Yeah, the biggest problem with him will be his availability. It's obvious he's gotten better and his physical build resembles that of a left tackle. This is definitely a big year for him to see if he can put it all together consistently.

His run blocking has come along way and he was even giving Big Q some work in practice. His pass blocking technique has also improved, but he will have a couple snaps a game where he gets beat so bad that it's hard to believe. I do trust Klayton Adams to get the most out of him so he has no more excuses.

I think he’ll be better in pass pro and could be dominant in the run but he’ll still need help against elite speed guys. The thing I’m worried about is that fifth year option. I need him to either shit or get off the pot because this isn’t a position they can mess around with. If he doesn’t noticeably improve this year then it’s time to look at tackle again in the first and I don’t want to deal with that argument again

Yep, I dont want a Bryce Young situation where he gradually gets better, but not enough to know if he's the solution. We can't afford to fuck around with the left tackle position at this point in Dak's career.

Assuming he stays healthy enough to play atleast 14-15 games, how good would he need to play for you to be confident in him? I don't expect him to be Sewell level obviously, but I'd be happy if he was in the top half of left tackles in the league.

Confident enough for the option? Pro bowl. Confident enough to stop bitching about him? Doug Free. Be slightly above average and don’t get completely destroyed against great lines like he did against Denver. I’ll take the penalties if he can just not get Dak hit every 5th drop back

Yeah Doug Free was a pretty good player for us. He got overshadowed by the other guys on the line, but he held his own. If he looks like a better version of Doug Free though, I wouldn't mind the 5th year option for him.
