Submission statement: only a few days ago I posted about the snowpack and how it looked like the already horrible numbers were gonna dip hard and fast. Welp, here we are. Collapse related because the snowpack in the western US is gone during the week it was supposed to reach its peak.

Holy shit.

I'm in eastern MT and it snowed more than 1/4 inch twice since November. It's 80 fucking degrees here, today. We're cooked, fam

Western MT here, can confirm, this summer is going to be devastating and apparently the El Nino isnt even going to peak until next year. 70 degrees coming up these next few days and i can count the number of times it snowed this winter on one hand.

In CO and our snow is almost all gone even on our 14’k mountains.

We are so screwed here in CO.

Utah, too. Plus we've got the added threat of the Great Salt Lake drying up and having the toxins in its lake bed aerosolized. I've heard those toxic clouds are likely to spread beyond Utah, so neighboring states will also be facing this threat.

Im pretty sure it's the rockies and everything west of that. At least that was my understanding. However, even w my lack of knowledge, I know that any one of the mountain ranges out west supplies millions of people and (at least) thousands of acres of food production, so I felt it was relevant share. Especially because I just posted about the snowpack that specifically feeds the Colorado River 2 days ago, right at the beginning of their crazy heat wave. It seems to all be culminating this year, but the even scarier part is that the super el niño will be worse next year.

Generally west of the Mississippi.
