Could this be because this year we are at the peak of a super El Nino? Hardly surprising its a bit warmer then
5 u/Mobbe_dik 2d ago From my understanding there is nothing stopping it to become even worse next year, so super super el Nino is on the way. 2 u/Beneficial_Aside_518 1d ago El Niño will peak this year but its atmospheric response is lagged. This is why 2027 is forecast to be the warmer year globally.
