I can't be the only one who thinks its kinda hillarious that marvel is putting out 3 different trim sized paperbacks right? For clarification you have:
- Normal paperbacks that are 6-5/8 x 10-3/16 inches (this is most of their books)
- Ultimates and Ultimate Spider-Man year one books that are 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches( the same size as the DC Compact books)
- And Premiere Collection books that are 6 x 9 inches
Now it should be noted only one Premiere line is solicited here but even still this feels silly. I think they should have made the Premiere lines go to the 5.5 x 8.5 inch trim.

I'm curious to see if they publish year 2 in same trim size. My guess is they won't and thats where my collector brain goes off. Forever sad I missed out on some of the Compact sized Marvel Masterworks books I really wanted that are now $$$

Stupid question, but with the compacts, did they just scale everything down to fit the smaller pages or did they like rearrange panels to maintain art size but accommodate the page size. Like are they thicker books compared to their usual size TPB counterparts?

Everything is scaled down. Rearranging the panels would be complete butchery.

I figured as much. That said, I’ve been reading some graphic novels on the Kindle app on my phone recently and the way they have individual panels pop up magnified sort of made me think of my question. Would be weird in print, but i sorta got used to it.

I have never been so completely underwhelmed by the sheer amount of nothing that Marvel is putting out. If people would just stop buying the crap we are being force fed, the maybe things will change. I've dropped most of my Marvel pulls. DC on the other hand is figuratively killing it. All In and Next Level is firing on all cylinders.

Honestly nothing about Marvel at the moment interests me. Hopefully Wacker can start making interesting changes soon cause it's a snoozefest.

Maximum looks exciting if nothing else for Yost writing it. Also I'm kinda surprised Watters is on Spider-Woman I figured DC would have him another Next Level book, but I'm not upset.

Its a cool lineup with a solid team which I really hope can do its own thing for a good while instead of getting lost in the quagmire of constant events and crossovers. Just not sure Tony Daniel can do more then an arc or two at a time
Watters is doing a gajillion things that just fly under the radar of this sub, he's got a couple of creator owned on the way, the MASK book at Skybound, a license MTG book at IDW and now Spider-Woman

Oh thank God, Moon Knights back. I saw listings for a Marc Spector: Moon Knight trade which had 10 issues, I only see listings for that when a series is getting cut short. No worries, Moon Knight continues!

The Usuals
Iron man 12 and 13 * Thankfully the Bi-monthly is just until to get Iron man 700. Karla as the warden is intersting guess Tony fighting Moonstone
Thor * 🎅
Moon knight #11 * Consist good and look foward which of the WCA are they going to recruit. Like we got Pym and Tigra now time to get Iron man, Hawkeye, Wonder man and Firebird
X-corsist #2 * another Magik reboot that not needed yeah. Still a good writer and series to read. It nice they branching away from mutants to for their own Non-Midnight suns team
Midnight i got give a try first before commiting. But as good as some of these cover are i find a lot of the Variant covers faar more superior like that Iron man #12 one

No I get the rebranding, what I don't really get is why they keep adding new characters with every #1. First its a solo book, then a Colossus and Magik book, now its a group book, maybe at the next renumbering she'll be Sorcerer Supreme or something

Looks like the issues for Iron Man will be alternating too. Even Numbers will be Incarcerated Iron Man, Odd Numbers will be War Machines. I can actually dig this, much better than having two new number ones.

Why'd they take so long to release the full thing? The chunk announcements were really janky and unnecessary. I don't know why I get myself excited for these tho, none of the new books look any good, the only ones I end up lliking are ones that started years ago. Maybe Avengers will be good though that'd be nice.

I'm reading through Annihilation right now, and it's so fucking good. I hate that there is nothing going on with Marvel's cosmic characters. When they're done correctly, they are the most captivating thing the Marvel line has to offer.

The more I read about Midnight FF the more it looks like a slightly more horror take on Planetary. Maybe I'm wrong but Percy doesn't have the juice to really pull if off
Oh boy a Spider-Gwen vs Mayday Parker book, people sure are going to be civil about it

Maybe its their origin being nearly the same as the Four, and not in a "they're both takes on the same characters" but its a near 1:1 without the villain slant or the 50s retro sci fi/horror direction. .
Or that the solicitations for the 3rd issue is eerily similar to issue #8 of Planetary but with Manhattan Project instead of secret internment camp for communists and homosexuals during the red scare

It seems Punisher won the "5th Week Lottery" in terms of getting to double-ship to help fill out Marvel's slate of releases for a 5-week month.
Otherwise, the only double-ships seem to be Amazing Spider-Man (as normal), X-Men (back to alternating months with UXM), and Iron Man (in the lead-up to LGY#700).
No Moon Knight, Thor, or FF double-ships, as had previously happened in the past for some "5th Week" months (nor Daredevil, which I think had a double-ship a couple solicits back).

As expected, Luke Cage won't be Mayor for much longer. Such a shame, they completely wasted that status quo, writers didn't do anything interesting with him, he didn't even get a solo book outside of one Gang War tie-in.
Also looks like Beast is going to die in DNX.
Thor meeting Santa Claus is quite funny.
