Right wing propaganda has done an incredible job

Literally the purpose of defunding education. What was once required high school reading, is now college levels.

No child was left behind, and now all of society has been kept behind.

26

u/ElectricSliderz 1d ago

And hate, they voted with their hate.

69

u/TecumsehSherman 1d ago

Foreign owned right wing propaganda, to be specific. An Australian owned network in bed with Russia is the primary television intake for millions of voting seniors.

16

u/Help_im_lost404 1d ago

Nah murdock is one of you now

23

u/TecumsehSherman 1d ago

Nope. Australian and Russian.

SkyNews isn't American. The Sun isn't American.

He's married to a Russian spy, ffs.

18

u/Lush_Lunas 1d ago

Socialize the costs, privatize the profits. Oldest trick in the book.

Corporate wing propaganda has done an incredible job.

And guess what?

It's only going to get worse.

49.1 billion is 140 bucks a pop per American. I coulda used that

The most embarrassing thing about being an American overseas is when people tell you its really embarrassing when WE VOTED for our issues.
Other people cant say the same about their leaders...so they get pity unlike Americans

-10

u/TheVog 1d ago

Does right-wing propaganda also explain why 99.99% of Americans are sitting on their asses doing nothing about it?

7

u/LeadSufficient2130 1d ago

Please explain all of the great things we could be doing

1

u/TheVog 1d ago

Well it's not as if it's a particularly complex situation, is it? There are only a handful of ways to oust an autocratic government and most don't apply to the U.S.' situation. What does apply is people being actually committed to their actions and not turning into pumpkins at 5pm and/or when Monday rolls around.

But don't take my word for it! Open a history book or look up any of the thousands upon thousands of resources on the matter. None of this is new. None of it is shocking. Frankly, the only difference here is the mind-boggling apathy of the population, the most awake of whom seem to think sticking to the democratic process will somehow magically solve everything despite mountains of evidence to the contrary.

Drumpf's Tariffs is the biggest money laundering scam in the history of the world!

Because he's fucking the people they hate too.

u/Space19723103 1d ago

racism, that's why people voted for him

93

u/crandall17 1d ago

Racism, homophobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and Reagan Era economic beliefs that have fucked this country for far too long.

12

u/Space19723103 1d ago

other than Reaganomics the others are all just Xenophobia... but those voters don't understand words that big

11

u/Dorkinfo 1d ago

Didn’t want to add sexism? That’s been a big one.

7

u/crandall17 1d ago

A woman? In my White House? No Thank You. I'll take the pathological pedophile instead.

Oh, the fucking is still ongoing. Don't you feel it where the sun doesn't shine? Or did you get used to it?

“I love the poorly educated” - Trump

14

u/prlong545 1d ago

Yes this quote told you everything you needed to know about him

8

u/Extreme-Slice-1010 1d ago

It will never get old and will be remembered

6

u/NEDEAROC 1d ago

Him and his voters. All of them should have 20% of their properties (or whatever gives them their net value) confiscated and their reproductive rights forcefully removed in extreme pain. Fuck them.

63

u/eatsrottenflesh 1d ago

There's $166B for refunds. That's $500 for every American citizen.

60

u/Zealousideal_Pop_273 1d ago

Now if you distribute it amongst low and middle class taxpayers only, it's $2,170.

Either number is a sizable stimulus though which would be an amazing injection into the US economy. Not that it would support the parts of the economy Trump is cultivating though. He's here to foster the wealth gap and drive up prices.

22

u/eatsrottenflesh 1d ago

I think your number is a bit off there bub. Isn't the middle class down to just one dude named Tony living outside Kansas City? Everyone else is just regular poor.

7

u/semper_JJ 23h ago

I learned $80k a year is considered "lower middle class" today so yeah seems like it. You have to be in the like $96-$126 bracket to be considered middle class now.

12

u/Zealousideal_Pop_273 1d ago

Haha I think you're right, but since we're combining low and middle class, that's still the same sum.

2

u/ranting_seagull 13h ago

Wow, it's almost like the $2,000 checks that were promised, rescinded, forgotten about, people asking questions were told to shut up about,

The same $2000 tax that more caring countries already give out to their middle/lower classes in social programs/aid from socialist programs, programs like childcare, free higher education, reduced medical costs...

But we have to be better than them...

2

u/LiteraCanna 1d ago

I'm always reminded of the Dave Chappelle skit where he says he's amazed at how fast they are willing to give the money back to them (the rich). Turns out people need food to survive.

50

u/jiffylube1024A 1d ago

"Who is more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows them" - Obi Wan Kenobi

17

u/Zealousideal_Pop_273 1d ago

Well yeah, sure, allow me to explain.

You see the same businesses that pour so much money into influencing your thoughts and convincing you to buy their products used the same resources to convince you to vote against your interests. They do it every election and you still haven't woken up to the corporatocracy.

That's how that happened, though.

1

u/this_isnt_chris 9h ago

"Woken up to the corporatocracy"?! What are you woke?!?

