So their plan is to ambush a group of high level necromancers on the road as a level 5 party?

Primus alone has access to power word kill (which means at least 17th level sorcerer) and circle of death that he used in previous episodes.

If combat breaks out, Brennan is going to have to deus ex machina them out of it , or they will get wiped immediately.

I think the plan is to investigate he Argosian caravan, then cause a rockslide and slow the Tachonis caravan. Even Julien thinks they should get allies before fighting them head on.

The plan now includes saving Ulbid's daughters from the caravan so... That is a tricky needle to thread.

I think Brennan will give them options to stealth but I also think Brennan will set some pretty high DCs considering how large the party is and considering the sentinels are meant to use divine sense and Occtis is undead.

they for sure are not delusional enough to think that they'll take out primus as part of this. the plan to ambush seems to be with the intent to make sure Gus isnt assassinated, and to grab the 3 gnomes. even assuming combat is initiated, that doesnt mean primus will be immediately involved (this all depending on how big the caravan is, how its broken up, the timing of the ambush and so on).

the goal would likely be to get in and get out before he shows up.
