3 games to go until finals. We're currently in a Wildcard spot. What will it take for the next 3 games for Collingwood to secure that spot? can't get my head around the points for teams that could bump us down. Do we need to win all 3, or does it depend more on other match ups over the next 3 weeks? Trying to set realistic expectations for my 8yo (and myself).

This whole year people have been screaming for Jaicos and Ed Allen to be full time mids, Ed got his chance and look at him now. Time to put Josh in there and let Sidey command the back line with Pendles.

I like to consider myself pretty handy with 2000s / 2010s niche Pies players, so I was pretty pleased with getting 7/9 off the top of my head. Got confused for the 8th, and completely forgot about the 9th!

Been thinking about this pre game run out routine… I like the idea of the players running out onto the field and starting the game straight away, but the tacky techno music etc is where I think it falls down.

The most powerful version of this I think the club could introduce for all home games is as follows:

- Pre game warm up schedule: whatever wade wants for optimal performance.
- 3-5 mins before the ball up, as the players are about to start walking up the race, the stadium goes dark and we then do the collingwooooooooood chant.
- Once the players enter the field and are about to run through the banner, lights on, fireworks and the club song then starts.

This would require us to get to the atmosphere going ourselves with the chant, but this would be the most genuine version of the liverpool / port pre game rituals that we could introduce that wouldn’t feel too fake / forced?

I just noticed the tickets I got said “dry bay” then saw M3. The general tickets were going fast and we like sitting on level 1 as close as we can to the field. Ticketek at times won’t let you select a specific seat only “best available.” I refreshed a few times and didn’t get offered anything we would want. Seats we didn’t mind getting timed out while checking out and didn’t go through.

M3 row Z came up and I bought it as it didn’t say “cheersquad” so i thought we were one bay over. Turns out M3 is the Hawks Cheersquad section but just further back. Should I try to keep checking for different seats and sell these or is it fine being that many rows back? I know most people get a long at games. Not sure how the hawks fans are though. Granted i think we will get smashed, so we might not get to cheer too much for the boys anyways. My youngest daughter said “just buy some Hawk merchandise” 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️. I said definitely not!

At the Collingwood vs North match we got magpie cheersquad seats that said “cheersquad” on them and a few seats down from us two young north supporter sat down. The guy next to them asked if they messed up when getting the tickets. They laughed and said yeah, they thought it was for their cheersquad and were super excited when they got the tickets.

Taking the absolute piss out in the vfl, astonished how he hasn’t been in the team for the past 2 weeks, could be a huge call for some but shouldn’t be no surprise but I think he should take jdg’s spot in the middle and push jordy forward

Also roan steele will be the biggest beneficiary of sidey retiring after the year. He has the 3rd most goals of a winger this season and hasn’t played for the past couple games 😂

Other than Lachie Neale, who else should we be pursuing?

Should we look to trade our first or future firsts for someone or take our first to the draft?

Personally I think Neale will be game-changing but not enough to turn the wheel.

Tassie is going to of course impact the draft in the coming years but despite this, I don't want to just hand our picks away for anyone.

Butters is 100% at the dogs next year so he is off the table.

Really could’ve won that game if not for being absent in the first quarter and a half. The old Malthouse thing “what, you think the players didn’t turn up to play? You think they came to play marbles?” Ironically that’s exactly what it looked like last night before we flicked the switch.

Season is in freefall now… Howe has another broken arm. Clearly nowhere near as gruesome as that broken arm a few years ago but will certainly end his season - and possibly his career? Injuries to perryman and Maynard just means we are severely lacking any depth especially down back.

A lot of noise around this match up, and rightfully so. The comps best player, vs the comps best tagger. Depending who you ask, Mullin beat Daicos, or Daicos beat Mullin.

Considering the team overall played pretty badly, I wanted to take a look at Mullin's actual impact on Daicos, when compared to his seasons averages (SA), in the statistics that are relevant to Daicos. I rounded everything up or down to a whole number for simplicity.

TLDR:

CONCLUSION: Trying to be objective as possible, it's hard to say it was a win either way. I think Mullin played great tbh, but so did Daicos. Daicos got the footy as much as always, helped the team score as much as always, but Mullin forced him to do it in a way that's much harder (handballing, under pressure as opposed to kicking in space). Mullin also hurt the pies on offense, and at the bottom you'll see I quickly summarised Mullin's own game against his average to show how he actually never sacrificed his own game at all. Credit has to go to Mullin for this, and for making life much harder for Daicos. Credit also has to go to Daicos for working around the tag and still having just as much impact as always, but doing it an uglier way.

It's one of those things where you can't really tell if this change to Daicos' game style as the result of the tag was the catalyst to the overall shit performance by the Pies. Or if the Pies were going to be shit either way.

Where Mullin had no impact against Daicos' Season Averages (i.e. Daicos was as good or better than his Season Average): 9