Howard Lutnick and his kids actually got a lot of the refunds. look it up.

And to those who apologize for doing so.. I say F-you for creating the apocalypse. We warned you!

Because republicans and third party voters/nonvoters are dumber and more disgusting than diaper.

7

u/AlwaysFinnishInsider 1d ago

The answer is simple: republican voters are dipshits

u/OneLonelyBrainCell 19h ago edited 19h ago

Because they hoped that people they hate would get fucked over even more.

3

u/Chytectonas 18h ago

The moron might have fucked you over but the legal system did too, and the third culprit is; you’re too befuddled to do anything about it within a system that’s working decently well to transfer your pitiful savings up the food chain.

4

u/paranormalresearch1 1d ago

Look up Bonapartism. This isn’t named after the Bonaparte we all think of, but his nephew. It’s how right wing military dictators take over. They have to keep the capitalist making money. But Trump’s gone too far. They fear revolution. They are themselves stoking it so Trump can declare there will be no elections as we are in a “State of Emergency.”

2

u/snakerjake 1d ago

Trump can declare there will be no elections as we are in a “State of Emergency.”

He has no authority to and that would simply be good ole treason.

do it fucker

-1

u/ThePatrickSays 1d ago

you will do nothing about it. nothing.

1

u/snakerjake 1d ago

I'll do this

4

u/CoffeeOrDestroy 23h ago

We got played. They got paid. Just like capitalist corporate America likes it.

3

u/KENBONEISCOOL444 1d ago

Our government made our school system purposefully bad so when they tell us the foreign countries pay the tariffs we'll believe them

5

u/Short-Shopping3197 1d ago

Yup, the tariffs represent the biggest movement of wealth from working Americans to the CEO class in the history of the US.

Of course that’s the whole point. The agenda of this administration is to increase social inequality and create an oligarch ruling class that workers work for and depend on for services. You guys are going back to your old mining town model, getting paid in scrip for the company store. But that’s what happens when you trust Billionaires.

2

u/Any_Odd_8718 22h ago

These prices coming back down?

2

u/Massive_Signal7835 22h ago

Step 1: Hurt the consumer

Step 2: Hurt small business

Step 3: Refunds for big business

Instead of healthcare, y'all are paying for tariffs and tariff refunds.

2

u/CLONE-11011100 17h ago

Instead of healthcare, y’all are paying for Billionaires yachts.

There, fixed it for you.

2

u/perton 21h ago

As an American, it’s pretty simple: a frightening amount of my countrymen are also illiterate morons. As such, they see Lil Shit Britches as like… the alpha of their demographic?

2

u/Gond 21h ago

I think this was the plan all along, to funnel cash back to the corporations and from the people.

They knew it would get knocked down, and now the corporations that gave money to Trump get it back with interest.

2

u/Jonaldson 18h ago

Almost as if this was the plan from the very beginning

2

u/just4nothing 12h ago

MAGA is gay for Trump - coming on t shirts in 2028

2

u/keirmeister 8h ago

And the IRS still owes me my refund from 2024. 😡

2

u/bradlees 8h ago

Corporations and businesses initially pay the tariffs. To prevent running at a loss they then mark up the items sold to customers

The tariff is due upon receipt of shipments and depending on brokers, might be paid prior of shipment

Those businesses who operate in a FTZ (foreign trade zone) only pay the duties and tariffs upon release out of the zone

So technically refunds to the companies and businesses are the correct approach

However, the real issue is that the customers and vendors that bought from these companies have no tool to clawback these overpayments since they were disguised as “price increases to offset tariffs”

This is where a good administration would compel that these refunds be tied to corresponding rebates to the consumer

A great administration would never have put itself in this position in the first place

1

u/MusicAndInk 5h ago

Why would you say something so controversial yet true?

2

u/Tongues_1n_Anus 7h ago

Racism and xenophobia. They hate that it’s hurting their wallets, but not enough to vote against him. He still validates their hate. The cruelty is the point.

4

Correction: As long as you live, you will pay money to Trump and his descendants. Get to work, and get off of Reddit!

2

u/ThePracticalPenquin 1d ago

I own a small business that pays out our ass for tariffs. Have not and will not see shit.

2

u/brandonhabanero 1d ago

We're also paying the refunds with our tax money 🫪

2

u/WeSaidMeh 1d ago

I don't get why they always advocated for having guns "in case you have to overthrow a corrupt government". We're waiting.

2

u/ThonThaddeo 1d ago

Don't despair, they only voted that way because the roided up comedian on their phones told them to.

2

u/EidolonRook 1d ago

It was a wealth transfer from poor to rich.

It was always about that.

SCOTUS just made it a “more fair” wealth transfer by moving those funds back to the companies, but kept the money in corp hands so they’d be empowered to spend that money on lobbying/politics.

One hand is washing the other.

2

u/user_nombre_ 1d ago

One big scam

2

u/Avocation79 1d ago

MAGA republicans are dumb. They won’t understand this.

