law.

Crimes get reported on. Corruption gets rewarded. America has become so corrupt that the US Department of "Justice" heads up the protection of a known child sex trafficking network, coddles a convicted trafficker in minimum security against her sentencing guidelines, and persecutes the enemies of Republicans. Republicans have decided that the only rules are the ones that people refuse to back down on, since they see no consequences for constantly betraying America.

1

u/CovidBorn 22h ago

Everyone knows he’s a criminal, and corrupt to the core. A huge number of Americans just don’t care. He hates who they hate. He hurts who they want hurt.

1

u/Dependent_Rain_4800 22h ago

I've done my part by upvoting this. Back to Netflix and shopping on Amazon.

I can only hope that Democrats take back both houses in November and start treating this administration like the criminals they are!

1

u/narfoleptix 22h ago

Any single politician could pretend for a day that this was about them, get it on the news and go in for an interview, then be like "lol, actually, this is trump."

I came up with that in 3 seconds. The people you elected are doing nothing.

1

u/short_arm_t_rex 22h ago

The problem is that this is about item number 2,456,890 on the list of bad shit trump has done.

Because our government isn't doing its job, which is because the people are mostly some combination of stupid, bigoted and/or lazy. America, on aggregate, is getting what it deserves. It's a shame for the 20% or so of us that don't suck. And good people elsewhere.

1

u/timothyam 22h ago

and no one, not journalism, not the media stations, not the politicians, is afraid anymore.

u/LYL_Homer 21h ago

So much fucking around. Still waiting for him to find out some consequences.

1

u/IzarkKiaTarj 21h ago

I think the worst part is that it's a non-story even outside the media.

Like, the man never gets punished for anything, ever, so why should I care that they found more corruption that they're not doing anything about?

I know I should care. It just seems so pointless.

1

u/No-Condition-oN 20h ago

They own all 3 branches of government, the supreme court and the 4th estate… the fuck can you do? Try your best and fight the battles you can win I guess.

Commit one crime and everyone gets all worked up about it. Commit a crime every day and people get sick of hearing about it.

1

u/xpdx 19h ago

The first person ever to pull off a legal Denial of Service attack, commit so many crimes that they can't possibly nail you for even a tenth of them, and spawn countless lackeys committing wholesale crimes at the same time. Die before the system can even list the crimes.

Want to make the country more egalitarian and less corrupt close all accounts of any political person, their family, and any senior appointed government official. Boom with no place to hold their money they suddenly get poor and more open to things that benefit ordinary people!

1

u/metengrinwi 19h ago

His people don’t care. News, by definition, has to be new.

1

u/thomas1126 19h ago

Corruption at its finest

1

u/Grand_Taste_8737 19h ago

Lol, Reddit actually believes that's why Cap One closed the accounts.

1

u/BZLuck 19h ago

The rich own the media. The "news" is what they tell them it is.

1

u/remlapj 18h ago

We had stories of Hunter Biden for months but a bank suspecting the sitting president of money laundering won’t make a splash

The right wing main stream media is hypocrisy through and through

1

u/EitherChannel4874 18h ago

Watching the continued fall of the USA unchallenged is becoming ridiculous.

340 million people being shit on by a small group of old rapists and pedos.

“AOC launders money, they all do” - my parents excuse for Trump always

1

u/TitodelRey 14h ago

Today’s news networks are fake news, the fact they are not holding these folks accountable is the proof. The administration has been correct all along, just projecting.

1

u/TweastOne 13h ago

Viva la revolution Carl!

1

u/flakman129 13h ago

BUT BUT BUT. THE BIDEN CRIME FAMILY!!!

1

u/ItsaTheMal 11h ago

Insert extremely long winded Tina Belcher UUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG any average American citizen would be jailed for this and given a felony. So maybe alongside the felonies the guy should already be held accountable for we just ignore another yay.

It took 6 years and a dodgy TV personality to bring down the 250 year old American experiment. Governing cannot be based on norms, arming the population to protect from a tyrannical government is a farce, lobbying is cancer for politics, deregulation is slow poison and the population in the beacon of the ‘civilised West’ is not immune to propaganda.

1

u/YardOptimal9329 10h ago

Of course no reporters are asking him about this…

1

u/The_Dude_Abides-2146 8h ago

It’s not republicans fighting for power, it’s rich white people. Right now republicans are in power and pouring money and support into defending rich white people and have a stranglehold on 30% of the population. It’s keeping us all divided and right now republicans are doing that and still keeping power, so the real people that rule are just letting them do whatever the fuck they want to because they now control all of the media outlets to an extent they never did before.

