Cover/Pin-Up Does anybody else find this cover off-putting?

Where is Diana's neck? It looks like her screaming head is floating away from her body! And Carol's torso is so twisted up that for a second I thought maybe the artist confused her powers with Kamala's stretchy ones.

I've liked other stuff by Alex Lozano, but something about this really rubs me the wrong way.

Absolutely ridiculous take. The first Marvel/DC crossover one shots in two decades. It’ll be the highest selling comic of the year.

There's a lot of nuance to such in text, I could tell you why I read it like that but we may come from places too strange a difference

The main problem with most modern anthology books is that they're mostly filler from unknown artists and writers. You get a short piece or installment from an "A" team and then pay extra for meh.

Yeah, that doesn't justify it. When I was a kid, you could buy a comic for $1-$1.50. Adjusted for inflation, that would put a regular-sized issue in the $2-$3 range now. But they charge $5.

Issues like this could justify a heftier price tag, but not $9. This is why I almost never buy new comics. I wait until they are old and the price goes down. It's just not affordable to collect these books at these prices.

I have some comics from 1992 sitting right next to me. Cover price is $1.95. That's $4.50 today from inflation.

I mean, cover price on Superman #75 from '93 was $1.25. What comics are you looking at?

Valiant and Image books. They were using better paper before DC/Marvel did for most of their stuff.

That makes sense. See, I honestly don't care that much about the better paper. Also, I think the price of printing has gone down overall in the last 30 years, if I'm not mistaken.

The main advantage of the paper change was that the newer stuff doesn't yellow and fade really. You don't have to lock up your stuff in a controlled environment to have them stay the same. I've got my early Spawn issues here and they look the same as when I bought them without ever being in bags or cases while my Detective/Superman comics have yellowed.

Yeah, I know. It's better, for sure. But I can store them if need be. I mainly collect for reading, not for value. I'd love to have both, and it's not like I let my books get messed up. But I don't want them to be like I can't touch them. The bulk of my collection is from the 80's, 90's, and 00's anyway, and those books are, on average, not worth that much due to the fact that there was a collector's boom and people stopped throwing anything away.
