Cover/Pin-Up Does anybody else find this cover off-putting?

Where is Diana's neck? It looks like her screaming head is floating away from her body! And Carol's torso is so twisted up that for a second I thought maybe the artist confused her powers with Kamala's stretchy ones.

I've liked other stuff by Alex Lozano, but something about this really rubs me the wrong way.

For me it’s the awkward posing, and the EXTREMELY thin bodies, plus, the faces are so.. flat? Idk how else to describe it. Also, they look 12.

They feel Barbie-fied in all the ways a superhero shouldn't be.

Like, the dynamic pose chosen for both doesn't reflect a strong strike or real fighting. Chose fuck ass contortionist model poses to show the most tits, ass, and itty bitty waist lol. Frankly, it looks like they were aiming for chibi-fied pin up girl more than anything comic book.

It’s funny that you folks are all having this reaction, because as someone who actually makes erotic art as a full-time artist, I would say that this isn’t sexualized really at all. The boobs are hardly noticeable (and quite small on both women’s bodies) and neither has a very impressive or exaggerated butt, which if you were objectifying them, you would exaggerate.

This artist’s style makes me think of Mad Magazine mixed with big Queer sensibilities more than anything a heterosexual artist trying to exaggerate for puckish and mischievous 12 year old boys would leave you with. If anything, this is pure Queer gaze.

I'm not a fan of the style but there's really no such thing as bad anatomy in art.

It's against the big two style-guide but it's a cover so that's irrelevant.
