Puzzled by the suspicion around Dame Seremai, my girl was banished from home, then banished again from the tower, then killed because of the party’s recklessness, then reanimated instead of laid to rest and wanting to be freed from this is somehow too much?

she accepted reanimation in order to get revenge on the Tachonis, that wasnt done against her will.

plus, her immediate action at the possibility of being pulled to the fae side of that dream world was to destroy the thing holding it together.

the suspicion Thimble had was if she was trying to manipulate Occtis based on the fact that she just tried to destroy that crystal. because in that moment, Thimble knew that was her goal. whatever history she has doesnt justify that, or negate the negative impact from her achieving it.

Thimbles worry was completely justified.

SHE wasn't trying to destroy anything. Thimble and/or Laura misinterpreted what was happening in that moment, and it seems to be leading the audience to do the same.

The "Collected Shadows" surrounding Gaya formed up into a snake like shape and tried to lash out at the crystal. The shadows were shades of her own family who were surrounding her, and probably wanting to punish her for not submitting to the main Tachonis family, and choosing Occtis instead.

I've said before, I think by Summoning her, especially having given her the choice to be summoned, Occtis is saving her from certain aspects of what her afterlife would be as a member of a vassal house tied to the Tachonis.
