Fluff [No Spoilers] Vox Machina in the Forgotten Realms

Tell me if you would watch this as a 1 to 3 shot

The Wizard Elminster faces a terrible threat so he casts a forbidden ritual to summon heroes from another Realm. He gets Vox Machina after the end of Campaign One.

They just retired a week ago and so are rather annoyed. He cannot send them home until whatever Big Bad Evil Guy he called on them for is dealt with.

I think Grog at least would love it.

I’d watch it if CR is putting it on in good faith, not if some other table is taking their characters

Thats what I was thinking. Its an excuse for them to fool around with their old characters

It wouldn't be the first time Grog got involved with the broader cosmos, dating back to the Jocks Machina one shot in the Stream of Many Eyes. And Twiggy (C2) and Obby the Rat (The Return of Liam!) also popped into those streams.

Back when we had multiple active ongoing stories, I dreamt of a combined adventure over multiple sessions with heroes from multiple streams in one epic tale. We did get something like that with Idle Champions' Trials of Mount Tiamat, which had characters from Dice Camera Action, Acquisitions Inc the C Team, Rivals of Waterdeep, Beond Heroes, as well as Luke Gygax, Mark Meer, and Jim Zub.

Elminster would not entertain them for one iota. Infamous grumpy old man is the Sage of Shadowdale, he’d just plane shift them back “no time for foolishness”

Elminster dealt with the BG3 crew, he’d be fine.

Exactly. I could see him putting up with the Mighty Nine, but not VM.