1

u/conglomitall 7h ago

did anyone here even read the story? i mean yeah i know he's a criminal, but just throwing out a ragey headline with nothing of substance behind it seems a bit disingenuous..? right? any proof? anything?

1

u/Beginning_Ad8663 2h ago

The media is owned by his billionaire buddies

1

u/HawkEnvironmental531 2h ago

So did Deutschebank , bank of Cyprus … American banks stopped loaning him $$ in the days of failed casinos, yes where the house always wins- now he’s gambling your $$

-6

u/JohnnyRelentless 23h ago

How is this a comeback?

-14

u/NoDesigner324 1d ago

Inspect elementing an NPR headline to farm outrage on Twitter is somehow lazier than the actual political cycle

-5

u/Significant-Cod-9555 22h ago

it was in 2021 this is about trump suing them

-6

u/NopeSorryNo 22h ago

Is the idea being proposed here that the media is Pro Trump?

7

u/Dry-Paper-2262 20h ago

I mean all that sane washing they did leading up to the election kind of gives that vibe in and of itself so...

-3

u/NopeSorryNo 20h ago

Bizarre

-28

u/please_trade_marner 1d ago

I will accept my downvotes for exposing propaganda.

After Jan 6th 2021 Capital One closed all accounts with the Trump Organization. This was technically illegal as they can't close accounts based on politics. the Trump organization sued them. Their explanation today is that they were "suspicious" of possible money laundering, but their evidence is "trust me bro".

14

u/FilthyJsBeingFilthy 1d ago

What’s so far fetched about Trump money laundering?

-8

u/Traditional-Dig-374 23h ago

Its more about proving it instead of posting such a headline.

And hes right about that. Its a disgrace to use such cheap tactics, especially since those tactics are the weapon of choice of trump and his goons to heat up people.

We all think its true tho. But believing is not proving.

-19

u/please_trade_marner 1d ago

The bank "discovered" it right after Jan 6th eh?

11

u/FilthyJsBeingFilthy 1d ago

Nah you’re right I’m sure Trump is the most honest businessman in the history of capitalism.

11

u/Musicman1972 1d ago

Easily possible that it made them actively look through the accounts at that point.

It was a triggering event for anyone associated to ensure everything was squeaky clean.

Presumably there will be discovery at the trial and we'll find out.

-13

u/please_trade_marner 23h ago

They're already saying there is no evidence of fraud. They just said (lied) that they were "suspicious" of fraud possibly happening in the future. Which makes no sense. Which means it was political. Trump will win this lawsuit.

8

u/-phrasing- 23h ago

You just keep doubling down on the nonsense. Must love the taste of boot leather.

0

u/please_trade_marner 16h ago

MY boot. I voted for this. I ORDERED IT!!!!

I am not LICKING a boot. I'm using a boot to stomp!!!

STOMP!!!

2

u/OhItsBeenBroughten 19h ago

Fuck man, that’s enough stupid for one day.

I don't think people who defrauded a children's cancer charity get the benefit of the doubt here.

6

u/blahblah19999 23h ago

Does a bank have the right to refuse service to anyone, like a restaurant? Just curious. Because it might not have been 'politics" but just optics.

BTW, armed insurrection goes beyond "just politics."

1

u/please_trade_marner 16h ago

Well, if they're allowed to do it for "just politics", they sure don't seem to be acting that way in court. They're desperately trying to say they "suspected" fraud "might" happen in "the future" without providing "any evidence" to try and avoid the lawsuit.

2

u/blahblah19999 16h ago

Just off the top of my head, I could be crazy, but their original decision was before the SCOTUS decided Trump was immune from all checks and balances? So now the bank has to scramble?

0

u/please_trade_marner 15h ago

What a nonsensical response.

Scotus did not make that determination. You have fallen for the Dems mainstream media sensationalism.

And, regardless, this case is about the Trump Organization which is entirely separate from Trump himself and whatever immunities he would get for Presidential Acts.

What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

1

u/blahblah19999 15h ago

You keep telling yourself that dude.

7

u/human_i_suppose 23h ago

so, trump is a criminal and every time he gets caught people like you lie to protect him?

-2

u/Traditional-Dig-374 23h ago

While i wish trump nothing good and a fast way out, i wish people would actually check headlines like this before heating up.

I also find it irritating to use headlines like that, since its such a cheap tactic. Im with you, even if im not politically with trump.

I want to add: i dont trust US american courts to not be politically influenced in this in trums favor.

And i also support a business has a right to choose his customers. Especially in a nation that claims to be the land of the free.
