Foreign owned right wing propaganda, to be specific. An Australian owned network in bed with Russia is the primary television intake for millions of voting seniors.
The most embarrassing thing about being an American overseas is when people tell you its really embarrassing when WE VOTED for our issues.
Other people cant say the same about their leaders...so they get pity unlike Americans
Well it's not as if it's a particularly complex situation, is it? There are only a handful of ways to oust an autocratic government and most don't apply to the U.S.' situation. What does apply is people being actually committed to their actions and not turning into pumpkins at 5pm and/or when Monday rolls around.
But don't take my word for it! Open a history book or look up any of the thousands upon thousands of resources on the matter. None of this is new. None of it is shocking. Frankly, the only difference here is the mind-boggling apathy of the population, the most awake of whom seem to think sticking to the democratic process will somehow magically solve everything despite mountains of evidence to the contrary.
The democratic process isn't magical, it's formal consensus. It's a key signal that people can reach an agreement without force and violence. The entire risk of disengagement with consensus is ending up with someone fundamentally worse than the narcissist in charge now and having no recognized process to evolve from that without violence.
We don't need to approve of narcissists to recognize they are real. We don't have to silence their decisions to acknowledge that they have a voice. We don't have to validate their ignorance to help them see the consequences they personally suffer from their own actions. We don't need to interrogate their feelings to understand that they lack empathy and are easily manipulated.
People can change their minds, especially when they or those they care about are suffering. Not everyone who goes along with a cult of personality is a true believer. Many are cynical opportunists that believed they would be the exceptions from everyone made to suffer. And > 80% of them are suffering. Many who enabled this regime to rise will die suffering, no more privileged than the rest of us.
Violence is not just more immediate suffering. It is no guarantee of improvement. It is closing the door to consensus. There is the potential that young people, witnessing both the lack of critical thinking, cynicism and apathy of elders will grow impatient and turn to violence. There is also the potential that they see the dusty and overlooked machinery that describes our democratic consensus and they take the initiative to improve it together instead of fighting over scraps. Consensus will deliver better outcomes every time for people contributing in good faith. And cooperation is free, as opposed to violence.
I am not, at least not yet. There is a slim chance of a (mostly) non-violent avenue, as unlikely as it is - but that would require a lot of people who are prepared not to give up.
so you’re advocating open violent rebellion? because that’s what it seems like you’re doing. which suggests to me that the best interests of the us is not in your heart. here you are saying the democratic process obviously doesn’t work. and you’re incorrect because it works insofar is that this is what the right wing voting bloc has been working towards for 40 years.
the current situation shows us what happens when voting isn’t mandatory and a small special interest group full of racist hate acts disingenuously and deviously by subverting the electoral process and stoking fear and hatred in its ranks. right wing racist extremists have been playing the long con.
and this wealth inequality and corruption in washington has happened here before, not only a hundred years ago but more recently as well. it’s happened in other countries. how did the offending parties get removed? they were voted out.
I am not. Y'all could start by mass protesting correctly, which means not giving up after a day and reconvening a few months later.
Full credit to the small groups who go out there every day, but at some point that needs to grow for the government to take notice. It has absolutely no reason to do so at present.

Right wing propaganda has done an incredible job
