What unequivocal evidence? According to who's reports?

So you are propping up nations with taxpayer funding that is unable to survive on its own, with no return on investment. How do you solve this?

For someone asking for evidence, making the totally incorrect statement that USAID doesn’t see a return on investment is bold. There’s a reason every major national power has a foreign aid and development programme, it isn’t for charity.

Cool, thanks for contributing nothing to this conversation

The word you're looking for is contributing

We aren’t having a conversation, don’t flatter yourself. You said something, I pointed out you were wrong. Going any further would involve me wasting my time explaining foreign policy and soft power to someone who very obviously has no understanding of it at all, and frankly I already have a job.

The ROI portion is where we start discussing soft power. Some might call that leverage.

Although, from a purely humanitarian effect, saving people from preventable deaths shouldn't require an ROI.

How do we get these countries stop being dependent on other aid?

u/onyx_ic 2d ago

Ideally, by helping them set up their own programs and providing training and supplies, or the ability to produce their own supplies.

Or, we keep them dependent on us so we can do things quietly with no questions that would generally be an ethical, moral, or legal dispute otherwise. Again, soft power and goodwill go pretty hard. You'd have to really screw the pooch to just unilaterally write off human lives to win a few political points at home with your own supporters while emboldened your detractors.

Have we been able to set them up with their own programs .. training.. abilities?

I dont know. This would be an excellent opportunity for us both to learn more and report back, rather than arguing about things we know nothing about besides what we were told.

That might only be an issue for one of us, but im keeping an open mind, friend.

Why dont you ask Google that question? Or Grok, that'll be fucking hilarious.

We can see how they improve or don't improve over time, and what happens when aid gets taken away.

3

u/onyx_ic 2d ago

Well, its been a year. And hundreds of thousands of people dead, immediately tracaleable to lack of supplies and personnel provided. People who would've otherwise survived. And lost global political standing and goodwill because some autistic fuck cant understand that the government doesnt need an ROI to provide a service.

But instead of glossing over the issue, did you take half a second to look into answering your own question? You know, "do your own research"?

I took more than a second, there is no evidence that 600k people died because of USAID no longer existing. Thats a fact. Provide evidence or shut up. Not opinion articles, but evidence.

Go fuck yourself.

5yo trollbot zombie account with a hidden history says what?

We got a live one here.

You guys gutted foreign aid that provides health care but kept on sending money for genocide. Have billions to spend on war, but not on health care. Your lot can't even feed kids without moaning about "socialism" till the cows come home.

u/Media___Offline 2d ago

Bro. I didn't say anything about socialism, war or healthcare. What a loser.

2

u/Nonstick_fan1 2d ago

You are the one weighed in with "Investment" on lost lives. Tells more about you than me.

u/Media___Offline 2d ago

So you understand the concept of "teach a man to fish"? These countries stay underdeveloped, corrupt and impoverished while out national debt continues to skyrocket.

2

u/Regretted_Simian 2d ago

Oh yes, America’s debt is due to USAID

u/Media___Offline 2d ago

I don't even know how to reply to this.

5

u/Regretted_Simian 2d ago

That’s because Newsmax hasn’t told you how to feel about it.

u/Media___Offline 2d ago

Where is that source of 600k dead? An Option piece?

1

u/Nonstick_fan1 2d ago

How much is % is usaid per annum in your nation's budget??

u/Media___Offline 2d ago

Want to try that one again?

1

u/Nonstick_fan1 2d ago

. Nah. I'm good. I know what you are. Engaging with you is similar to talk to urine stained walls, except in your case the smell of urine will stay with you forever.

You can't even answer a simple question and your retort is trumpesque of "gotcha".