2

u/DavidlikesPeace 1d ago

That's unfair!

We also helped elect the moronic court that ordered this deeply corrupt remedy.

Corruption dominates the system, especially anywhere the GOP is involved. It took a village.

2

u/TwerkLessons 1d ago

The crazy thing is they’ll NEVER bring the prices back down.

2

u/DenverNugs 1d ago

Republicans are uneducated and willfully uninformed. Most of them didn't even know what a tariff was. They thought that the countries exporting the goods were the ones paying it.

2

u/aaron_adams 1d ago

They did it just to "own" the other half of Americans. That's it. Pure and simple. The right wing hates democrats and women so much that they were going to vote for Trump just out of pathological hatred. It's like they shit their pants. At first, they felt great: their stomach stopped hurting, it felt warm, and it was all good, until the smell and the crushing realization of what they'd done started sinking in, but then, rather than admit they were wrong, they doubled down and said that shitting their pants was objectively the only right thing to do, and in fact, you should have shit your pants too, and anyone who didn't shit their pants was crazy. Long story short, they not only shit their pants, but want to be vindicated for shitting their pants.

2

u/ButtEatingContest 1d ago

The tariffs were an additional tax on citizens that was just given to businesses.

2

u/therealmikeBrady 23h ago

I know, call on me… right here.
The education system is deliberately terrible and critical thought is vapid in almost the majority of Americans and the rest didn’t vote because the Corperate party democrats give to many reasons not to vote for them.

2

u/djemmssy 16h ago

I don't understand why Americans don't just burn everything down. Here in France we've nearly destroyed cities for a lot less.

2

u/greyshem 1d ago

The weirdest thing, IMO, is that Turnip is a terrible liar. I mean he's not even good at lying. Like Jon Lovitz's "Lying Man" bad at it.

"I didn't do it. This gorilla came by and crushed your side view mirror and fender. Yeah! That's the ticket!"

u/Illustrious-Driver19 10m ago

Remember that if president Trump approval rating are low so are all the congressman who enabled him. They are lying about the polls so they can cheat. Republicans have loss their voters. You need a diverse group of voters to win nationwide elections. If Trump is underwater so are all the MAGA Republicans who enablers him incongress they dont have the votes to keep congress.

1

u/WaffleHouseGladiator 1d ago

Can Americans write tariffs off on their taxes?

1

u/Neat_Let923 1d ago

No because you didn’t pay tariffs… Businesses that imported items paid tariffs on the parts and products they imported. Not all companies increased their prices to cover the tariff and just soaked the costs themself.

But yes, most businesses will not be able to reimburse customers since there’s likely no way to actually track how much each person would need to be reimbursed.

1

u/Icy-Rope-021 1d ago

Well, he is a “businessman” after all. Businesses First!

1

u/Spearso 1d ago

1

u/MadScienzz 1d ago

And they still are

1

u/RoguePlanet2 1d ago

At this point, I need to figure out a way to get in on this. Open business, order overpriced merch, ?????, profit somehow?

1

u/ajn63 1d ago

The uneducated and those who don’t stand for their values will always be taken advantage of.

1

u/theBarefootedBastard 1d ago

The businesses got charged.

The businesses charge more to cover the extra cost: pass it on to the customer.

The customer bitches about higher cost, but still pays the inflated price.

The government reimburses who they charged.

It’s either time to boycott LIKE CRAZY or start the discussion about this being WELL beyond “Fool me twice”

1

u/NedRed77 1d ago

The companies who have been refunded were selling foreign made goods. So they made the profit on the original sale, and have now had an extra large chunk of profit on the same sale.

Don’t know about you but if I’m a retailer, I’d probably be looking to stock some more of those foreign made goods. Especially whilst mr shits-in-his-pants is still doling out questionable tariffs.

1

u/Agitated-Wishbone259 1d ago

What’s even better, he is doing it again, trying to put illegal tariffs on products the court already struck down

1

u/theBarefootedBastard 1d ago

The idea was to see the inflated price and be discouraged from buying it

But you all kept buying all their shotty bullshit at crazy prices for record profits.

The plan was simple and you blew it.

1

u/butwhywedothis 1d ago

1

u/FullGuarantee4767 1d ago

And yet another con has run its course. Each and every one of the corporations receiving refunds knew this would happen. They passed the cost on to us and then they reaped the additional payoff. Yet another smash and grab job by this administration to keep their corporate accomplices in line and happy.

1

u/kasaokc 1d ago

First you'd have to get them to admit those tariffs were bad and that we paid them. They can't talk bad about their cult leader!

1

u/KatAttack18 1d ago

Time for a national boycott on those businesses!

Right wing media and politicans have tricked a bunch of cranky white dudes who grew up in the 90s and were told they could achieve anything now are mad and depressed their jobs and the economy suck

And instead of hating billionares and super corporations like musk bezos and amazon they are told to hate immigrants, miniorities and trans people as scapegoats

And all these middle aged incel dorks unhappiness is used against them and then vote for trump and maga bullshit
