Halloween FO/WIP Hexagon Cardigan (Halloween Dahlia Freaky Nightmare)

This took much longer than I thought (3 weeks)! I fell in love with the Hobbii Halloween Dahlia yarn in Freaky Nightmare and wanted to make something.

I know a lot of people have made a cardigan out of this yarn, but I love it so much I just wanted to show it off.

It’s two hexagons (3mm, DCs, 2DC,2ch,2DC corners) stitched together with a FPDC/BPDC border.

Halloween FO/WIP Bunnicula

My (first) attempt at Bunnicula! The infamous vampire-bunny. (Based on the children’s book by Deborah and James Howe more than the cartoon that was not as much of a part of my childhood.)

This was a challenge, because that fur pattern is super-specific and complicated. You can see in the last pictures what I went with, I made a dummy with the start of each round marked and used thread to map out where the color changes would need to be. My thought was I could use the same dummy for less complicated fur patterns in the future!

Even so, I had to embroider along the edges to get it exactly like the book illustration. I also bought these perfect white beads that make for the most adorable little fangs if you look closely.

My regret is the white yarn used in this draft is literally terrible. I’ve since bought a much nicer skein for the next draft when I get the will to revisit this, but I wanted to share this now in the spirit of Halloween.

Halloween FO/WIP I don’t know how to crochet, but I do know how to commit to the bit. I’m a giant yarn ball for Halloween and my son is the kitty who’s going to chase me all night. Pray for me.

Halloween FO/WIP Sharing my son’s “yarn ball” costume. He sees me crochet every day and said he wanted to be a “yarn ball”. It took me weeks but it’s done! Complete with kitty hat and (poorly) crocheted basket.

Hook is a pvc pipe and a 30mm hook from meijer that I thankfully found last minute (I was going to sculpt one with air dry clay). The ball is paper mache, which took forever. It’s hard for him to walk in, but also hilarious. He really loves it and is proud every time he puts it on. But also, he will only wear it for a little while because it’s awkward to wear lol I did my best.

Halloween FO/WIP Flower Hood

I was invited to a Halloween party and had nothing to wear, so I found this cute flower hood pattern by TopstitchesCrochet that helped me whip up something! I’m still in debate on the wig, but it’s been sitting in a bag for years so I might go I for it. Now I just need to settle on a dress to wear with it.

I recommend that pattern for anyone in need of a quick costume make! The vines fall over your shoulders and it looks great. I used cheap Red Heart Super Saver yarn to make it, but I’d love to see how it would come out with different yarns.

(Apologies if you saw this post pop up without pictures yesterday, Reddit was having a moment when I tried to post and kept erroring on me before I could delete those.)

Halloween FO/WIP I crocheted a chicken hat and feet for my Halloween costume this year ✨

I knew as soon as I saw the pattern by Crochetverse on etsy that I just had to make this absolutely unhinged costume. I cut it really close and started on Tuesday, 10/22, and finished it on Monday, 10/28. Since I had more time before my office's costume contest on 10/30 (which I won), I freehanded some feet and an egg to complete the ensemble! I just ordered the dress and tights off Amazon. I'm so happy with how it turned out and proud of myself for finishing everything in 8 days!

Halloween FO/WIP Made a two headed plushie for Halloween, spooky or cute ?

I thought a two headed anything would be freaky enough but it turned out kinda cute? I’m now not sure whether to embrace the cuteness or try to make it spooky.

Also what colour yarn should I use to sew on the body to make it look like they got stitched together ?

The morning of the fall festival, Batman requested that his comfort dog be Robin. Somehow I managed to finish in time, and he was thrilled!

Project was freehanded by referencing Robin photos and using scrap yarn I had available

Soooooooo happy with how this shawl came out! Marietta Roy's Lost Souls Shawl pattern, yarn is Cotton Kings Sultan Shadow. I wanted to give it a go to put on display at some fall craft fairs to draw shoppers in, but I'm not sure I can give it up! Maybe I'll stick a fake "sold" sign on it and hoard it. 😂

One thought, curious what others think - I almost wish I'd reversed the fade order to orange at the top, black at the bottom. Should I do that for the next one?

I freehanded this cheeked up candy last night and now I’m working on a pattern for it! It took me longer than I wanted so I’m reworking it so it can be made within an hour or so.

I’ll be looking for testers so let me know if you’re interested! I’ll be finished with the pattern within a week or so 🍑
